oh yeah i hate when i bring my Legend Trilogy and my Divergent Trilogy to school and all my friends are like ''Just like the hunger games'' when i tell them the synopsis. OK. This is so true. I love classic books, and I don't care if anyone else only reads classics, or only reads certain novels. But don't scoff MY books when you haven't even read it! I get that people only like certain books, but if you don't read fantasy and you see me reading a fantasy book, don't ask me about it and then turn up your nose! Just mind your own business. And it's so obvious when the person isn't genuinely interested, they just want to talk about what books they like and why they're better. It's annoying. Read whatever books you want and let me do the same.
Scenario 3 always happens to me. I watched Divergent with my family. I was telling them the synopsis and my dad was just like, "So, it's basically just like The Hunger Games." The struggle. smh
I KNOW my friend kept on saying no to reading it just because he thought it was like the Hunger Games... And he hates the hunger games.... I'm not his friend anymore
Someone in my class watched the movie(since she's apparently too cool to read-_-)and said it was exactly like the Hunger Games how they fight to the death and I was thinking were you watching the same movie as I was?
my other friend said that TMI and Twilight are the same. She also said that all sci fi books are the same and she hates PJO and fantasy. and I'm there like what do you do with your life
One of my friends say that I say that I read too much. And where I live a lot of people hate reading and only like the Hunger Games, the Hunger Games is not the best book in the world.
I was at the dentist in the waiting room and there was 13-14yr old kid reading Champion. I so desperately wanted to ask what part he was at how much he liked the series but his mother was already giving me the eye for staring at him, welp. THE STRUGGLE.
This made me laugh so hard! Another thing is when someone asks you what you're reading and what it's about and you start trying to explain it and then they just cut you off in the middle of you're explanation or start talking to someone else and you're like why would you ask me if you're not even going to listen to what I'm saying go away
Whenever someone asks me what Im reading I always say, "a book." If they then proceed to ask me what type of book or what book I say "a book book." If they say what type of book book I say "a book book book" and so on. So yeah I never have that problem.
Almost all of my friends are the I don't read books guy and I'm just like why?! I have made two of them read The Fault in Our Stars and now they're reading almost constently
My teacher is the pretentious pita. I was reading It's Kind of a Funny Story in class, and he grabs the book, reads the back, and laughs at me. Later that day, he proceeds to email me and tell me how about the books I read are trash, have no substance, and calls them "weird and a waste of time." Then, he emails me a list of classics that I 'have' to read and tells me 'you'll never want to read that trash again after you head Hemingway' i. was. DONE. needless to say I read none of those books and continued reading. He's the most pretentious person ever. I can't.
Bay Hester WHO THE HECK IS THIS PERSON.....Like Oh my goodness I am so sorry!....And a suggestion? DONT read Hemingway. I did...and lets just say I'd rather read Fifty Shades of Grey again than suffer through one more page of Hemingway.
Raven Moriarty It's good to try classics though. Some of Hemingway is quite dry but from a literary perspective he's a genius. Don't knock all classics because you didn't like one.
I hate when people are like,'Oh MAH GOD. Reading is like SO boring. Like I have read like half of this book in the past 6 months, it's SO boring.' And I'm just like, have fun in college pea brain, if you ever get there.
I've been coaching my cousin to read The Hunger Games. And she has been putting it off for a YEAR, I got a text from her a few weeks ago and she said "I've started reading The Hunger Games! I've read the first THREE PAGES and its SOOOOO BORINGGGG!" THE BOOK IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE AMAZING IN THE FIRST THREE PAGES!
Y'knowwwww.... I hate when people are like "It's like Twilight." too Like NOO Twilight isn't the only series in existence. Broaden your horizons people.
I swear every time someone comes up to me asking and I know they are not really interested, the conversation goes like this: "Hey, whatcha reading?" "A book." *looks at me weirdly and walks away* MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. You don't care, don't ask me! Because you'll get my sarcastic response.
Wow, Christine you're so accurate! It's like people who absoutley love to read books are the most alike, and have so much in common! I mostly come across people with the scenario "C". I can always tell when people are just trying to strike up a conversation, but when they ask this question "What's it about?", and they aren't genuinely interested I just feel disturbed, and when I'm explaining... I'm positive you can hear the annoyance in my voice all the way from South Africa, and if they compare the book to another I usually feel as if I could just explode from frustration. Don't get me wrong, I love ranting about what the book is about, but only to a person who's truly intrigued by what I'm reading, and when I see someone reading a book that I read...I just get so excited! I love to hear people's thoughts about what they read, as long as I read it too.
yup, when I was in high school, I'd pick out my own novels to read from the library while my friend was more into the popular young adult books, so she'd be reading things like Twilight, The Host, The Vampire Diaries, Vampire Academy, (and yes The Mortal Instruments which I did grow to love, and none of these did I ever judge because I ended up reading some of them too). But I would read either murder mystery novels or action/adventure types that weren't really known to anyone, they were more like random stories and I would just pick one and most of the time I enjoyed it. She'd take one look at the cover and title, knowing absolutely nothing about it or what genre it even was and she would just scoff and be like "have fun with THAT" as if it was just the stupidest book ever. Pissed me off and put me in a bad mood every time.
scoffer: "What are you reading?" me: "Heroes of Olympus." scoffer: "What's it about?" me: (explains what HoO is about) scoffer: "so basically, it's greek Harry Potter." me: "well, not really..." scoffer: "sounds like Harry Potter." me: (facepalm)
Oh god! This is SO true! I dared to mention that I love the Percy Jackson series to a friend of mine, who had NEVER picked up one of those books and he went like "Uuum, Percy Jackson? Those are total children books! Only seven year olds read those books!!" And he also things harry potter is childish and Lord of the Rings is waaaay better... I'm SO fed up with his pretentious scoffing. It makes me wanna sew his mouth shut!
There was this one time I was at my aunt's house in Michigan and her boyfriend's dad came over and they were watching football while I was reading and he goes "What the hell are you doing?" like I should be watching football instead of reading. I was like "wtf is wrong with you" and then big surprise, literally no one took my side
Just the other day I was sitting in the campus lounge. One of my classmates sat down beside me and we started talking about school and then like our favorite things that help take away school stress. I said I like reading for fun and they just stare at me for a long time and then scoff
I definitely did this when I saw a girl reading TFIOS. She was at the end and I literally just watched her from afar to check for tears. It was so fascinating. Afterwards, we got into a conversation about it and it was wonderful.
oh I think we would be such great friends... I LOVE BOOKS!!!!! Everytime someone holds up divergent, I go nuts and have to control myself from spewing out every detail about the book. LOVE YOU.
Yeah almost everyone in my class don't read and I'm like why?!!! And they're like "because" or "movies are way better. Books are boring" or"I don't time to read". It's so frustrating!!
My mom is not only a MAJOR catergory 2 scoffer, but she is VEHEMENTLY opposed to anything containing magic or 'unbiblical' ideas about the supernatural. So I'll be reading Clockwork Angel and she'll be sitting next to me reading The Lamplighter, and I, just trying to make conversation, will say "You know, maybe you should read this. It has a ton of references to all the classics you like in it", and she'll ask what it is, and the second I get into Nephilim and demons, the scoffing begins....
Me and my friend were trying to explain The Mortal Instruments to these guys and they said: Wow, such a good message for the children. Cutting themselves to gain powers. No. No. just stop seriously. THEY DON'T CUT THEMSELVES!! AHH! ASDFJKE'SDSALKFJWAEO . Them: Why don't the angels just go down and kill the demons instead of have shadowhunters. -_- The things i go through..
Yo I have a REALLY close friend who isn't a reader but constantly asks me what I'm reading and what the book I'm reading is about. WHY DOES HE FEIGN INTEREST. It's beyond me. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
OMG I'm just like you I've read like 1/3 of the books you have and i react the same you do when people ask you to tell them about a book you are reading and then you don't know how to explain, i also get all excited when i see someone reading a book i like and then i start asking them all this questions. my best friend and i talk about books all time and we get all excited about them and others just look at us like we are crazy. :) :) LOVE YOU
Omg people do this all the time in class ahhhh like with Divergent their just like that's so weird and is a copy of Hunger Games now they love it because it's a movie and it's cool and I'm just like ( cough behind cough )
Yah this kid whi sits next to me in class said that the City of Lost Souls was just Twilight. I was so mad that i didnt even have a snarky comeback. Like for real who exactly is reading the book? Did you even read Twilight? I DIDNT THINK SO!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO ACCURATE. Even my friends sometimes, will ask me what I'm reading, and then when I start to explain they just stop caring or listening and at first I'm like "I know it sounds weird but it's really good" but then they just blatantly ignore me and I'm just like "I COULD HAVE BEEN READING IF YOU HADN'T INTERRUPTED ME FOR NO REASON"
Yesterday on the train I sat opposite a woman who was reading and I could read upside down that it was The Fault in our Stars (because yess I am guilty of reading that book more than once) and it was so awkward because I was just doubting the whole time if I could just ask her if she liked it or on what page she was 'cause I would have loved that, but I was just afraid she find me a little freaky haha Great video! I love your channel!
This video may just be the most relatable video I have ever watched on UA-cam! I hate book scoffers!! I also hate when you are reading this amazing book but you don't have anyone to talk to about all your feelings its hard!
The whole recognize book across room , ask person what part their on thingy happened to me today. The Clockwork Angel , I know Will anywhere , you can not just not recognize that beautiful cover . I think I creep-ed the girl out ..... oh well , I couldn't just sit there while she was talking to her dad , I couldn't just ignore the presence of that Magnificent book !!!!! I had to make some sort of comment , so I understand ! GREAT VIDEO , LOVE IT !!!! :D
Im 11 and whenever i read in public people are like "arent you supposed to be playing like other kids" ugh how does it affect whether u play ir not its none of your buisness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
I have a friend that's basically scenario 2 only instead of classics it's adult novels. Whenever we go to the bookstore, I head straight to YA and she's in the adult section and when she finally comes over to the YA section, she picks at one book, scoffs, and stands there while I'm awkwardly trying to find a book that she won't scoff at
lol Loved the Beatle's analogy! That cracked me up. You should read and review Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card if you haven't already, and if you ever get the chance. It's been my favorite since I was a kid and was so excited to hear they're going to make it into a movie. I'd love to hear what you think about it!
This is so true!!! this constatly happens to me when I try to explain what the book I'm reading is really about, I get so frustrated because I can't make my points get across about how AMAZING they really are, I swear I look like a fumbling fool!
Two months ago, my classmates and I are in the library practicing our graduation song and I was reading a book I borrowed from the library (two days before graduation) and I was worried that I can't return it in time (so I was listening and singing quietly while reading). And our librarian called me to stand up and sing because I wasn't paying attention and the whole library was quiet. And I said: Mam, I need to finish this book. Or else, I can't return it to you. She was a bit embarrassed and became quiet.
Same exact thing happened with me today in English class. The person next to me judged Never Fade by Alexandra Bracken. Said it was like Twilight -_- I don't hate on Twilight because I never read it. OPEN YOUR MIND PEOPLE!
+Rachita Ghose what the frack? Isn't Never Fade part of the Darkest Minds? That person is clearly on drugs. I didn't read Never Fade because DM was too depressing for me but I know it's almost nothing like Twilight. Yeesh.
Personally I disliked twilight, but I would never go so far as to compare it to something else or diss it because I'm the only one who doesn't like it.
This video is the story of my life!!! Every time I try to explain anything that is happening in the shadowhunter books I get that same look!! It sucks so bad when no one around you reads so no one GETS IT!!!! ARRRGHHHH!!!!
When people ask me what I am reading I just hold up the cover and continue reading when they ask what it's about I read the synopsis on the back of the book.
Once I was in the park and this kid walked past holding Mark of Athena and I flipped and ran up to him and was all like "Dude you reading this what part you on is it good omg you won't believe the end keep reading OMGSH" and he thought I was crazy and trying to steal his money... :( yup...yeah I don't have good experiences with socializing...
whenever I explain to my dad what I'm reading he's like "sounds just like hunger games, all those books are based off of hunger games" -_- and last week this kid who only reads classics asked me what my book was about (the darkest minds) and I was like trying so hard to make it sound cool
Whenever I describe a book to a non-reading person, it always turns out to be the least interesting thing on Earth. And I just can't get them stop comparing Divergent to HG!!!
So, my brother is one of my best friends. I love him, but one day I'm explaining The Lunar Chronicles, one of my all time favorite series, to him, and he's just like "that's so young adult". As if all young adult books are the same thing and not as good as other books. He's one of the people who only read classics
im with you trying to look over some1s shoulder scared to ask what part they r on I did that at school one time he stood at me like I was insain and im like 'yeah im just going 2 go now' and walked a away right into a locker XD
Luckily most of my friends are writers, once were writers, or like reading. Like my brother doesn't bother asking, since he doesn't read. But he's patient and listens (most of the time) to my explanation. But for acquaintances and extended family...Yes. Just YES!
K, let me tell you something I think I need to watch all of your videos now!! I just finished the Indigo spell (didn't like it, btw) and I LOVE Daughter of Smoke and Bone/ Days of Blood and Starlight. I'm dying here waiting for the third book!!!!! Basically, I love your taste in books.
If I see anyone else reading a book I've read I go a little crazy... Asking them their favourite characters, otp, what part they're up to, if they have any other books by the author... I go on and on and on :D I love your videos, favourited most of your videos - Another Fangirl xx
Oh my gosh I do that creepy looking over the should/ staring at them waning to ask them what they are up to thing as well! I'm like...oh my gosh I've read that book we can be friends and have intellectual fan girl discussions about it and just spread our love of books! Its like I have an instinct where ii just cant see someone reading a book I've read and not talk to them about it.
I agree with the explanation part. Especially if I'm reading like the 3rd or 4th book in a series; I can't necessarily tell them without explaining the first few books which in turn prolongs my explanation and I just give up and say "it's hard to explain."
Oh kay yeah after I'm finished with MoA I was planning on reading CoB so I'll be introduced to him. After that Ill complete the HP series and then complete the TMI/TDI series which might take a WHILE.
Ive done it before during class. The kid who was sitting next to me was reading blood of olympus and since i already read it i asked what part are you on and by his face you could tell he was rhinking wow weirdo
I feel for you man. I may or may not started growling at the people who are like, "So its like Twilight" or, "So its like the Hunger Games?" There are so many more dystopian novels out there! And so many more Fantasies! Grrrr!
It comforts me to know that I'm not the only one who somehow always makes a really awesome, amazing book sound like the lamest and stupidest thing ever. Especially when explaining it to someone who is judging me. I just usually end up making it worse for myself.
i always try to get people around me read the books that i love. and for me friends it worked. i always try to explain it for them like i know they would like it. if the person like lovestorys, i tell her about clary and jace and how complicated it is for them etc. if the person likes action i tell her about all the fights about valentine etc that worked with my friends. but for strangers wo are just book scoffers i have no plan either
"What book are you reading?"
Me: *raises book a little higher to show cover and continues to read*
same
Same
Soph Summers Yup.
I do that sometimes but I usually reply with "a book"
Yep.
I hate when I'm being all emotional over a book, or television show, and someone has the nerve to say, "You know, it's not real..." I like to quote Dumbledore at them - "Just because it's only happening in my head, doesn't mean it isn't real."
Oye. If you couldn't get emotionally invested in fiction, there would be no point.
You know Dumbledore is the best quoter ever
One time I was just sitting there in my school reading. A girl in my class jjust walks up to me, and whispers "oh. my. GOD!" in a VERY worried tone, so *naturally* I turn around and I'm like "WHAT? WHAT HAPPENED?! ARE YOU OKAY? IS THERE A SPIDER"
But no! Oh no no no, it got *worse* she just gaped at me and said "I don't remember this homework.." I mean seriously I just can't anymore....
I suggest reading as a fun activity in school and they all stare at me. I'm sat there like you got a problem? Stupid mundanes.
Mundanes, muggles, mortals, etc
I AGREE
MUGGLE FOOLS!
Suggestion for anyone who has a hard time with the Scenario C issue and making things not sound ridiculous, try focusing on the human element first.
City of Bones - a girl's mom is kidnapped by her dad who she thought was dead and she has to find a way to save her.
Hunger Games - a girl's little sister is going to be taken away and probably killed by their country's government so the girl offers to take her place.
Daughter of Smoke & Bone - a girl helps her weird adopted family collect animal teeth that her dad needs for a war she doesn't know anything about.+
Generally focus on the main character's personal investment in the situation (and what that situation is first) because that makes people ask questions, and you can go on from there.
+That one is a little complicated since we technically have 2 main characters...
+Cathryn Martin THIS HELPS SO MUCH THANK YOU. (Scenario C is my biggest and most frequent issue.)
That's such a good tip!!
today i was in barnes and nobel and i was buying the first harry potter book (because im late on the harry potter train) and they were in the childrens section. the lady was with her daughter and the mom goes up to my mom asks if i was retarted because im 14 and reading childrens books. then the lady at the register asked me if i wanted to buy a book more my age. i hate those people there terrible!!!!
I'm late too.. And it's none of their business what makes you happy. People are so nosy and judgmental
I hate those people. If they actually read the bookd they would know that he gets older and there are 7 books. Ughh. Its not even childrens anymore after a few of them
I'm 18 and I still visit the Children's section lol
Cubing Gal My sister is 22 and has 8 copys of the first book and has read the entire series!! PEOPLE CAN BE SO STUPID!!!!
Cubing Gal OMG THATS TERRIBLE
The worst was when I was reading the Warriors series in middle school.
"What's it about?"
"Well, it's about um, cats that live in a forest...?"
Love this video xtine! Spoken like a true book lover.
Hannah Daniels Same. The other kids were snobby and like oh Redwall (by Brian Jacques) is better!
I know I read it and people were like look at those lame kitties and I was yelling in my head because they made fun of Yellowfang and hey they can read what they want and I will read what I want!!!!

I'm just kidding around XD and it is not what he literally said, since our language is Arabic :) he said it a bit nicer than it sounded
Puff and Fluff *YARA* My dad makes a big joke out of it. "I remember when I killed my first fictional character." And he says it in such a way that I can't stop laughing.
+Puff and Fluff wait you are arabic ??? 😳😳 me too !! Where are you from ?? Omg
Kenza Nassiri I'm from Palestine, I am Jordanian, and I live in the UAE XD
I was at class and then I felt someone standing beside me. Realizing it was the teacher.
THEN SHE RANDOMLY FLIPPED MY BOOK TO SEE THE BOOK COVER. (then was all like, "excuse me") GOOD THING SHE SAVED THE PAGE WHERE I WAS READING. SO YEAH I THINK SHES GOOD ENOUGH.
until she said these phrase..
"So what are you suppose to learn from that?" Like she's almost scoffing at my "UNEDUCATED" book.
IT'S A BOOK. YOU CAN LEARN THINGS FROM EVERY BOOK YOU READ! WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS IS? YOU CAN EVEN LEARN STUFF FROM COMICS YOU FUC-
DAMMIT.
Exactly, you can learn even from 50 shades of grey- don't get into toxic relationships. BOOM.
+Stanisław Grabowski I was gonna say that about Twilight.
@@stanisawgrabowski6256 AHAHAHA TRUE!
books increase your intelligence by having you predict outcomes by looking past small details which also leads to higher critical thinking
i have this friend and she's genuinely a booklover but she doesn't read anything mainstream and i am so done with her scoffing. so so done. lets not talk about books ever

I feel you.
Those people are annoying.
In school there was a girl behind me reading the book thief. So because i love that book i turned around and said "Oh your reading book thief, I love that book". And the girl says to me "I have to read it for an assignement, is BORING, tell me about it" my reaction is "What?" and she says again "tell me about the book, i dont wanna read it". I was of course offened, and said no, then turned back around.

Whenever someone asks me what Im reading I always say, "a book."
If they then proceed to ask me what type of book or what book I say "a book book."
If they say what type of book book I say "a book book book" and so on.
So yeah I never have that problem.
Almost all of my friends are the I don't read books guy and I'm just like why?! I have made two of them read The Fault in Our Stars and now they're reading almost constently
You go and teach them good habits!! :-)
I really do not understand people who just refuse to read books, and then act like they're better than everyone else. Why????
Scarlet Nightingale Haha, I used to be like that! They'll never know how good books are until they start reading them
That's why whenever someone asks me
"Hey, whatcha reading?" I don't look up from my book and say "Words."
Yep city of bones is officially the hardest book to explain to someone!
I just end up giving them the book so they can read the blurb themselves so I don't have to waste my breath
Oh no I'm not knocking all classics! Some of my favorites are classics! Just not Hemingway. :)
Raven Moriarty Have you read a Farewell to Arms?
I have not. The most I know about it is the scene in Silver Linings Playbook when the main character throws it out the window.
I hate when people are like "It's like Twilight." too
Like NOO
Twilight isn't the only series in existence.
Broaden your horizons people.
I swear every time someone comes up to me asking and I know they are not really interested, the conversation goes like this:
"Hey, whatcha reading?"
"A book."
*looks at me weirdly and walks away*
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
You don't care, don't ask me! Because you'll get my sarcastic response.
Nice response!!!
OH MY GODS YOU UNDERSTANDDDDDDDDDD I DO THAT WITH THE "Which part are you at??" AND SUCH
yup, when I was in high school, I'd pick out my own novels to read from the library while my friend was more into the popular young adult books, so she'd be reading things like Twilight, The Host, The Vampire Diaries, Vampire Academy, (and yes The Mortal Instruments which I did grow to love, and none of these did I ever judge because I ended up reading some of them too). Pissed me off and put me in a bad mood every time.
scoffer: "What are you reading?"
me: "Heroes of Olympus."
scoffer: "What's it about?"
me: (explains what HoO is about)
scoffer: "so basically, it's greek Harry Potter."
me: "well, not really..."
scoffer: "sounds like Harry Potter."
me: (facepalm)
facepalm? More like punching them in the face. Harry Potter and PJ are two completely different series, and both are amazing :)...
I prefer to refrain from physical violence, but aside from that I totally agree.
Me: "phfff stupid mortal"
This is the story of my life!!! Every freaking person does that to me!!! Now I only talk about books to annoy my brother....
Every 3rd number, throw in a letter
1 2 c
Perfect counting skills
RandomSam what???
I think it's because her name is Christine
New way of counting. 1, 2, C.
hahahahhahahaha
There was this one time I was at my aunt's house in Michigan and her boyfriend's dad came over and they were watching football while I was reading and he goes "What the hell are you doing?" like I should be watching football instead of reading. I was like "wtf is wrong with you" and then big surprise, literally no one took my side
Just the other day I was sitting in the campus lounge. One of my classmates sat down beside me and we started talking about school and then like our favorite things that help take away school stress.
I said I like reading for fun and they just stare at me for a long time and then scoff
Who else thought of I Hate Everything when they heard the music at the beginning?
Me!
I definitely did this when I saw a girl reading TFIOS. She was at the end and I literally just watched her from afar to check for tears. It was so fascinating. Afterwards, we got into a conversation about it and it was wonderful.
and this is why i always have instrumental music in my iPod every time i want to read a book in public
oh I think we would be such great friends...
Books are better than movies but reading requires more effort...... They just are lazy
When people say Divergent is like thg.... 😡😡
I can relate to this on so many levels
I'm so lucky I have a friend that reads a lot of the same books XD
Me and my friend were trying to explain The Mortal Instruments to these guys and they said: Wow, such a good message for the children. Cutting themselves to gain powers. No. No. just stop seriously. THEY DON'T CUT THEMSELVES!! AHH! ASDFJKE'SDSALKFJWAEO . Them: Why don't the angels just go down and kill the demons instead of have shadowhunters. -_- The things i go through..
Everytime I try to explain a distopian or a fantasy book. I overexplain it and end up talking/spoiling way too much.....
Have you read Wings by Aprilynne Pike? If you haven't - its really good and you should give it a go.
Yo I have a REALLY close friend who isn't a reader but constantly asks me what I'm reading and what the book I'm reading is about. WHY DOES HE FEIGN INTEREST. It's beyond me.
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
You never fail to have my same reactions, which makes me love your videos even more!
LOVE YOU
When people ask me what I'm reading I just hold up the book so they can see the cover.
you make me feel like I'm not alone in this. I hate how all 3 pf those scenarios have happened to me.
Omg people do this all the time in class ahhhh like with Divergent their just like that's so weird and is a copy of Hunger Games now they love it because it's a movie and it's cool and I'm just like ( cough behind cough )
just marathoned some of your rant videos again. XD they make me laugh every time!!!!! I wish there were more!
Of those special, really nice covers. Which made it look like a classic
PREACH IT CHRISTINE!!!!!
for C I always am trying to describe Phoenix files... and it so confusing that i can't describe it, but its amazing
Going through the comments of this vid gives me so much joy lol. They’re so relatable!
Yesterday on the train I sat opposite a woman who was reading and I could read upside down that it was The Fault in our Stars (because yess I am guilty of reading that book more than once) and it was so awkward because I was just doubting the whole time if I could just ask her if she liked it or on what page she was 'cause I would have loved that, but I was just afraid she find me a little freaky haha
Great video! I love your channel!
This video may just be the most relatable video I have ever watched on UA-cam! I hate book scoffers!! I also hate when you are reading this amazing book but you don't have anyone to talk to about all your feelings its hard!
I absolutely love all of this. Thank you for making my day!
I was reading To Kill A Mockingbird and this girl scoffed at it and I picked a fight with her. FULFILLING.
Are you going to make a video for The Evolution of Mara Dyer? Because I love it and I want to hear your take on it.
I love that you made this video so much!
Im 11 and whenever i read in public people are like "arent you supposed to be playing like other kids" ugh how does it affect whether u play ir not its none of your buisness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
I think you sold me on the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series.
The Days of blood and starlight/twilight scenario happened to me in THE SAME EXACT WAY the other day! I got so mad lol...
Yeesh.
I WILL HUNT THEM DOWN AND FORCE THEM TO READ IT THEY DO NOT INSULT THAT SERIES OR THEY WILL "ACCIDENTALLY" END UP IN THE BOTTOM OF A LAKE
yup...yeah I don't have good experiences with socializing...
Just ordered a new box set of the mortal instruments. Exciteddd
whenever I explain to my dad what I'm reading he's like "sounds just like hunger games, all those books are based off of hunger games" -_- and last week this kid who only reads classics asked me what my book was about (the darkest minds) and I was like trying so hard to make it sound cool
Whenever I describe a book to a non-reading person, it always turns out to be the least interesting thing on Earth. And I just can't get them stop comparing Divergent to HG!!!
Your squeeky voice is so awesome! :D
So, my brother is one of my best friends. I love him, but one day I'm explaining The Lunar Chronicles, one of my all time favorite series, to him, and he's just like "that's so young adult". As if all young adult books are the same thing and not as good as other books. He's one of the people who only read classics
im with you trying to look over some1s shoulder scared to ask what part they r on I did that at school one time he stood at me like I was insain and im like 'yeah im just going 2 go now' and walked a away right into a locker XD
looked at me,looked not stood
Luckily most of my friends are writers, once were writers, or like reading. Like my brother doesn't bother asking, since he doesn't read. But he's patient and listens (most of the time) to my explanation.
But for acquaintances and extended family...Yes. Just YES!
this is sooo relateable. I wish I actually had a book lover to talk to about bookd.
"Unless you're genuinely interested, do not ask me what I'm reading!" My Gods. I can SO-O-O relate, dude.
Oh kay yeah after I'm finished with MoA I was planning on reading CoB so I'll be introduced to him. After that Ill complete the HP series and then complete the TMI/TDI series which might take a WHILE.
OMG THIS IS SOOO TRUE JESUS THE ACCURACY IS JUST... GOD
oh my gosh "LOL WHO READS" IS OLIVI'A'S CATCHPHRASE. *shakes head angrily*
Oh gosh. One of my worst nightmares is trying to explain a really amazing book.
