- The biggest difference in terms of playing a campaign in the Old World Mod vs Immortal Empires, and it makes for quite a change.

it seems so much better having the map spaced out a bit more
While I agree, I think there needs to be changes to the stalk stance. I really think it should come with a movement penalty as the counter to it is encamp which does not always work and costs half the movement.
One thing I appreciate is the different starting position for Wulfrik the Wanderer, since in IE, he has a really shitty position where he is surrounded by a lot of LL that are not necessarily friendly. So even when you consolidate Norsca, you either get dragged into war after another in Chaos Wastes or be forced to go Kislev etc. It feels like the actual Wandering you will do is only after turn 50 - 60 which sucks. When playing Wulfrik, I just want to go around, raiding, sacking and taking ports, rather than being bogged down in Norsca fighting other Norscans or Warriors of Chaos....
giving wulfrik an option for hoard mechanic might make sense
My fear right now, Is that it feels really empty and flat. I dont know if the AI makes enough armies to keep it entertaining, and not just be a walking simulator.
To be fair, I think it kind of feels a bit empty as they have made it in mind of other modders adding factions to it, like all the OVN ones I know are going to be
What happens in my game, is that there is *always* something to do. Game doesn't relent. And, because every power has at least some territory, everyone recruits armies, too. Skaven are pretty much immortal, though. Finding all their settlements and taking them out is a *pain in the ass*, worse than Warhammer 2.
Tbh the assumption is that you're going to be using mods that add more factions to the game
What about using the mod to disable the extra upkeep percentage?
Wouldn't you get the same impact if you just reduced the base movement points for all factions in the game for Immortal Empires?
Yeah but I bet every one would cry about it.
@@via_negativa6183 There is a mod that does exactly that. -50% Campaign Army Movement, add to it SFO + expanded IE and you will get almost the same experience in terms of expanding and protecting your territories. But the best thing about this mod is additional variety to gameplay. Empire campaign is more interesting on this map because of the size and sheer ability to choose what way you want to expand. Same goes for other factions. Some have different positions, other more alternatives for their expansions. Like for example Thorgrim now can choose which way he wants to move after securing his first province. Do you move east and then south to secure those mountains an help out our Belegar pal. Or you move west and secure new mountain lake and all the mountain chains that run across south-west and west bordering Empire, Bretonnia and Wood Elves.
Less movement means less maneuvring, it would feel a lot more grindy
Pretty much but this is more aesthetically pleasing 😂 But overall it'd just be the same thing but more complaints
This may be a real naive question but if it isn't possible to space out settlements in immortal empires, couldn't they just have reduced campaign movement range to achieve the exact same thing?

Try Orion his campaign escalates even faster than immortal empires
Also, there are random settlements that function similar to magical forests
Does this mod support multiplayer campaign?
yep!
Part of the problem is IE was designed to be minor settlement battles, which are much harder to win with no casualties. When CA gave in to whining and changed it, it sped up progress significantly. Most looting races can't send in a hero squad that can heal to take all 5 capture points. Or can't win from range with no losses like Cathay or High/Wood Elves.
It's not that CA gave in to whining. It's that CA's planning is shit, as can be seen by the failure of Hyenas. They never asked themselves if they should have tried to reinvent the wheel, while having an entire warehouse filled with different designs. They only asked if they could. And when it came out square, they tried to deflect the blame to us.
How much will this hurt skarbrand? That his progress will be slowed
less bpt bad for his stats
You take very long time to get straight to the point
In general, what you said is bullshit. If you are a legendary very hard player, nothing will change in the way you play. I conquered the old world 7 times with different factions and played a few short openings. and each time I rushed + 1 armies from start and by turn 20 have 4 stack and conquered several settlements without worrying about anything. and the fact that the cities are further from each other only makes it more annoying to run after an AI that can run away into your territory and you can't catch it because it uses marching. Of course, I would like to point out that I benefit from selling settlements to AI exploit.
Dont use obviously bad exploits. I recently stopped actively selling settlements to AI. I may sell/give away settlement to my long standing ally when i do not plan holding it at all. But i generally will not give away or sell a settlement to cheese my way out of the coming war or to get easy confederation.
@@Altmer353 Infinity money is bad exploid. Selling settlement just to get it back instant after war is lore acurate kappa.
@@czareknowak5805 nothing about this is lore accurate for most of the factions. No Dawi will buy their own holds from skaven, same goes for any other order faction. Stop somehow justifying cheese. You either own it and admit you cant handle higher difficulties without mechanic abuse. And let me say, nothing wrong with that, just stop talking how game becomes boring and easy with tactics like that.
Alternative is to put reasonable limits on what you can do with diplomacy. No selling your settlements to other races, giving away to your potential friends or allies i consider reasonable. Selling between same race? I would say depends on the lord you are playing and diplomatic status. But Sure. Mb even sometimes between skavens and greenskins for the lulz of it, completely in character. Try to roleplay your lord and faction so to speak.
@@Altmer353 POV: be one of the best tww ranked player, have all achigment, beat this stupid game mutliple time on max diviculty and even moded to make it harder, Some random dude who know shit about war strategy tell you that your play style is wrong cuz its wrong. Fell Good shit. Blame the game not the player.
@@czareknowak5805touch grass nerd , no one’s heard of you or cares about you
What is up with your saturation? Your reds and greens are off the charts.
This mod is going to be awesome.
I constantly understand "bell".
You fight a settlement bell. The you fight a land bell.
And sometimes you lose a bell.
still think raiding is dumb in warhammer, why would i raid (in a wealth province) for like 800 gold when my upkeep of my army is at least 2.5k.
these minor thing makes it obvious CA doesn't think things through
