Just discovered your channel and what a great tutorial that is ! It will work beautifully with my necromunda ash waste box that I am going through ! Thanks for the video !
Love this look! It’s incredible and easy for a full army. One question, have you ever used black primer instead of mechanicus grey? Does it do much to the finished product?
I used a different thinner, but it seemed to destroy the acrylic paint layers since it contains alcohol. Figured maybe the Tamiya thinner is different, but the product description also says that it contains alcohol. Did you run into this problem? Maybe I just used too much thinner on the sealing step.
I didn't. If the paint is fully dry before applying shouldn't be an issue. Then just leave the fully dry before touching it. What thinner were you using?
There's specific pigment fixer you can get and you can spray Matt varnish on it. The finish will be slightly different than what's shown here I've found though
I'm planning to do my entire army this way, but my only question is -- how do you suggest attaching the miniature to the base afterwards? Do you drill a small hole, just super glue it down, etc?
I used the wwscenics sand miniature basing kit and mixed the 3 sand and stone mixed bags together. Geek gaming have some pre made that would be fine for this however. The arid earth, desert sand and stone or the city rubble would be fine 🙂
Incredible how that last step changes the final look so drastically. Can't argue with those results though!
Yeah it's almost magic!
Looks great. Some bits in there that I hadn't seen in any video before - thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching!
Brilliant guide! Trying it out myself now

Yeah black primer won't be a problem
Any other thinners work instead of Tamiyas? I've got some thinner medium from vallejo and vallejo s airbrush thinner?
Great tutorial! Thanks!!!
What else could be used at the end to seal it all in? I have vallejo matte varnish but I think it would be too shiny in concentrated areas like that
Matt varnish dies seal it but the finish will be different. You could try another thinner or some white spirit but you would have to experiment

hi, very nice work, one question, any alternative to use instead of the thinner?

Yeah drill a small hole and pin it with a bit of paperclip or something like that and you will be all good 👍
Which geek gaming basing product are you using?

If you are on their website search sand miniature basing kit. Will come up with what I brought. I mixed the 3 sand bags together
Where to get the mini skulls? Anyone???
GW do a box of various skulls. As GW goes, it's pretty good value for money. Etsy also have plenty of 3d print options.
