My god, I am just amazed on how good the interviewer he is. He seems to ask great questions and even better follow up questions. Even Dolly was amazed on how good he was. Considering she is 70 and had countless of interviews before, you must feel amazing. You nearly made her cry with the Witney question.
This is the best interview I’ve ever seen of Dolly. And I’ve seen them all! This guy should do a special with her. She didn’t use humor once to divert the conversation. She went deep in her answers! She was real and honest and vulnerable. Shad, whoever you are, you nailed this big time!!! Even Dolly herself congratulated you!! That’s huge!!! Thank you SO much for this! It’s a masterclass on journalism. And Dolly delivered a masterclass on life!!

Great interview. He allows Mrs. Parton to fully respond. Based upon his INTELLIGENT questions, he has done his research BEFORE the interview. Mrs. Parton is legendary and is an humble superstar.
I agree. He would ask questions and then let her finish with her answer. I've seen many interviews where the interviewer would ask her a question, but then interrupt her before she completed the question. He was really good and I really enjoyed this.
I would have to agree with y'all! You can just see it in his eyes because there sparkling and he never stopped smiling, which is the 1 piece of being a great interviewer because it makes the person feel calm and easy to tell you everything, going back to what y'all said about him NOT disrupting her or being "Bigger" but being on a perfect level with her which again is another reason why shes the calmest I've seen her
I always saw her as honest and natural, that’s what makes her so lovable but I do agree that he is a great interviewer, so respectful and giving her his full attention compared to others who just wants to run through the questions.

I'm from Tennessee and I think I've seen every interview Dolly has done from the 80's and up. This is by far the BEST interview I have ever seen. He did an awesome job! I hate when interviewers talk over them or interrupt and ask another question to move on. I thought Bobby Bones had the best interview with her but this was even better.
