Inconsistent offense or poor roster construction? I watched the interview with Scott Harris the other day and it's clear the glacial pace of rebuild will continue. He kept coming back to how hard it is for young players to hit major league hitting and there are examples around the league. There's also many examples of young players who can hit big league pitching in Cleveland, Kansas City and Baltimore. Patience, everyone. Just a little more patience. Sure, out of the smoldering embers of this season, a better Detroit Tigers team will rise. We are going to party in 2029!
If Montero is the best we have in Toledo, then Detroit would be insane to move any of their starting pitchersnat trade deadline. That would be a sure sogn that the Detroit Tigers are not serious about competing. AJ should have started McKinstry. The so called organizational starting pitching depth does not exist. Yet, people are calling for a Flaherty, & even some, a Skubal trade. Then we we rest our fate with the newly signed seasoned veteran Kenta Maeda. If we could get Ruth, Mantle & Mays in return we got a chance to go places. Thanks Scott. Go Tigers!
Im a Tiger fan and was happy to be wrong about Mark Canha in April. I predicted when he was signed he would bat sub 200, that he would be DFA'd in August and that Milwaukee could not have given him away with his 11.5 million contract. I also said the 10 million from the Meijer patches on Tiger uniforms was just flushed down the toilet with this signing. Hes 35 and finished last year poorly last 50 atbats zero homers 1 walk. If he was signed like Urshella for 2 million i wouldnt have liked it but 11 million blew my mind. To think Canha was signed instead of Bellinger is emblematic of the Tiger season. As for Veirling, he needs to lose that initial top of bat move forrward. The bottom of the bat needs to point at the pitcher early in swing, he delays this by doing the opposite- pointing the top of the bat toward the pitcher. For example, K'bryan Hayes also uses this Veirling move and look how hes batting. Im convinced the minor league hitting instruction is much better than the MLB level instruction. Both Tork and Meadows made mechanical improvements at Toledo.
One more thought...to play devil's advocate for Harris in regard to bringing in Major League talent, last year's free agent group was pretty shallow. And I can't imagine other teams are clamoring to trade for many of the guys on this 40 man roster.
According to Scott Harris, the Tigers are not serious about winning; they can't be. Our team is simply using this MLB season to see what they have. So, sad to say, 2024 was never about winning. I'm finally getting it.
Dombrowski: everywhere he has gone, the teams go to the World Series. Then, he gets hated for bankrupting the minors. Our brass, on the other hand, is so inferior at working with the big boys in making deals, also, seemingly, at developing big league talent. I was excited to get Hinch, but we've been ruining him. Who will want to come to Detroit. Hinch's redemption could be had if we can get a good third baseman from Houston. We need a Chris Speilman type who has an eye for bringing in top brass and development team. Entice Shelia Ford to buy the team. I also think Comerica needs to be reconfigured. It has the wrong Feng Shui. And, all pricing of souvenirs, etc. is outlandish. Can't wait for the return of Carpenter!
Bring back Torkelson and Meadows! Why not? It can't get much worse.
Hey who was the other guy doing locked on tigers? Was on earlier
I think there was a brief tear in the fabric of space and time, leading to a glimpse at another reality

I'll be dead by 2029😮

No more leadoff homeruns. Everytime they leadoff with a homerun, they can't ever score after that.

I also like the versatility of Vierling. Good piece to stick around.
The Tigers suck… great job jinxing them! Great job taking 3 of 4 in the series! 😂
You really think they think they will take 3 of 4 against the Angels? I don’t know…
