Haha! I totally forgot to preface that. Most of my NATO's are 20mm but even on my 22mm watches, I resort to a 20mm NATO anyways as I don't like how wide 22mm straps feel on my wrist. Thanks again watching and glad you liked it!
I have the same Seiko 5 (with the original shark mesh bracelet). Thanks to this video, I’ve just bought the NATO Bond style and the brown leather strap.
Would have to go with a leather or rubber strap for my watches. I aim for keeping things as OEM as possible but when it needs to be changed I go for those two options the most. Another fun video, cheers!
Excellent video as always! While I applaud your bold decision to pair 20mm straps with a 22mm lug width, it's not something I'd rock. Would have appreciated you mentioning something about strap and lug width.
It's my inner Sean Connery Bond coming out pairing a narrower strap to my watch. Jk haha. I actually own a lot of 20mm NATO's and prefer them over a 22mm as they feel a bit too wide for my liking. I should've prefaced this in the video, totally went over my head on that point. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks again for stopping by!
The perlon is also perfect on a thinner skin diver, where another strap might be too bulky. In the NATO category, I would add the Marine Nationale style strap for supreme comfort on just about any dive or sport watch. For the military field or pilot watch, another extremely comfortable and style appropriate is a canvas/Velcro strap. I was really surprised how well these work.
awesome video with clear explanation! I've worn my Seiko SRPE93J1 turtle for 146 days in a row now on the stock rubber strap. It's comfortable and it really suits the turtles case. But I would like to try out a military green nato!
Can’t go wrong with the trusty NATO. I switch out to the stock rubber strap on my turtle as well when I’m feeling sporty and like you said, a great pair! Thanks for taking the time to watch my video!
I forgot to mention that the Seiko 5 Sports comes with a 22mm lug width! You may notice a gap between the strap and lugs when I have my NATO's on the watch as these straps are 20mm. I tend to resort to 20mm NATO's because they are more abundant in my collection of straps and I just prefer the width of these over a 22mm. Hope this cleared up any confusion! Thanks for watching!
I just ordered the cement seiko 5!! Any tips for strap ideas for it? alas i do live in south africa so my access to cool ones are limited… but any advice would be appreciated :D
Thanks! Technically the Seiko 5 Sports uses a 22mm but I typically use a 20mm. There is a gap if you use 20mm but I don’t mind it. I just think it wears nicer and have a whole collection of 20mm straps.
bracelet strap and rubber strap all have waterproof.nylon strap get wet need at less half day or longer time to dry up.leather strap absorb sweat will get wet and smelly.
my OCD kicks in when i am seeing those 20mm natos on 22mm lug width watches... but love the video!

Reminds me of sean connerys submariner with that tiny nato strap
Underrated channel. Love how you bring life into watch straps. I am encouraged to buy all colors you recommended in the video
2:35 Oh yeah. That strap looks bad ass with the watch.

I just bought a new Seiko 5 sports field Srpg35k1 with Nato on it. I love it. But I'm looking for a leather strap for more formal situations.

That's a good tactic keeping things OEM. Thanks again for watching!

Where is that jubilee bracelet from. Looks like a 5 gmt bracelet, but i haven’t found it being sold by itself anywhere online.

You’re in good company there, the original James Bond rocked the lug gap NATO look on the infamous Submariner 😉
Exactly! Even more noticeable at 16mm on a 20mm lug width Sub. Only Bond could pull that off 😆
I have this exact watch, can someone link me the oyster watch band please?? I cannot find it anywhere!
Fantastic video. I can't find the cream strap anywhere, do you have a link?
Thank you! Try give CNS straps (formerly known as, Cheapest NATO Straps) a try! I believe that’s where I got that one :)

Great Video! How many mm nato straps works best with Seiko 5 Sports?

Haha thanks! In the right light, a Seiko 5 looks great. However, the Seiko 5 is an amazing watch to begin with!

Great informative video. how can I get the Rubber Strap: Seiko Milanese Style
Rubber watch band is always a good option for summer season.

Not related to straps - where did you get that brown jacket? Looks good on you!
Haha thanks! I like that jacket too. It was a random pick up from Nordstroms Rack!
A Sailcloth strap with a deployment buckle is my go to for a dive watch. 🎉gives is more luxurious feel.
That's a great option especially with the deployment buckle keeping things convenient to pop on and off. Thanks for watching!
