I read the title of the video and the first game that comes to mind was Mad Max. Criminally underrated masterpiece of a game. Shame it doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

@@YoreHistory Yes, heavy emphasis on building you own car by looting resources. But its just not limited to that. I'd suggest you play for yourself. Unique vehicular combat and Arkham like hand-to-hand action.
Absolutely true, it looks good, plays on really old pc and the car upgrade + plus other mechanics of the game are satisfying

Honest review : areas and missions are repetitive, but combat is one of the best, and the satisfaction of upgrading your equipment and car is the best feeling of this game. Also, free roaming in this world is a chef kiss.
Hello CB, This war of mine and Frostpunk are really brutal games, the kind of decisions you need to make just to see another day is really challenging, good recommendations though 🙂
Heyo CB! Underrail is a GREAT game for people who enjoy Fallout 1 and 2, as well as the Metro series. Not an easy game, but definitely fun.

What about Bioshock and The Last of Us ?

Borderlands 2, Remnant: From the Ashes, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, The Last Stand: Aftermath, Chernobylite and State of Decay 2.
Bioshock is very localized and more anti-utopian than post-apocalyptic, and The Last of Us could be here 100%, but I decided to limit zombie games (9/10 of apocalypses are zombie apocalypses, this would be very boring video). Both are awesome though :)
@@ColdBeer Yes, zombie games are the most common example of the genre though seeing Days Gone get the nod over TLoU was surprising.
Would you consider Grim Dawn as post-apocalyptic ?
@dennisdavidov782 Well, honestly I disliked the structure of The Last of Us game. Too many cutscenes and characters I should care about. And I didn't. It failed to get my heart somehow; I literally laughed when the girl died. You know which one.
And it felt more like an interactive movie or a show to me, not a game. Funny thing - the actual show for me was awesome! Watched it in one sitting.
And Grim Dawn - no :) It could be based in any other setting and it would be the same game anyway.
