Huge props for shouting out Just Dance by Lady Gaga. I feel like that song got played a lot in 2008 and then everyone seemed to forget what a masterpiece it is. Timeless IMO.
I had the wonderful opportunity in the 2000's - about 2014 where I did not listen to as much pop music as varieties of hiphop and rock so when I was feeling like listening to 'new stuff' that (double) album came to my attention for the first time and I was like "fuh qya"

Apparently, Tom Delonge's company has a contract with the US DOD (Department of Defense aka military heads) to deal with UFO and aerial phenomena. His work was incredibly instrumental to those UFO papers that were recently released. Say whatever you want about the guy but it looks like he may have a point (he'll likely go down as the Jack Sparrow of the alternative scene).
Thank you for saying this as I was about to comment when Finn simply stated, "The alien stuff is ruff," to indirectly downplay all the work Tom has done. I love what Finn does, but he really needs to do more research sometimes and this is a fine example of that.
People have *got to* remember though that UFO means "unidentified flying object" and not "extraterrestrial flight craft." A cloud or a bird is a UFO is someone doesn't know what it is. People see things in the sky and don't know what they are. Doesn't mean aliens. It's the sensationalising of UFOs that's the problem and Tom does do that to some extent and the media then sensationalises Tom's sensationalism.
Tom Delonge is might not be the best guitarists but he has an ability to make something super simple yet memorable and iconic at the same time, also an amazing lyricists which he gets no credit especially being in 3 different bands
Tom's voice has a unique quality about it. He may not sing what one would think as "traditionally" well however, his voice holds your interest, and you want to hear it again.
90s Mustaine would be actually a serious contestant for A tier. Nickelback is actually good singer, not Audioslave or even Shinedown level, but he has good vocal timbre.

Barely listened to them before this except for a few songs my boyfriend plays sometimes. They put on a damn good show though! She's the scene version of Topanga, she's responsible for defining exactly what kind of girl a entire generation of guys was attracted to. Also yeah she's incredibly talented.
Asap rocky has higher rank than Gerard Way? Really? Gerard is so talented for these reasons: his vocals are not just good for emo or rock music. He sounds good in other genres too. Have you heard of his new black metal collab? Even if he hadn't performed for a long time, his vocals and screams improved. He's a talented artist and writer. Besides that, some mainstream artists are inspired by his band, MCR.
@Jody Ellison when you've got 20 years of being a fucking joke, your influence ki da stops. Not a single new popular act since AFI has been influenced by his work and they signed to a major in 2001
So I went to Emo Night the other day and the sheer amount of ppl in Blink shirts was insane. And MCR shirts. Those were the two bands tees I saw the most. & they had life-size cardboard cutouts of Gerard (black parade era) and Travis Barker (2000s). They also had Hayley & Olli. But yeah the crowd went crazy for BMTH, MCR and Blink. Fun times ngl.
When I met Danny warsnop a couple years ago he was so humble I was surprised. Idk if he always is that way but that was my experience with him. He still was somewhat of a partier but seemed to have his stuff together finally! Also Haley Williams is definitely s tear for me. Her vocals are astonishing at times
Danny is a mix bag in general I'd say he was A tier 2010, 2012-2013.... 2010 he was super energetic and had some great screams.. singing was average but he put on a show 2013 he was charismatic you gave him respect as soon as he walked on stage he just had presence about him and backed it up with awesome vocals...2016-17 when he returned B tier still great but not as good for both...now meh he's lost it
Danny Worsnop totally crushed it at the Mitch Lucker tribute show. It is a funny juxtaposition to show his solo stuff right afterward, like you gotta respect the dude's artistic range.
Adam Lazzara from Taking Back Sunday would be B-tier. Not the best live vocalist but he’s a god damn emo showman. Conducts his concerts like a mad southern preacher.
The problem is rappers aren't front men, because they don't lead a band, just like solo artist who only use studio/touring musicians. In order to be a front person you have to have a consistent band.
fun fact about Scott Stapp, I was at a venue to see No Use For A Name and Scott Stapp was playing a solo show in the same place...he brought TWO semi trucks. One with his gear for music and the other with all of his crosses and Jesus accessories.
No idea why you'd hesitate to be friends with a UFO believer... would make for the absolutely most hilarious conversation you can have with a real person.
If there is a part 2 I would love to see your takes on Billy Corgan, Liam Gallagher, Oliver Sykes, Chino Moreno, Maynard James Keenan, Damon Albarn, Thom Yorke, Lenny Kravitz, Ian Brown, Jack White, Alice Glass, Björk, Mike Shinoda
Tom Delonge seems like one of those dudes that somehow always smells good. Like even when he gets all gnarly and sweaty he probably still smells like laundry soap.
Des Moines was a crazy small scene especially pre 2000. Corey has a massive personality and charisma to burn. From the stories I’ve heard when I worked for Clown, Corey was an easy choice once Slipknot’s original vocalist didn’t work out.
wait a minute, the skill and charisma criteria barely even matter in this video. Finn really just wanted to talk about which singers he'd like to be friends with
If you do a second video I'd like to see your opinions on Freddie Mercury, Brian Johnson, Bon Scott, Lemmy, Ozzy, Dave Grohl, Caleb Shomo, Lzzy Hale, M Shadows, Taylor Momsen, Halsey, Yungblud, David Bowie, Prince, Post Malone, Maria Brink, Chris Motionless, Arianna Grande, Zac Brown, Oli Sykes, Chris Stapleton, Tech N9ne, Keith Urban....just to name a few lol
Your content is hilarious and always entertaining. Love it! Edit - would love to see Trent Reznor on your next list. Seems tough to rank. You’ve got stage Trent, who has to be A or S tier. Then you’ve got interview Trent, which is low energy and pretty uncharismatic. I love everything he’s ever created, but man he’s a weird, quiet dude.
I think Finn assumes that all Doom is Stoner Doom, and so he doesn’t consider any Doom band too much. I’m surprised he wasn’t on the list though. He was S Tier popularity wise when October Rust came out
I love that you mention calling the lead singer of the band by the band name! When I was a kid before I knew anything about music, I did that as well. For example, I thought singer of Led Zeppelin was Firstname: Led, Lastname: Zeppelin. Like dang man, that Led guy is a really good guitar player! I wanna be like him someday.
It's kinda weird. I don't see how Tom is in S but Gerard isn't. I don't see Tom as being better in anything. I'd still put Tom in S, but Gerard needs to be there too
In regards to Gerard: you gotta check out the vocals he did on Matt Heafys black metal side project...and yes I know that entire sentence sounds fake lol

Liam from the Cancer Bats, and Rody from Protest the Hero were some of my absolute favorite frontmen. Their stage presence was always insane, whether at the small venues or bigger venues like Heavy MTL. ❤
As I was reading comments, I thought of an interesting person to put on a tier. I would do Brian Fair of Shadows Fall, Not only does his vocal combo of growls and screams along with serious vocal ability intrigue, but, how interesting is a 6’3 guy with dreds down to the back of his calves.
Great tier list! I love the 3 criteria you had. I agreed with most of the list but my jaw dropped when you put Danny in C tier!! You're still cool tho :)
there's no way Avril or Tom Delonge are above Gerard Way. the guy IS emo music. think about their most recent reunion tour. sold out in under a minute. Angels and Airwaves was not that good and fell off, Avril is not a great singer, hell Phil Anselmo has lost his voice in his age mostly due to his life style. MCR isnt my favorite band but that guy was that band and that band was/is a behemoth
my bias would put Billie Joe Armstrong at S-Tier, but considering the wide world of leads i completely understand if he's A tier or B tier 1. he is definitely a stellar songwriter, while guitar is his preference he has shown chops with other instruments, from 1988-2005 his vocals were not exactly top tier but i love it and can sing along to it while from 2006-on his voice has evolved to a dynamic pop voice 2. excellent stage presence, gets the fans involved in the show, still very energetic but definitely not as wild nowadays as in 1993-1996. also anyone who saw the instagram response to someone stealing his car can say that he's got a really good head on his shoulders despite his drunken outburst on iHeartRadio (which i actually kinda liked) 3. i would want him to be my cool uncle who gets me into music. i also just look at his family life as an example of what i would want to strive for.
People to this day imitate Phil Anselmos crowd hyping, crowd speaking cadence, everyone from Lamb of God, to Throwdown, August Burns Red imitate it. Like his confidence in commanding a crowd is God tier
Officially throwing Danny Elfman in the ring. Dude is actually a pretty good singer, guitarist, percussionist, etc., and is super charismatic. If you ever had the chance to see Oingo Boingo live, or at the very least see some concert footage, you can clearly see how great he is. (Also, the rest of the band is freakishly good as well. They don't get taken seriously because, well, Boingo, but they are amazing.)
I have a soft spot for Sugar Ray. The band used SuperCat on Fly which was too….i dont know what. Too dangerous for white people so the radio would play the SuperCat free version. And he absolutely owned Music Jeopardy on VH1. It was like the far side comic with God winning.

This is a great series that should continue. Davey Havok, Eddie Vedder, Gwen Stefani just to name a few.
I think this whole channel is secretly just a Hailey Williams fan channel in disguise
I’m not really even a Paramore fan tbh. But how can you deny her importance?
She's the scene version of Topanga, she's responsible for defining exactly what kind of girl a entire generation of guys was attracted to. Also yeah she's incredibly talented.
Gets name dropped in 70 percent of the vids. It is what it is.
@@FinnMckentyPRMBA how can you not be a fan of paramore
Asap rocky has higher rank than Gerard Way? Really? Gerard is so talented for these reasons: his vocals are not just good for emo or rock music. He sounds good in other genres too. Have you heard of his new black metal collab? Even if he hadn't performed for a long time, his vocals and screams improved. He's a talented artist and writer. Besides that, some mainstream artists are inspired by his band, MCR.
You should look into how influential rocky is
@Jody Ellison Danzig has been a joke since 10 years before rocky's debut.
@Jody Ellison when you've got 20 years of being a fucking joke, your influence ki da stops. Not a single new popular act since AFI has been influenced by his work and they signed to a major in 2001
@Jody Ellison Danzig is quite influential but I wouldn't say that he's far more influential than Rocky lol
Lady Gaga is the blueprint for the modern pop star
2010 he was super energetic and had some great screams.. singing was average but he put on a show
2013 he was charismatic you gave him respect as soon as he walked on stage he just had presence about him and backed it up with awesome vocals...2016-17 when he returned B tier still great but not as good for both...now meh he's lost it
Danny Worsnop totally crushed it at the Mitch Lucker tribute show.
A true disciple of the Geoff Rickley School of Microphone Swinging.
I mean... He was...
Hello, Finn! I’m a huge fan of Blink-182, Paramore, and Lady Gaga! I would love for this idea to become a series! Have a great day!
As a hip hop head I was pleasantly surprised at how well you are tapped in / informed of ASAP Rocky’s importance & influence in hip hop culture 👍🏼
No idea why you'd hesitate to be friends with a UFO believer... would make for the absolutely most hilarious conversation you can have with a real person.
in an alternate universe , everybody respects nickelback because they became a metallica cover band instead of nickelback
Finn really just wanted to talk about which singers he'd like to be friends with
Not a valid criteria for me either.. I think great showmanship actually requires a certain amount of ego and arrogance.
If you do a second video I'd like to see your opinions on Freddie Mercury, Brian Johnson, Bon Scott, Lemmy, Ozzy, Dave Grohl, Caleb Shomo, Lzzy Hale, M Shadows, Taylor Momsen, Halsey, Yungblud, David Bowie, Prince, Post Malone, Maria Brink, Chris Motionless, Arianna Grande, Zac Brown, Oli Sykes, Chris Stapleton, Tech N9ne, Keith Urban....just to name a few lol
Found your channel a couple months ago. Great stuff, Finn. Appreciate the content.
Oh man, I can't wait for more of this! Do like an hour long episode and I'd be down.
Phil Anselmo whom with Pantera kept Heavy Metal breathing during the early to late 90's
If you do a part 2, I would love to hear your thoughts on Peter Steele from Type O Negative.
I've never heard him mention TypeO ever.
I think Finn assumes that all Doom is Stoner Doom, and so he doesn’t consider any Doom band too much. I’m surprised he wasn’t on the list though. He was S Tier popularity wise when October Rust came out
I'd like to see another one with Davey Havok and Bert McCracken
I love that you mention calling the lead singer of the band by the band name! When I was a kid before I knew anything about music, I did that as well. For example, I thought singer of Led Zeppelin was Firstname: Led, Lastname: Zeppelin. Like dang man, that Led guy is a really good guitar player! I wanna be like him someday.
Same 😂
“S Is is for the simping
Ex is for my ex left me for her best friend she said not to worry about”
- Virgin Kroeger
This is the first video I've seen of you. And you absolutely killed it. S tier
Thank you!
Gerard way deserves the top tier!! Tom Delonge has nothing on Gerard
He just not chad enough for Finn.
I like both bands and Tom is way cooler. I’d like to hang out with Tom. I’d never want to hang out with Gerard
It's kinda weird. I don't see how Tom is in S but Gerard isn't. I don't see Tom as being better in anything. I'd still put Tom in S, but Gerard needs to be there too
"Do I want to be friends with them?" is still the greatest ranking metric I've ever heard
In regards to Gerard: you gotta check out the vocals he did on Matt Heafys black metal side project...and yes I know that entire sentence sounds fake lol
9:06 this is how I dressed every day in high school in the early 2000s. Underneath was a long sleeve then I had a t shirt on
Good to see some GaGa appreciation, there are so few artists that can diversify so much and pull it off the way that she does.
Love all your stuff, bro! This channel is getting closer to 100k too
My favourite vocalists are
Layne Staley of AIC
Travis Meeks of Days Of The New
Shaun Morgan of Seether
Sully Erna of Godsmack
Anneke Van Giersbergern of The Gathering
Sharon Den Adel of Within Temptation
Simone Simons of Epica
Some great vocalists are
Kurt Cobain of Nirvana
Chris Cornell of Soundgarden
Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam
Chris Weiland of STP
Trent Reznor of NIN
Amy Lee of Evanescence
Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins
Maynard James Keenan of Tool and A Perfect Circle
Mike Patton of Faith No More and Mr Bungle
Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge
Brent Smith of Shinedown
Zack De La Rocha of RATM
Chino Moreno of Deftones
Some underrated vocalists are
Pete Loeffler of Chevelle
Lajon Witherspoon of Sevendust
Sonny Sandoval of P.O.D
Hugo Ferreira of Tantric
Raine Maida of Our Lady Peace
Hahahaha Corey Taylor was mentioned first! I knew I loved your channel for a reason!
Liam from the Cancer Bats, and Rody from Protest the Hero were some of my absolute favorite frontmen. Their stage presence was always insane, whether at the small venues or bigger venues like Heavy MTL. ❤
Plus Liam is a fucking RAD dude too
@@dtucker666 absolutely!! Definitely a guy you'd want to hang with.
dude Haley Williams is an absolute monster. He voice live is so big and so strong I'm not even sure she was using a microphone
Its cool to see this channel hit 75k subs! Last time I payed attention it was half that. Good shit Finn 👍
danny isnt the best frontman but he is one hell of a vocalist! look at his recent performances of into the fire!
Top 5 frontmen!
1- Jon Davis
2- chester Bennington
3- Brent Smith
4- Cory Taylor
5- Bert McCracken
Front person tier list WITHOUT DAVE GROHL??????? Dude is tier on its own... You've gotta make part 2 of this with Dave
I was just saying this too! LOL
Avril Lavigne is definitely a great singer.
Do some research please.
I always watch your videos before I go into work. Every time I see a new video it makes me happy. Thank you for the content ❤
Thank you!
i would switch out Mark McGrath or A$AP Rocky for Gerard Way but other than that pretty solid list
“Do I want to have them over to watch UFC and look at TikToks together??”
That’s fucking hilarious. Much appreciated Finn your takes are on point.
my bias would put Billie Joe Armstrong at S-Tier, but considering the wide world of leads i completely understand if he's A tier or B tier
1. he is definitely a stellar songwriter, while guitar is his preference he has shown chops with other instruments, from 1988-2005 his vocals were not exactly top tier but i love it and can sing along to it while from 2006-on his voice has evolved to a dynamic pop voice
2. excellent stage presence, gets the fans involved in the show, still very energetic but definitely not as wild nowadays as in 1993-1996. also anyone who saw the instagram response to someone stealing his car can say that he's got a really good head on his shoulders despite his drunken outburst on iHeartRadio (which i actually kinda liked)
3. i would want him to be my cool uncle who gets me into music. i also just look at his family life as an example of what i would want to strive for.
3:59 Forgive me, but what does Corey Taylor think about this?
If Gerad Way isn't S tier I am going to have stern words Sir.
People to this day imitate Phil Anselmos crowd hyping, crowd speaking cadence, everyone from Lamb of God, to Throwdown, August Burns Red imitate it. Like his confidence in commanding a crowd is God tier
Caleb shomo is the best front man I’ve ever seen live. That dude is a straight up rock star and had the crowd going absolutely nuts.
Love this idea finn!
We all know Finn would never cover Danny Elfman
@@ForestDumper666 Well, no, but that doesn't mean we should stop trying.
You gotta do a pt.2 and put Fat Mike on there. Loved hearing you on his pod.
OMG how isn't Gerard an S!?? As a millenial I feel really upset
Finns getting those second channel sponsors now. Nice!!
Horror, comics and Danzig, 3 of my favourite things 🙈😂
Imagine Mark McGrath just enters the comments and says “nahh I wasn’t busy, i just didn’t want you” my heart would shatter for finn
Kings of Leon is at an absolute GOD TIER and all live recordings back it up. Absolutely mind numbing.
I wish I could catch these live streams, they seem like so much fun.
I have a soft spot for Sugar Ray. The band used SuperCat on Fly which was too….i dont know what. Too dangerous for white people so the radio would play the SuperCat free version.
And he absolutely owned Music Jeopardy on VH1. It was like the far side comic with God winning.
Mark McGrath was the OG gigachad
@@real30yearoldboomerhours53 omg youre right. Would that make him like the TeraChad?
Funniest part about homie from creed singing the national anthem at the homestead speed is that I’m from there and homie being there for a nascar race just makes so much sense
...but the real question is: What does Corey Taylor think of this list?!
