Good Morning Laura & Gardening Friends! 🌼 Watching Laura & Benjamin planting seeds while the music was playing gave the impression of Tender Comfort, Memories, & Love. Garden Answer has grown in more ways than just planting flowers & veggies. 💛
Good morning Laura, I really enjoy your plants and videos, it helps me to get going after morning coffee.. I’m 78 years young and love gardening. Thank you for your show I watch on UA-cam.
Me too, Rita, I am in SW Australia, and whilst our seasons are different, there is a lot to thoroughly enjoy about Garden Answer. I inspect my 2 acre garden daily and have always found that there is something in bloom, probably taking 10 or so photos of my plants every day . My husband does the lawns when I can drag himself away from farm duties and will help me with limb removal or heavy pot shifting. It is a very relaxed style of gardening, I do not get too fussed with weeds too much, but what a joy it is to enjoy Laura’s gardening without having to try and keep up with. Who could? I’ve just had a late breakfast so now it’s out in the garden although it is the shortest day of the year, it is not too cold.m
I too planted more seeds today. It’s been so hot that things tend to germinate at super speed. I have things sprouting up already from planting three days ago and they will probably quickly catch up with everything else.
watching Benjamin planting with you makes my heart happy.....off topic , I've watched previous videos where you've talked about Neem Oil and I want to thank you....I was finally able to find some Neem Oil and sprayed some on my day lilies ( we've had issues with Japanese beetles chewing the leaves till the plant looked like sticks )....this year my lilies have explode and my garden looks full and beautiful....every little thing you talk about will at some point help someone else's garden thrive and look as great as yours, so thank you for your knowledge and for sharing with your viewers
Here in Scotland and just noticed buds on my ranunculus , got about five plants to make it to this point out of 12. Excited to see them flower if weather maintains cool. Prepared them same time as yours as you are my teacher. 👏👏👏🌻❤️
Good morning, Laura ☕️ Thanks for the extra touch of confidence to know it’s not too late to plant my seeds! The yield of those corms is quite impressive 🙌🏻 Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
I learned to test run everything in my garden (pre-soaked seeds vs direct planting, growing in part shade vs full sun)-and it has helped me take on the “let’s see what happens” approach. When I’m less concerned with the outcome I tend to have more fun and appreciate the results better. Thanks for giving us the inspo to try new things all year round!
Your hair in that sunlight along with the back drop of hedge, flowers & arbour looked wonderful. Definitely could have been the front page of a gardening magazine.
Hello Laura! I love combining flowers and vegetables together. They need each other, and we need to see the beauty as we work on the harvest. Thank you for sharing your inspiration. You do inspire me in my garden to plant some more flower seeds. I love Benjamin working with you in the garden. He is his own person. Thanks again.
This happens to be the exact process in which I needed to see as far as the ranunculus and removing them and Storage. I had no idea what I was going to do🤔 Thank you Laura Little Benjamin is such a helper he's getting so big, he is such a cutie pie. I bet he's a good big brother so helpful with his little sister SWEETNESS! My Two children are grown and my son was like that about my daughter. He thought he was the mother and the father of my daughter. It was always so precious. Watching little Benjamin certainly brings back memories little Mister Big Helper!
Did anyone else notice how nice and clean all the garden tools are that were hanging in the barn? They look brand new. I love watching all of these videos, so inspiring! You rock Laura!
Wow that’s great! I agree, it was nice to see flowers in there. I did notice how the arbs are behaving. I have a row of 13, 20’ tall. One year, the constant snow fall, and not being well, to shovel bang the snow off, they bent, and didn’t recoup. So, I called the arborist. The first outfit did a lousy job I found, the first snowfall. Voila, the second outfit did the trick. It’s been 3-4yrs. and are standing up like fluffy soldiers lol. I hope you never stop YouTubing till the last project has matured. I look forward every morning to your sunny disposition and unending talent. When you don’t upload, I’m forever looking at my saved ones lol. Thanks 🙏 so much.
Thanks for the encouragement! I had a fall from my horse this spring and was laid up for 8 weeks. All garden projects stopped (hubby watered for me). Now I’m thinking I can still get some other things planted!
those corms are so weird... gives more power to "don't judge a book by its cover" for sure; who was the first person who said, let me plant this and see what happens? lol... love how Benjamin is so at home helping you out in the garden, and love how you are teaching him by doing... all that beauty and loving family life aside, can we just stop a moment and stare at the CABBAGE!! holy moly! that is one GIANT BEAST of a veggie! we need measurements, lol... i don't think i have a spot big enough in my tiny yard for one like that, lol.. that is amazing! love that raised garden bed; it's just perfection... 🙂 ❤ thanks for the video!! 🙂 ❤
I wonder if they've figured out they don't make any more money from the garden tour videos (unless they pull in substantially more views) so they've calculated it's not worth the extra work? You have the pretties garden spaces, even empty. It’s all so clean and organized. Due to upcoming hand surgery next week, I’m not able to pull weeds or dig and plant right now. Your spaces are so refreshing. Tfs. God bless and have a great week. Hi Benjamin! 👏🏻💕👏🏻
I have learned sooo much from watching you. I have planted a few things other years but never had the confidence to expand. I have been a tomato gardener failure for several years. I am now the brunt of my family’s jokes in that regard. I was given 6 ranunculus corms last year but only one bloomed. However, it was beautiful. When you change a garden bed such as this, I was surprised to see you could leave some of the debris (flower petals). I just wondered about disease to the next planting. As well, any time I have a spent bed it seems like it is full of spent roots which is a mass. Your soil seems light and fluffy (I am sure that is a garden term).
You have definitely made me think twice about giving up on some planting, just the kick in the pants reminder I needed. That volunteer sunflower put itself in a good spot, not likely to get pulled out there. I planted 3 rows of corn, all together out of curiosity, has me looking forward to next yr and what I get from that planting.
I enjoy seeing the news property but this area of the garden gets me. Seeing how you use your veggie garden and what you’re planting throughout the season is great inspiration. 💚🌱
Very timely video, I planted Ranunculus for the first time, now I know what to do with them when they are done blooming! Thanks Laura! I'm curious to see if any of my corms multiplied 🌞
your video today reminded me that I haven't planted any marigolds with my tomato plants...will have to go in search of some seeds! thanks for all you do!
Planted a little lavender hedge Saturday and have 2 peony, 2 heuchera, several hosta and several monarda to get in the ground. We are finally having some cooler weather this week, so I can finish up then hopefully get a couple more baptisia.
I caught a giant groundhog eating one of my heucheras yesterday! I was so irritated lol Would you happen to have any tips to keep this big bugger away?
They say plant a seed in a child's brain and that is certainly what you're doing Laura. Benjamin will always remember times in the garden where he learned a valuable lesson.😇
I’ve been sick since April and felt down because of all the gardening I haven’t been able to do. I keep reminding myself how late you planted last year, that gives me hope! 😀
Those Ranunculus were gorgeous! Excellent video on the process for storing the Ranunculus corms! Love your videos, they are really informative & helpful!! 😃🌿🌺🌼🌿
Thank you for your constant inspiration, we have just moved house in Australia, very south, cold and wet here, clay soil, and it’s basically just grass, so starting over! Feeling lost and overwhelmed on where to even start. But your videos give me such inspiration and provide me with the colour that my eyes so crave! Thank you!
I am SO impressed! I love Ranunculus and I have been trying to grow them from corms for the last couple of years. I have not had a much success, but each year it gets better. This year I learned about the 'pre-sprout' from Flower Farm and I really had a bumper crop as far as producing leaves. But then I didn't follow up as I should and I didn't get flowers. The fact that you actually had the MULTIPLY is just amazing. I am going to keep at it and as long as I follow through next year, I think I will have flowers and corms to store. Thank you for this video!
Living in zone 9B, I’m lucky to not have to dig up many of these. I just threw some nasturtium and zinnia seeds in some of my pots and they are already up. My nasturtium are Papaya and Cream. You inspire me to keep planting beautiful colors. I also have a container garden going. Thank you!
I loved seeing Benjamin planting with you. He's growing so fast. I had forgotten how fast my boys grew. A very nice reminder to go back & look at mine at this age. A wonderful memory to look at & reminisce about. ❤❤💙💙💙
I can't wait for you and Aaron to have your own line of gardening accessories. I know I would buy a kneeling mat and baskets that you design! Your experience and love of gardening will help us all even more so some day!
oh dear....I didn't even listen to what Laura was saying in the barn ....I was so mesmerized by the shovels and garden tools hanging on the wall. Great display compared to my ratty dirt covered shovels hanging on a nail :)
I was thinking the same thing!! I have to go hunting in my garage since we store EVERYTHING in there, lol. We need to purge and make a wall like that!!
It really seem excessive. Looking back at the earlier videos and how everything has changed. When is enough enough? I know utube pays well but WHY? I know I’ll get a lot of flack from my comment but that’s how I feel. Videos are shorter and Hoarding is excessive. Can’t see that all this is because of a business.
I'm in zone 7a. We had 103° yesterday and this morning.... heavy dew and very light rain for about 30 minutes with 63°. Its hard to do any planting. So we try to maintain. I love watching your videos. I loved when you found the ball in your basket and said " Benjamin".. 😄
Great video today and really great advice to. Lovely to see them all still with bloom. You planted some nice things today. Will look lovely the flowers you planted in with your corn. When they come up. And great encouragement to us to get out there and plant and seed. I know l still have a few seeds l have to put out in garden.
Just finished planting my garden yesterday which is late but I planted plants not seeds so should be fine. I also planted 13 blue berry, 5 honeyberry and 71 strawberry bushes yesterday. Can't wait to see how they do.
Laura, you put your drip on tees to make loops in your pots. If you put tees in these beds and use loops (equalizes pressure) you might have less problems with hard water fouling your tubing. We have really hard water and it worked for us.
Our season is opposite to Laura and probably most of you guys. Last year was my first time growing Ranuculus and they grew amazingly. When I went to find information about digging them up and storing I couldn’t find much on the topic. So I just winged it. I dug them up washed them then dried them out then stored them in peat moss in a shoe box. We plant ours in autumn so I have planted them and they are all coming up nicely. I didn’t pre sprout, I just soaked for a couple of hours and planted. Looking forward for our spring. They put on such a show last year 😁
I love how you just keep sowing seeds and planting. Would LOVE to see your annual calendar for sowing-maybe part of your merchandise with pics of ur beautiful family ❤️
Wow--just learning about ranunculus. So exciting how many you got off one corm! I have never seen anyone explain how to harvest and store them! Thanks so much!
The ranunculus I have not grown. Now I have plenty of info from you I may try next year! They are so pretty! By the way you look fabulous! Love the lightened hair!
Last year was my first year growing ranunculus. I am in zone 5 so I dug them when they yellowed and stored them in cardboard trays in the garage. In the fall when it was getting cold I put them in paper bags and stored them in our basement for the winter. They bloomed earlier than the new ones that I purchased. We have had a hot June so they are slowing down but the anemones are still green and blooming. Thanks for another helpful and enjoyable video!
Good morning and Greetings from Windermere, Florida zone 9b 🇺🇸 I treat Amaryllis bulbs like that. Interesting video, Laura. I've never grown ranuculus, but I did use them as a florist. I will be interested to see next year when you unpack them. Happy Gardening Day Everyone 💚
Sooo glad for the ranunculus education as I am determined to raise a crop of them SUCCESSFULLY for a switch...LOL. Loving all you share from North Idaho zone 6a 💚🌻🌿
This video was such a blessing! We have had big construction projects going on outside and it has pushed back our raised bed plantings. I was afraid it might just be too late. I'm in zone 6, as you are. Thank you so much for the encouragement that it's not too late.
For many years I lived in Carlsbad, California and there's huge flower fields filled with ranunculus and I always wondered about them! Today, you've taught me so much through this video. I want to grow some next year!
I'm not sure how many plant species are in the world but, I swear Laura's going to have them all eventually!!
About 300000 plant species
@@JermaineGertse she's making a pretty good stab at it!😆

I know what you mean. I finally planted a little garden a week ago (plants and seeds).
You are not alone! My husband just rebuilt our raised beds, so I’m hoping to get my plants in today. We can do it, together! 🌿💪🏻
I'm right there with you, I want to plant more things for the year before it's too late

Do you dilute it? What's the best ratio, if you don't mind me asking?

I’d be happy if Aaron just posted a weekly drone video of the gardens. Things are moving so fast it’s hard to keep track of all the moving pieces. Lol
I think maybe they just have too much going on with the baby and all the new projects to get things as pristine as Laura likes them to be for a tour.

Fantastic! You inspired me to try my first ranuculus! This is helpful 🥰
Good morning! 🌻🐝
Great. Loved it. Thank you so very much for sharing.🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Benjamin is definitely part of the team.
Wow--just learning about ranunculus. So exciting how many you got off one corm! I have never seen anyone explain how to harvest and store them! Thanks so much!
Thats for sure Kristy😃 she is so informative she really gives u a more love n interst in plants
Good morning and Greetings from Windermere, Florida zone 9b 🇺🇸
I treat Amaryllis bulbs like that.
Interesting video, Laura. I've never grown ranuculus, but I did use them as a florist. I will be interested to see next year when you unpack them.
Happy Gardening Day Everyone 💚
Definitely going to grow ranuculous next year! They are amazing!
Love these flowers...we have some in our garden. It's so bright and sunny in your video...we seem to have lost the sun here in the UK this week.
Thank you for the encouragement to sew seeds! I’m definitely going to plant more.
Sooo glad for the ranunculus education as I am determined to raise a crop of them SUCCESSFULLY for a switch...LOL. Loving all you share from North Idaho zone 6a 💚🌻🌿
So nice to see her in the raised beds garden. I have been missing the gardens around the house.
This video was such a blessing! We have had big construction projects going on outside and it has pushed back our raised bed plantings. I was afraid it might just be too late. I'm in zone 6, as you are. Thank you so much for the encouragement that it's not too late.
Great ideas and motivation! We’re still trying to plant in Texas in our zone 8b. 🌱
That's so exciting about how many ranunculus corms you have now! I love ranunculus and can't wait to try it out next season!
Hey mom, it's a basket and a basketball 😂...makes sense to me 🥰
For many years I lived in Carlsbad, California and there's huge flower fields filled with ranunculus and I always wondered about them! Today, you've taught me so much through this video. I want to grow some next year!
Happy later father's day Arron
