I saw Stephen live in Sacramento and he was an extremely high tenor. I’ve never heard a voice so incredible, he was like an angel. I was so stunned by him... it was absolutely effortless.
Just saw Stephen in Dayton, OH tonight. He kiiilled it! Such an emotional and flawless performance. And you’re right, Jessica, it seemed effortless!!

Andrew literally was a teenager, 17 when he first appeared in the lead role on Broadway. He had just won the Jimmy Award for best high school musical star.

Every time I hear this song sang by any guy who is cast as Evan, I can’t unhear the harmonies and it feels so empty without the harmonies
This is the second or third vocal coach I’ve seen react to this video and this is the exact reaction I was looking for. I was totally blown away by the blend and control of all of them and expected more people to talk about that specifically. Also the comment about the placement of sams voice is spot on and I became obsessed with him after watching this lolol

This is my absolute favorite version of a Dear Evan Hansen song. It is pure perfection to my ears. I saw Stephen Christopher Anthony right before everything shut down. It was my second viewing of DEH and he was amazing. I really hope he returns as Evan so I can see him again.

Saw DEH twice this month in Tampa and in Fort Myers, both with Stephen. Two music degrees here so I feel like I know a little bit :) Stephen is truly amazing, both vocally and as an actor. Fortunate to have been in the front row in Tampa and his visible emotion and full immersion into Evan had many in tears at the Straz. He truly is on another plane of existence with this role. Great reaction video!

I saw Stephen Christopher Anthony play Evan on 24th April and he was fantastic. I cried and cried he is a true, true talent
First of all, this blend of voices..... it defines exquisite.
Second, we saw Stephen in March of 2022 in Schenectady and I missed entire show because I was crying from start to finish. He was absolutely incredible. "Favotires" shouldn't be a thing because every actor gives 110% and puts their own stamp on Evan, but geez louise I can not explain how out of this world Stephen was!! How you could not instantly fall in love with his portrayal is beyond me. The clarrrrrity and heart that comes through in his tone......ugh!! Yes!! All of the yesses!!!
I had the pleasure of seeing Robert Marks play the title role in Tommy at the Stratford Festival back in 2013! He's currently playing Mary Sunshine in their production of Chicago XD

Second, and I know that these guys are amazing. They played Evan, they are always going to be very, very talented and amazing. But, Stephen Christopher Anthony is just from another planet! He is, for me, the technical best to have played Evan ever, and I've seen six different. None has reached his peakes yet....

If you’re not familiar with them, they are an 11 member acapella group. Their sound is more choral, but what amazes me is their blend and harmonies ❤️ (headphones recommended for the full experience)
They do a lot of different kinds of covers, From Disney to movies and even a few jazz style songs

It’s like you’ve never heard it before, but then it builds and resolves exactly like you were hoping and THANK YOU.

Andrew was 16 or 17 when he was cast as Evan, and I think this was not long after that, so he'll have still been in high school at this point.
Danielle, I love your channel! Great reactions and analysis. You should listen to bass singer Geoff Castellucci from VoicePlay, he has a crazy range. He can go from bass to tenor in one song. He does a great cover of John Denver's "Take me home, Country roads"

Immortal Song 2 by Chen and Baekhyun of EXO is an amazing performance I think you would enjoy. The vocals of this group are fantastic in general.# subscription team.

I wonder how old is the 4th Evan from the Toronto cast? Great voice but man he looks much older that the first two and #3 looks like a college guy. The first 2 look like high school kids especially #2. No. 4 looks like he can be Corny Collins in Hairspray.
I know.. I've been trying to look up his age but to no results... SCA (Evan # 3), according to the fandom wiki, is 30 w/c is a surprise to me... Meanwhile, Sam (Evan # 1) is 23 and Andrew (Evan #2) is 19.
@@dlmbs Andrew (Evan #2) was 16 when he was cast on Broadway. I read that Robert Markus (Evan #4) was 30 when he was cast, and he was almost NOT even auditioned because of 1) his age and 2) his "traditional handsomeness" LOLOL

This is my first reaction of yours I have come across, and I sadly have to say that I am SO disappointed in your reaction. I usually really enjoy watching vocal teachers and coaches comment on performances I like since I look forward to getting new perspectives, but not this time. I get that you're wanting to stop to comment on what they're doing vocally, but compared to other reactors doing the same thing, you stop far too much and at terrible times, making following the progress of the performance a challenge by making it too fragmented. Also, (and again I get where you're coming from but...) the "Steven"/"Stefan" thing was SUPER distracting and annoying. I will probably get flamed by your fans, but c'est la vie.
