_Brooklyn 99 is absolutely hilarious. The writing is fantastic, Jake, Holt, and Rosa are some of my favorite characters in any sitcom, and the cold opens are iconic.
I know, I love how this show pulls the comedy off as well.
So underrated
This show also really knew how to write for an ensemble car. So many ensembles fail to help us know our car about even its smaller characters, but these Brooklyn 99 writers had me as a fan of all characters, from Jake, Holt, and Amy to Sully, Hitchcock and even the Pontiac Bandit!
So great! 🤩
It's a shame that "One Day at a Time got cancelled not once, but twice. It flawlessly balanced both comedy and drama.
I'm still upset about losing this show.
I'm gay and I think it went too heavy on the "woke sexualities" stuff in the netflix remake, although it was good too see, didn't need to be the whole thing
I never saw the last season 😢
I adore "Abbott Elementary." Finally, there's an engaging, entertaining show about teachers and their relationships with their students.
I've seen a couple of episodes of Abbott Elementary and it's cute. I want to see the full series because I adore Tyler James Williams since Everybody Hates Chris and I'm glad he's getting more opportunities.
@@kamsismith I'd definitely recommend watching the full series. It's cute and feel good, and while the whole cast is excellent, Tyler really stands out to me.
I remember the day Season 2 was renewed, my mom asked me if he was still acting since she hasn't seen him in stuff. I saw him in The Walking Dead, Dear White People(the movie, not the show), and Let it Shine.
It's so over-rated!
Abbot is my favorite sitcom
My fav is definitely Derry Girls, I'll love this forever
Unless they're dedicated to being US & Canada-centric, I can't see why they'd omit DG.
"The Good Place" is my most favourite of all times 🥰
I LOVE Superstore, The Good Place, How I Met Your Father, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Home Economics!! I'm currently watching Abbott Elementary and it is amazing.
I love "Abbott Elementary" so much ❤️ It's not just comedy, it's like a universe, a safe place 😊
Schitts Creek!!! Forever rewatchable! My comfort show ❤❤❤
I've seen a few of these, but I'm glad to have a few more shows to add to my list!
I love home economics! This list reminded me! But it also reminds me that it may not be back 😅
I love the tension and will they or won't they vibes between Greg and Janine. Pay the writers!
Didn’t think I’d like the good place when I first saw it but I found funny and shocked and was a bit teary during the finale which is rare for me
The Good Place is amazing!!!! I see why people find it to be a comfort show. It might end up being one of mine.
If there's ANY current running sitcom for kids that's the most worth watching, it's The Villains of Valley View. It's not nearly as good as That's So Raven, Zack and Cody or Wizards but it's the last kidcom left that feels like it's actually taking itself seriously. They're not wasting time making mediocre or bad seasons of television. They're trying to make the show as fun and creative as it can be! Dare I say it, it feels more like a golden age Disney sitcom more than Raven's Home ever did!
Not every joke lands, but when it does it's hilarious! There are some things I wish they would've done differently like writing WHEN Hartley finds out the secret or giving the antagonists more depth. Regardless, I'm in my late 20s and I love it!
Thanks for the recommendation! I'm in my late 20s as well but I love kids sitcoms hahaha I will check this one out
Would’ve loved to see “What we do in the shadows” on here but idk if it qualifies as a sitcom
Agreed 100%! One of my favourite shows for sure!
It absolutely qualifies as a sitcom
That and Reservation Dogs both deserved a spot.
I love Abbott! I recommend it to everyone! I recommend it especially to fellow teachers or teachers in training
I'm a sitcom nerd and I approve this list ☺️ Maybe they can make 'The Good Place' higher on the list because that show is top tier from start 'till the end 💗
Absolutely agree! If I see a list of good shows especially comedy/sitcom and it doesn’t have the good place I’m not trusting the other items, but this is great! But the good place would always be the 1st for me
@@lidytt8427 Omgggg same for me here!!! 🥰
No I agree wholeheartedly, The Good Place should’ve been WAY higher like you kidding me? It’s an absolutely phenomenally beautiful show and I adore it to pieces.
I love home economics it’s so underrated no one talks about it
Hope we get a new season
Shows you should have mentioned:
-Insecure
-Everything Is Gonna Be Ok
-We Are Lady Parts
-Reservation Dogs
-Grand Crew
-Work In Progress
-Speechless
-Special
-People Of Earth
-What We Do In The Shadows
-Bust Down
-Difficult People
-Rutherford Falls
-Grace and Frankie
-Single Drunk Female
-Please Like Me
Oh I love Speechless. Such a great show
Insecure deserves an honorable mention! Abbott Elementary is my favorite new sitcom!! The acting, the cast, the writing is everything!! So funny and smart!! Quinta is a genius!!
I literally watch ALL of these shows minus “How I Met Your Father” & I mean binged & started from the beginning. GREAT list!
Superstore is sooooo underrated! Just started Brooklyn Nine Nine…too good!!
i dont think they make sitcoms like they use to so i always end up re watching the ones i grew up with. But i did recently watch SuperStore and it’s hilarious! I recommend it to anyone. I might watch Home Economics next since i know some of the characters. Seems underrated.
"What We Do in the Shadows" 100% should be on here.
i'm so sad i finished how i met your father last month.. hope fingers crossed there's another season?
Home Economics. The Good Place. Schitt's Creek. Abbott Elementary... All comedy gold 💯
3:22 why is that “ya-ga-ga-ga-guy” so funny 🤣 😂😂
I JUST LOVE SITCOMS
My favorites are Hot in Cleaveland, Brooklyn 99, Mom, Schitts Creek, Superstore (so good) and I have to say Modern Family ('cause it's just PERFECT)
Schitts Creek and Brooklyn 99 are awesome. I also love Parks and Rec and Modern Family.
9:10 thank you for adding NDY cuz it didn’t get the love it deserved when that trailer dropped
Right me and my huaband love it!
Slight correction, the Johnson’s are the family on Black-ish
Single parents should be on the list too
Villains of valley view and pretty freekin scary also
A honorable mention for me "Hacks" from HBO. One of the funniest sitcoms I ever watched, jean smart kills it!
Does it only have 1 season?
@@caseycampbell4787 I think it has three, but certainly two!
I havent seen Grace and Frankie, Superstore, or Brooklyn 99. But ive seen all the others.... Never heard of honerable mention "Children Ruin Everything" and I have "Working Moms" on my list to watch at some point.
A great one that wasn’t mentioned was The Ms. Pat Show on BET+. Already going into season 5 🙌🏻
Highly recommend by Norman Lear too!
Superstore deserves so much appreciation ❤
We agree!
I loved the good place! 🥰
Where is Ted Lasso in this list? Also only Murders in the building deserves a spot
Only Murders in the Building is so fucking awesome!
Only murders! Yes! Surprised it wasnt on here
@@tiffy3787 It’s hysterically funny 😆 with likable characters and they have a Murder Mystery with so many plot twists
I like watching One Day at a time, mom, and working mon. They make me laugh
Brooklyn 99 is amazing and The Good Place is probably my most comforting tv series❤
shame that season 7 and 8 really went downhill
with writers & sag strikes
should do a list of shows we need to check out from prior decades (1990-2010)
Which should be better then watching reality-crap (fewer viewers of these may finally tell networks to stop making them?)
Man Down, Drifters, Siblings & Derry Girls.
For some reason I had it in my head Dairy Girls is some sort of Christian show???
@@caseycampbell4787 Religion plays a significant role in DG, because the main characters attend a Catholic school. However, most of the plots aren't about religion.
Not even an honorable mention for "Ghosts"?? :(
It's the best show on right now!
Only watched two of those, Not Dead yet and Mom! Haven’t heard of the majority of others!
Modern sitcoms you should be watching
Reba the sitcom ( a classic comedy that will just make you laugh uncontrollably also really heartfelt and teaches great life lessons )
Friends
Full House
Sister, Sister
Girl Meets World
Roseanne
That 70’s show
It’s always Sunny in Philadelphia
Derry Girls
Curb your Enthusiasm
Seinfeld
I really like "Not Dead Yet." MUCH more than How I Met Your Father and a bit more than Home Economics.
I can't believe Alaska daily was canned after the first season it was so good
It wasnt a sitcom and was based on a book
For me my top all time favS. THE GOLDBERGS , YOUNG SHELDON,FRESH OFF THE BOAT,MODERN FAMILY,PARTY DOWN,THE UNICORN,
Blackish and it’s spin offs are underrated and deserve more attention
The American version and the original British version of Ghosts are hilarious.
For me, Favorite is still 💯 #Seinfeld but also I enjoy watching Upshaw, Marlon, Brooklyn Nine-nine, Derry Girls,The IT Crowd, Windsors, The Sound of your heart, Mom(Allison Janney), Two&A Half Men, Everybody Loves Raymond! . Here in YT, I watch Curb your enthusiasm.
Thanks for sharing!!
That's too bad "What we do in the Shadows" didn't made the cut.
Yes. Everyone Should, no, they Must Watch The Good Place!
Ultra violet black scorpion deserve attention
💼 "Inside Job" (2021-2022)
I'm surprised that this channel doesn't like The Goldbergs.
not modern
@@jimbo9208 Their definition is that it began broadcasting less than a decade ago.
@@davidz3879 and still to this day
@@jimbo9208 What do you mean?
@@davidz3879 someone did not watch the video
No ghosts or call me cat?
How the fork is The Good Place #9? writing this with out seeing the 8 entries above it, yet. There is no way it doesn't deserve to be above all others here at #1.
Edit: (a few points after watching the full video)
1. This is about shows I should be watching, but there is a scene here from the series finale of The Good Place. Why? How do I know none of the others featured here have spoilers?
2. The only show mentioned here that is on par with The Good Place, imo, is Schitt's Creek, but I think The Good Place still deserves the #1 spot. .
3. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia should be in the top 3, but since I recognize that this kind of comedy isn't for everyone it should be at least an honorable mention.
This list is of shows that started in the last ten years (then 2023, so 2013) so IASIP does not qualify and the scene from the good place isn’t a spoiler since no one would know what he meant by I’m ready unless they’ve seen it
Here’s my list of favorites since 2013 since I don’t watch any of these besides Brooklyn Nine Nine:
Brooklyn Nine Nine of course
Speechless
Detroiters
Broad city
And I’m sad I can’t add The Mindy Project which premiered in 2012 but it’s easily in my top 5 all time
I like "young Sheldon"
My new idea if Netflix doesn't have it is 70s 80s 90s sitcoms
The Goldbergs
The Neighborhood
Bob Hearts Abishola
The Office was a UK show so I don't know how much he could have created it
0:02 I didn't realise How I Met Your Father had eventually got off the ground. I may check it out at some point. Maybe.
Also, the only excuse to not include Barry is that the list's only including more 'sitcommy' shows. Haven't watched the video yet & I feel ready to be dissappointed.
I think this list sucks. Given that I haven't watched much on this list, I'm open-minded enough to consider the possibility that it doesn't, but that seems unlikely.
I haven't watched all of Home Economics, but it's nothing to write home about*.
* episodes I've watched
I Feel Bad For The Old Shows
Those are overdone the new shows deserve more attention than they get
Very surprised Young Sheldon isn't on here
Why is this list American & Canadian only?
Because Watchmojo is Canadian and most of their subscribers on the channel are from Canada and America except me since I'm from Southeast Asia and I love watching some Watchmojo videos
Ted Lasso not being on this list is a personal affront.
What we do in the shadows is the best.. shame it did make the list
Why Big Bang Theory is not there in the list. It's actually very good scinece+comedy series. Must watch
Brooklyn 99, my favorite in this decade
You guys should watch vice principals
Ghosts should’ve been on here too!
WHAT ABOUT THE MS PAT SHOW?
is ted lasso not considered a modern sitcom? how about never have i ever?
I'm still waiting for FireFlies to come back. Hopefully it will come back
Good trouble needs to be here
Its not a sitcom
@@tiffy3787it’s got sitcom elements it’s a drama and a comedy
Just like the fosters was
So I count it
I mean i love the show but it's more of a drama in my opinion and its an hour long. Sitcoms are half hr shows.
@@tiffy3787there are lots of 40-50 min sitcoms
Some are single cam others are on a soundstage
How i met your father has rotten rating on Rotten tomatoes
There shud be a sitcom called working dads
What about "Crazy ex Girlfriend"!!???
Also DOAFP
what we do in the shadows
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD 2018_
Black-ish family last name is the Johnson’s not the Anderson’s!
Right
Modern family?
Big bang is the best
Superstore
I watched all of The Good Place after season one got me intrigued. Watched for the twists in the first season, hated it after that and loathed the series finale as they all decided to end it which for me was an insane slap to the face especially since Tehani changed her mind before she did. Horrible writing. Only show I like on this list is Brooklyn Nine Nine and I’m trying to give Abbott and home economics a bit more of a chance but the rest I dislike that I’ve seen (I’ve seen all except the Netflix ones and the honorable mentions, aside from last man on Earth which I hated). I never liked superstore but I kept trying to give it a chance and when I saw the Halloween episode where the guy killed the crows (how is that funny??) I knew it was not the show for me and never watched it again
Where is Silicon Valley and Always Sunny in Philadelphia?.
Bob hearts Abishola!
WHERE IS YOUNG SHELDON
The new night court
Kenneth is that you ?
@@sigma0thee0enygma?
It’s stupid. Raunch can’t act; she should stick to modeling.
@@madnessarcade7447 30 rock deep cut.
REBECCA YOU ARE VERY PRETTY AND YOU ROCKS AND YOU ARE MY DREAM WOMAN TOO ❤❤❤❤
So glad my parents talked me into watching a show called Coach with them back when it was on Netflix because all the so-called sitcoms we get now, well suck.
wait ...HIMYF? GTFO ....i watched all 2 seasons and all episodes and literally as soon as an episode ends i forget ALL the characters name..not even joking
the characters lack chemistry and the settings are too coincidental that it seems the writers forgot to put details in
7 and 8 ? ereally 😐?
Where’s young and hungry and baby daddy
OMITB
Where is community?!
I agree with the top 3, but come on- The Good Place is top 5 for sure!
Wtf. Where is the best show ever, Ghosts?
