    Just recently noticed that the latest version of DDU didn't fully uninstall, still showing in Windows 11 after safe boot removal, my AMD 24.1.1 driver. Removed the AMD software from Windows Settings Apps, and then reran DDU to get it fully Uninstaller. May just be an anomaly on my system. Thanks for your time and efforts to share this with us all.

      I also used the latest version in this video, which is 18.0.7.3. Everything worked fine for me.

    Oh !
    I wouldn't know, Just been using all AMD for 20 years with Linux. Drivers have always been included in the kernel except around 2010s when you had to download catalyst to install.

    Nice Kraber hipfire!
    Always done driver updates via DDU -> Reboot -> New driver -> Reboot
    Tried DDU'ing both from Safe Mode and normally, never observed any difference.
    Also I will never accept any other way of getting into Safe Mode other than mashing F8 on boot lol.

    i just built my new pc, i’ve had 2 issues: one being the fact my graphics card driver keeps disabling, keeping my from playing. i have to go to my computer management and re-enable it only for it to disable by itself later. i tried this and it still hasn’t fixed it. im at a loss

    Great point about new drivers not playing well with existing overclocks. My 3090 has been prone to that particularly with my older systems. Thanks for the Vid!

    hi! hoping for a reply. i’m not that much of a computer user and was trying to trouble shoot a graphics card issue, i was told by a tutorial to uninstall the gpu driver from device manager. is it over for me? thinking i’ve done something wrong i can’t seem to find any answers, your video says that i shouldn’t of done it but why? hoping for a reply :(

    • @RATechYT
      @RATechYT  Місяць тому

      There's nothing wrong with that, you can still enable safe mode and use DDU to uninstall your drivers the proper way. Uninstalling through the device manager simply doesn't result in a clean uninstall, which is why it's best to do it through DDU.

    I have never had any issues with drivers on the nvidia side of things, on amd though... ddu everytime at least with the rdna2 and 3 cards.
    heck I have an OS disk that spans from 2012 and 3770k that had win 7, then upgraded to 10, which had about 10-12 systems with plenty of amd and nvidia gpus and when I do come across an issue I use my second disk to see if my old bloated os installation on that sata ssd is the issue. More ofthen than not I actually have more issues with my clean os disk than the bloated one which is funny, and yes that includes having issues with am5 platform and rdna2/3 gpus. funny.

    • @RATechYT
      @RATechYT  7 місяців тому

      I didn't have any issues with either brand, even after trying multiple cards from them on multiple platforms and two different SSDs with Windows 10 installed. Can't say anything about older versions of Windows though.

      @@RATechYTamd driver just sucks, when I had am5 it did not recognise the igpu of the 7600 even though I picked the proper driver from amds site.
      Amds 24.1.1 drivers stutters so incredibly much in bf2042 that I thoaught somethign was broken with my system, simply unplayable.
      in desktop use while browsing the web and watching a youtube video it can stutter and popp the sound when u do something in the webbrowser on the other screen.
      there are plently of niggles with amd gpus, I have had 7 or maybe even 8 since 2020, all high end rdna2 and 3 gpus and they are such a head ache compared to nvidia it is not even a contest.
      But amd cards are cheaper, so for every nvidia card I get about 2 or 3 amd cards.

      @@Pillokun You can experience artifacting, crashing, stuttering etc with Nvidia drivers as well as mentioned towards the end of the video with evidence. Those issues were around for a few driver versions, and they only partially got fixed after a month or two. Does that mean that Nvidia drivers suck? I guess since you claim that AMD drivers suck because of similar issues, then Nvidia isn't any better.

    • @Pillokun
      @Pillokun 7 місяців тому

      @@RATechYTamd sucks because they are so serious, like with bf2042, I just cold not play it because of the stutters that actually were more like game pausing for 1sec every 3 sec.
      and I have like plethora of gpus, yet it is always the amd ones that actually affect the games I play and my desktop experience. and my bloated os installation works supremely good with nvidia cards, and it has drivers and stuff from all kind of suff, yet amd(the new ones) seems to have issues, heck even my controll os which is clean amd gives me issues.
      But that is for me my use-case and the games I play, I have noticed that many responds with, -but I dont have any issues, and then it turns out they dont even play the same games which are not even affected. like with the 24.1.1 driver which affect bf2042.
      At my local hw-forum many newcomers to pc in the amd gpu section are complaining about stutter in games like in bf, even going so far as to returning amd gpus or geting the sys serviced, all because of the buggy drivers.This is the largest hw forum in our country that even have their own butiqe builds for sale on severel computer stores, so u can imagine which brand have more issues and more severe than the other.
      I am just honest, amd drivers sucks and I even hate the look of the amd gui as I never can find anything and one cant even change res or refresh-rate of the monitor without going to the custom menu. But nvidia is also going the slick looking fancy pancy web-look where u have to click around for 5 min before u find what u want to change. That is crap, just stick with the good old design we have today, so easy.
