- Taken from the Secret World Live concert film, which captures Peter Gabriel’s extraordinary 1993 live show - conceived by Peter and Robert Lepage - it was filmed across two nights (16 & 17 November) at the Palasport Nuovo in Modena, Italy.

The concert has been digitally restored and remastered from the original 16mm film stock and the audio remixed and remastered in Stereo, Dolby 5:1 and DTS Soundtracks.

This tour was Peter Gabriel's crowning achievement. I saw the CD in the store and bought it on a whim. Great decision.
Paula Cole was absolutely stunning throughout this entire concert.
At the very end there is a look of supreme acomplishment on her face, like "yeah we just performed that perfectly".
Coles is still (2021) a very under-appreciated talent.

I was lucky enough to see him sing this live. The song is perfection. My first hearing was with Sinead O'Connor as the female vocalist with her distinctive voice. But every version is perfection.
Whomever picked Paula Cole for this tour was inspired. She is magnificent.

I bought the CD of this tour because I loved PG's great album So. I loved it from the first time I played it and became an instant Paula Cole fan. Not long ago I heard the studio version with Sinead and she just wasn't anywhere near as good as Paula. Mind you, I haven't heard the live version with Sinead, which I'm sure would have been better than the studio version.

This song along with Come Talk to Me is the soundtrack to the years before my divorce. It was a dream-like 3 years, watching her float away, finding myself closer to God than ever before, sensing her affair while not wanting to believe it, reviewing my missteps, asking for conversation, asking to repair, asking to listen to this album together, never doing it except alone.
For some reason many of Peter Gabriel's songs really make me tearful and choked up. I love the whole Secret World set ❤
SECRET WORLD tour was awesome
Of all the concerts I've been to; Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Robert Plant, The Who, ACDC, Ozzy to name a few, this by far was the best performance I have had the opportunity to experience. Thank you Peter Gabriel for your vison and showmanship.
Paula Cole's volume and tonal shading from note to note and phrase to phrase was superb , perfectly complimenting Peter's lead, coming up to lead for a moment, then receding for background lines during the instrumental sections. Exquisite and sensitive musicality !!!
Cole was both singing Sinead O'Connor's part on this song, and had replaced O'Connor on the tour literally days earlier when this was recorded. I honestly prefer Cole's live performance here to O'Connor's studio original, and it's amazingly strong for having come to both the tour and Gabriel's catalog on short notice. It's an amazing display of pre-autotune vocal talent.

My 1st time seeing this. He is so brilliantly cinematic in his videos, and now I see it's a component of his live shows as well. Circling the tree, but still not connecting, and his hand reaching for her but her back is turned.
The imagery is as beautiful as the song. Peter is a master at his craft.
When you can marry music, arrangement and brilliant poetry into a 7:00 minute song and leave people breathless, you have left something to the world that few people can.

Masterpiece, Perfection, Indescribable are words that don't fully paint the whole picture. It gives you the feeling that you've longed to have, but didn't know you needed. That tour was the first for me, I remember it well, it was magical. I’ve attended every concert he has given in Sweden since then and it’s always been awesome. This year was very special as he performed many songs that were unreleased. It was so interesting to hear them live prior to the record, I loved most of them. ❤️❤️❤️

5:52 onwards in particular has to be one of the most emotional moments in Peter Gabriel's catalogue. Everything about it just screams bittersweet sorrow, the high falsetto from Peter combined with the doudouk, it swoons and it sighs and it cries and it weeps and I've never heard anything like it before and it brings me to tears every time. This song just screams sadness at the expense of love

Lot of sincere pain and grief in the lyrics. Great song to listen to when you begin to accept that a deep intimate relationship has run it's course. Help's you realize that most people go through something similar. Highly recommend this for those with a freshly broken heart.
