This video made me realize one thing. There was the time when you were teaching me via your previous videos how to put a wine cork into Logitech G29 pedals to get the better break feeling and now...look at you :) Fanatec DD, Mclaren wheel, sliding pedals. I like the progress
Things have moved on for me for sure! :) To be fair though even when I did the cork mod I was on a TS-PC Racer with Fanatec pedals and shifter (same as I have still now), I just like to try and cover all budgets with my video's :)
That’s kinda cheap don’t you think? I’m thinking at least $200 but if you want the bar to make the adjustments that’s gonna be another $100. You’ll get Fanatec stickers with it so it may be worth it from some. The big selling point will be that the slider can be used in a real car.
Seeing how much you have your steering wheel angled puts a smile on my face. Too often do i see people setting theirs up waaaay too upright. This is excellent.
How bloody simple. Why hasn't this been done before. One of the best ideas in a long long time. Rebrand it as premium sim pedal sliders and whack a $300 price tag on em.
I feel like you'll regret this comment when you can't find seat sliders for less than $200, lol. Not that it takes anyone pointing it out for greedy companies to capitalize on everything possible.
Excellent video Karl. Really enjoying all your output 😀. Do you think there is any chance of installing these type of pedal sliders onto the pedal frame of a Playseat Challenge?
Excellent mod there Karl. It's amazing that the cockpit makers don't all have seat and pedal sliders to enable people to easily find that perfect driving position but while they are behind the curve it's good that we have youtubers like you showing what can be done.
Absolutely brilliant as per usual Karl! Perfect timing too mate as I've just struck the same issue with a couple of much shorter friends struggling to reach without the wheel touching their chest. Keep up the good work dude 🤘
This is exactly what I'm doing so my kids can drive. Just trying to figure out how to add some tilt but also keep it so they still slide horizontally instead of at an angle.
Jesus Christ!!! I share my rig (playseat evolution) with my 7 year old and it’s a bloody nightmare undoing it and sliding it etc, we can’t even take it turns because is the sheer agro. This is a true game changer!!! Thank you. Also more fuel to the fire for a rig upgrade to aluminium extrusion. Didn’t get clearance to buy the one you had for sale from the boss 🥴
Nice. I've been thinking about doing this for a while as my Fiance is a full foot shorter than me, and actually drives in the sim from time to time. I was skeptical if it would be solid enough though. This settles it. Now I'm sold. Great video as always
Trak Racer have had this exact thing on the market for a while (admittedly, at a little more than £25) and it's a brilliant addition. Especially when there's 33cm difference in height between me, and my partner.
Great video Karl.👍🏻 i have a GT Omega prime and recently fitted the seat slider brackets to my seat but felt restricted in the movement on the pedal deck. Like you, I have bought the Clubsport V3 pedals which I will be fitting to my rig after upgrading from the T300 rs wheelbase and pedals. I have the Mclaren gt3 v2 wheel to go on to my soon to arrive, CSL DD wheelbase. Seeing your video about the pedal sliders was perfect timing. I will be ordering a set from Ebay today and solve my problem.👍🏻thanks again, because it's people like you, taking the time to produce helpful advice and tips via UA-cam that helps idiots like me, get things right.
I 3D printed different wheel spacers to different wheels for this same problem so I don't have to change anything when I change wheels. Having said that I do like the concept and I may fit sliders to mine to make it easier to move if someone else uses my rig.
This is also for different people with different leg lengths (my friends race here too)... in your solution the pedals are a fixed distance as you will have spaced your shallower wheels to match your deepest wheel for that to work, fine for just you of course and if you don't mind the flex plastic spacers introduce.
@@KarlGosling No flex whatsoever, the spacers are just that, they are clamped between the wheel and the QR, the bolts go right through. I have been using this system with my Simucube Pro for the last couple of years with no problems.
lv it carl gonna get it for my titan when its finally arrives im on the smaller side but the mate a giant ffs so will do perfect for anyone lookin to try it out great mod wouldnt have thought of that lol
With this solution, would it at all be possible to angle the pedals? I would want them more upright. Which would mean raising the back up. But that doesn't look easy.
@@KarlGosling Yes, but that means pushing the sliders uphill/downhill. What I meant was keeping the sliders flat but raising the back of the pedals to get an angle. If you understand what I mean. :)
Great mod Karl , i am 6 foot 4, and use the gt omega classic with the rear frame and seat, with the logitech g29, hope this works on my settup, keep up the great vids
Only one way to find out! But as I said most use four bolts to secure so just get the right size and some washers for the M6 bolts and you should be good! :) The holes in the wheel stand might need opening up to M8 if they are not already too.
What Pedal tray are you using? I have the GT Omega Rig and their contraption but I can't get it anywhere near low enough, I like how yours is mounted just directly at the bottom!
not really unventing the "wheel" lol as simlab ships a Sparco slider with their pedal slider/tray and Trackracer has something similar as well, maybe can save a few bucks if u diy it.good video still mate, thx
the cost of unbranded sliders is like 20-25 pounds or 30-35 usd, simlab for example sells a Spraco, FIA slider, for 40 euros, so roughly the same price for a branded, proven slider, if you count out shipping of course
Hi Karl. Just found this video and wanted to say thanks! :) I had a quick question, do you know if it's possible with this slider to slide it all the way out to quickly remove the pedals completely? I also fly and am looking for a way to quickly replace race pedals with rudders and two of these sliders might do the trick if so! :)
I was looking to do this and ordered after seeing you video to show it in action. I just got an ebay one and must say it's not really working out for the Thrustmaster T3PA pedals on the GT Omega Titan cockpit. There is only 5cm travel on the sliding mechanism (which seems terrible), is the slider in the link that bad? My issue is that the mounting screws are near the middle of the pedal unit so not fitting the screw holes unless the slider racks hangs out the front or back, there is a rotation part inside the slider which means you cannot put a screw through the middle (only the outer parts). Also the holes don't line up with the foot plate in the rig, the plate isn't long enough to have top and bottom holes line up. Just can't see a tidy way of mounting this on the Titan cockpit with Thrustmaster T3PA pedals, a shame as was hoping this would work for me and my son using the same rig. Will have to get a second set of cheap t300 pedals for him.
5cm of travel isn't right no, mine moves a good few inches as you can see in the video mate. You could fit the T3PA pedals to two small lengths of ally profile and then the sliders to the other side using T nuts, that way it can bolt together exactly where it needs to :) I'd do that and then get rid of the Titan adjustable pedal tray instead bolting the new sliders directly to the Titan base plate... I've done this anyway as I didn't like how high the Titan pedal tray made my pedals sit.
Thanks for the response, interesting that your slider is moving more, perhaps it needs more force to move further (was just sliding by hand as not able to fit). Certainly a good point about mounting on another plate, need to get my head around the neatest solution and one which involves not drilling in to the rig ideally. I do agree about the pedal tray though but it's just the holes lining up issue again. Maybe I won't rule it out just yet but gonna take some thought :-) Thanks again
carl iv the titan gt omega do i need to get a new plate to put the seat sliders on im new to moding and ur the man for that could you let me know what iv to get to make it fit on my titan thanks buddy lv the vids my man

Nice, Fanatec is probably watching this and will now create their own version for $100
$100? That’ll be just the universal hub to be able to use other pedals on it 😂

Great innovation, Karl … that’s what I love about this channel. I have a fixed seat on my wooden rig, so why not slide the pedals? Brilliant!
Great idea! :)
What a brilliant idea 💡something so simple but effective
This right here is why we watch your channel.

Thanks Barry, it's an easy fix!
There's a couple of manufactures out there that have a similar setup I think.
Sim-lab does has a full pedal tray slider but a lot more expensive than just a set of sliders.
This is a great idea my wife pretty short so quick adjustments really help.
Great timing of this video, I was looking to do this kind of mod in the next few weeks 👍👍
Ah well there you go, easy mod! :)

did this a number of months ago on my Prosimu 3dof.
Question, how come you push middle rod down? When up is default push location, you change middle rod side to rear , not front side?

but i mounted them under my pedal tray.

Maybe of you remove the end stops, you'd have to have a look at how it works as I can't remember off the top of my head.
Top tips as always Karl, one observation, don't you find the black profile a bit of a nightmare to keep clean compared to the standard silver profile?
I've not used the black one long enough to know yet but seems ok so far... just don't look to close! lol
Nice enhancement! It's too bad more real cars don't have a system like this.
Yeah probably not as practical in real cars with hydraulic hoses attached to the brake and clutch.
