I took a little detour to ride it a few summers ago. Went in totally blind and was blown away. Having no close friends who are enthusiasts, I felt like I discovered a hidden treasure but with no idea of who to tell about it. So now I just make little UA-cam comments like this hoping to spread the word😂
Hagrids is my biggest winner. I’m not a family coaster guy, I want faster and taller 99% of the time but Hagrids really won me over. So much fun. Also Fury 325 for the first time, a great ride
I am new to being a coaster enthusiast and I used to think that roller coasters were just scary machines that let you get over your fear of being in high places until I road hagrids and I had a night ride on it, and it made me a coaster enthusiast, and it was this year during the summer and hagrids is probably my number one or twisted cyclone, but I love Hagrids very much, and I will always give it credit for making me a coaster enthusiast
You got some good picks and I agree with a lot! I haven't ridden Iron Menace yet, I haven't been to Dorney since 2021, but im coming to Dorney in 2025.
Out of 63 new credits, I had some losers & winners as well. Starting with the losers, which still weren't bad, just should've been better: 1. Roar-O-Saurus: good airtime, but quite rough & uncomfortable. 2. Good Gravy: Nice theming, but very boring, feels like you're not moving. 3. Beast mountain coaster at Killington: $35, and a very complicated online-only booking procedure. But the ride was good. 4. Phoenix Rising: Good layout & presentation, but it would've been so much better if it wasn't rough. Winners: 1. Tornado at Stricker's Grove: That ejector death drop mid-ride! Such a great park too! 2. Excalibur at Funtown Splashtown USA: I didn't think it would be my favorite woodie in the Northeast. 3. Silver Comet at Niagara: Excellent CCI that I have never heard talked about. 4. Bobcat at Great Escape: Gravity Group's new track has this riding so smooth. 5. Tiger Terror at Safari Land: Junior coasters shouldn't be this awesome. 6. Yankee Cannonball: I expected a nothing ride, but it delivered decent airtime. 7. Penguin Trek: A little rough, but a decent layout & great theming.
What’s with all the new B&M’s being rough? Pipeline, Penguin Trek, Pheonix Rising, Iron Menace - B&M used to be renowned for their smoothness but they seem to be doing something wrong lately.
95 new credits this year (many new parks and many I haven't been to in 15 -20 years). These are the ones that stood out for me: Winners: Sandy's Bucking Bronco, Fahrenheit, Stormrunner, Funtown's Excalibur, Yankee Cannonball, SFGE Comet, Wooden Warrior, and Monster. Losers: Luna's Thunderbolt, Skyrush, SFNE Thunderbolt, Steamin' Demon, Pegasus, and Cyclops.
My new-for-2024 winners and losers: Winners: Pipeline: the Surf Coaster - from what people said about it, I was expecting it to be just an ok ride... it ended up being my second favorite at SWO, great airtime while standing up! Bat at CW - I've ridden multiple boomerangs in different parts of the world, and this one is the best I've been to, it's even better than the one at Fantasilandia with the new Vekoma trains Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind - I wasn't expecting Disney's best coaster. This + I ran = elite duo Olympia Looping - rode it Jan.1 in London, and saw some reviews complaining about the restraints taking away from the ride... Wow the reviews were wrong. That's an intense and good coaster, it entered my top 25 overall Losers: Vogel Rok - I'd say my whole Efteling visit was lost because only Max&Moritz, Python and this was open, but I'll highlight this. Everyone says that Vogel Rok is a great indoor coaster, but imo it was just ok, nothing special... Vurang at Hopi Hari is a better indoor coaster, for example, and no one talks about it Time Warp - Yeah, I was expecting this to be bad... it was worse than what I thought it would be, my #1 worst coaster Mighty Canadian Minebuster - Since it was an out-and-back, I was expecting this to have airtime and fun during those hills... yeah that was horrible
Another great video ! I’ll be honest, I kinda had a thought that you would put “Conneaut Lake Park Blue Streak” as a winner because the owner burned it down and that historical earthquake of a coaster will never re open again 😂
@@AirtimeThrills I guess that’s true… at least for its history it was fun lol. Truly wish the owner could’ve tried to bring it back to KW potential so people would have actually came back lol. Then again, not sure if they’d be able to compete if he didn’t turn it into a trailer park (yeah… ;-;) with Kennywood - my home park - Hershey park, and knoebels in PA too lol
Great video! What you said about wild mouse at Beech Bend sounds very similar to Tidal Twist at the Columbus Ohio zoo that ive ridden before. I thought it was a fun coaster. I think Sea Dragon at the Columbus Ohio zoo is fun too. I really enjoyed watching this!
Snowbird should probably just remove the mountain coaster and use the station space for a new chair on the lower Peruvian side. There isn't enough gentle land there for a good mountain coaster, and the skiers would lose it if they took any of the good tree skiing away.
I only got one new credit this year. It was Darkcoaster at BGW. It pleasantly surprised me. While it could use more theming, those launches are intense and you go through the course more than once. It was really good for a family coaster. 😄 I've only ever ridden 2 dives, but I loved both. Part of me wonders what I would think of this one. Guess I'll have to try to make it to that park at some point.
These coasters look fun! I haven't ridden any of them, but I'll provide my winners & losers list: I visited 4 parks: HP, CP, HW, and KK, riding all of their open coasters (only missed TT2) Winners: 10. Fahrenheit - People don't talk about this one much. I looked at the layout, and that it was built by Intamin, so I thought it could be good, but I was still skeptical. I ended up ranking it as my #3 in the park. Good force, good speed, great airtime, great whip. Not crazy about the restraints but they could be worse. Every time I got off I wanted to ride again. (30/163) 9. Iron Dragon - I heard that this ride was slow and boring compared to Bat, but I ended up liking it almost as much. Despite being sandwiched between the midway and TT2, it still manages to have a nice plot of land over water. Compared to Bat, it wasn't nearly as fast, but I noticed the swinging a lot more. The first part was relaxing, and the second part really picks up. That twisted drop swings you around, then you hit that double swooping helix over the water, which is somewhat intense. I still prefer Bat, but it was closer than I thought. (93/163) 8. Great Bear - I went in expecting this to be my least favorite invert, no question. After riding it, though, I think it stands up to the others. Despite having a weird drop and only 4 inversions, it is intense and smooth the whole way through, and has a great setting in the Hollow. I did rank it as my lowest B&M invert (until I rode...well, you'll see), but it was really close. I seriously considered ranking it above Alpengeist and Batman. (43/163) 7. Kentucky Flyer - I heard these Gravity Group family woodies were good, but I thought they'd just be a modern version of the Woodstock Express clones. Oh was I wrong. I got flo-jector on almost every hill of this little ride! When I enjoyed it more than the kids around me, you know it's an enthusiast ride. I was surprised that the smallest and "worst" GG coaster was so good. That makes me look forward to riding the other ones! (83/163) 6. Wild Mouse (HP) - I went up to Wild Mouse ready to get one ride and leave. The mice that don't spin, especially the small park ones, are just okay rides. But this one was running at top speed! First, they were doing a moving station--I didn't know Wild Mice could do that! Then, the lift hill was very fast (I guess the highest setting) and it didn't slow down at the top. Already it felt like we'd fall out on every turn, but then the trims barely hit, so we went flying down the drops, and I even got airtime on the hill! I came back to ride it again later just because it was good--not as good as a spinning mouse, but much better than the other standard ones. (112/163) 5. GateKeeper - After riding Wild Eagle, I expected this one to be better, but not by much. After all, everyone raves about Thunderbird instead. But I really enjoyed GateKeeper. The wingover drop is one of my favorite drops/inversions ever, then the following Immelmann is quite intense. Then, provided I wasn't stapled, the airtime hill actually gave airtime! The rest of the inversions were fun--not intense, but fun. It was cool to go upside down at a slower pace than normal and actually see the ground twist under you. The keyholes were really cool too. Only complaint (other than the given rattle) was the ending is pretty stupid, but hey, more ride time! (35/163) 4. Candymonium - "You can never go wrong with a B&M Hyper." This is high because it delivered as a Hyper in all respects, not that it exceeded my expectations that much. Well, it kind of did. I heard it was one of the weaker hypers, and after being disappointed by Apollo's Chariot, Candymonium delivered. The 5-second airtime hill was the best part, but the speed hill and twisted hill were also great. The first helix was intense enough to not feel pointless, and the second one was scenic. Great hyper, could ride all day. Difference here was that I actually enjoyed the back almost as much as the front, which is unusual for me on these rides! (12/163) 3. Steel Vengeance - While I ranked this as my new #1 (original, I know), it didn't exceed my expectations. In fact, I thought it was disappointing at first. Then I realized after riding a few more times what makes Steel Vengeance so good. It's not the pacing, the seamless transitions, the innovation, or the variety of elements. It's the sheer length and tons of airtime hills. Once I got into it, there was no escape (except maybe to Maverick). While rides like WCR and AFO were better paced, more refined experiences, it's hard to beat the most airtime on any coaster + the longest RMC! (1/163) 2. Maverick - I knew Maverick would be good, but I was still blown away by it. The first part was admittedly less insane than I thought it'd be, but still fun, and it was just a warmup for the 2nd half. The launch had me holding on every time. It became my favorite launch of all time--even better than Storm Runner! The Stengel dive were nuts too, as were the turns leading to them. If you've never done a front row ride at night, you're missing out. The launch tunnel is dark and you can't see the turn coming up. You fly from start to finish. It's hard to not want to ride again right after getting off, even with SteVe right there! (6/163) 1. Wildcat's Revenge - Wow, what a masterpiece of a layout! I expected WCR to maybe be better than Twisted Timbers, but it blew it out of the water. Even in the morning, this thing hauls. Talk about a complete layout--this ride has it all! I'm also surprised to say that the first drop was probably the worst part of the ride. Not that it's bad, but the rest of the ride is so good, you forget there was a drop. The overbanks, wave turn, airtime hills, stall, and barrel rolls were all awesome. It reminded me of AFO--a well-paced powerhouse with excellent elements from start to finish. If you like these better than SteVe, I don't blame you one bit. (5/163) My list is too long for my losers lol, see reply below
Losers: 10. Lightning Run - Great ride! Only problem was the restraints staple you--even when on the LIFT HILL so you lose what would be much better airtime. Still great, but fix this problem! I've never heard anyone complain about this. (Also, what's with the restraints? Why are they RMC lap bars?) (37/163) 9. Voyage - Even greater ride! It's actually my favorite wooden coaster, beating Beast and Mystic Timbers, which is hard to do. Still, enthusiasts seem to rank this in their top 10 (out of a lot more credits), and I don't see that. Maybe it was the random rough patches or jolts of laterals I wasn't expecting, idk. Still, it was awesome, which is why it's low on my losers. (19/163) 8. Howler - I rode Whistle Punk Chaser and Cocoa Cruiser before this one, and they were decent kiddie coasters. This is the same model, but it shook me around a lot. I like kids coaster jankiness, but this one was too much to be fun. The kids definitely liked this one better... (158/163) 7. Trailblazer - I like these Arrow mine trains for being terrain coasters that are relaxing, a bit janky, and long-- oh wait, this one's short. I did enjoy the ending helix where it picks up speed, but that's like half the ride. I heard somewhere that this was one of the best mine trains, but I left ranking it as my worst. (130/163) 6. Valravn - I expected Valravn to be better than Griffon and ShieKra, seeing the extra inversion(s) and airtime hill, but I ended up not liking it as much. The drop was awesome, and the inversions were good, especially the barrel roll, but the airtime hill had no airtime, and the vest restraints took away from the drops some. It didn't help that I kept having to ride on the very edge where it rattles the whole way through, plus I didn't get the front or back, only the middle every time! Still a fun ride, but I don't think it's the best dive coaster. (57/163) 5. Laff Track - I went in expecting a fun spinning coaster. I left thinking it was fun. Yeah...this thing did not spin. Going forwards, backwards, and sideways was fun, but I wanted something crazier. Maybe if the weight was offset we would spin, but I didn't ride it again because the line was so long. (102/163) 4. SkyRush - Here we go, Chris! I was looking forward to what looked like a smaller I305 (one of my all time favorites). After they replaced the restrains, I thought for sure nothing could be wrong with it! But, uh...whoops. First, it has the worst rattle of any steel coaster I've ridden, and that includes Kumba! I came off with a headache every time. Second, the new restraints are...better? They don't hurt like I assume the old ones did, but they still staple you hard, voiding you of any airtime. Finally, the ride is short, which is fine, but it ends with what is basically an RCT autocomplete. Why not another hill or something? Now don't get me wrong, this ride is intense and has crazy "airtime" that was still fun. In the back, the Stengel dive is great, and the first drop might be my favorite ever. But...yeah, for a coaster that so many seem to love, it's not as great as I thought it'd be. Worse, the front is noticeably worse than the back. Usually, I think the front is just as good, if not better. But not only was the front still as rough as ever, the first drop and Stengel dive are basically pointless. So yeah, back row all the way. (38/163) 3. Rougarou - I wasn't expecting much from this somewhat hated coaster, especially after being disappointed by the supposedly good Dominator. But I wasn't prepared for why Rougarou sucks. I expected a strong rattle and nothing else. I got a moderate rattle and...ear smashing. Yeah, that's a new one for me. The drop was good, and the loop was decent, but the rest was blah. The second part just meanders around before going into those uncomfortable corkscrews. I had no desire to reride this, but someday, I'll have to try the front and see if it's any better. (123/163) 2. Comet - Sooo... I heard good things about this PTC. After riding others like Racer and Cannon Ball and being impressed, I was hoping this might be the best one. Apparently, Comet is smooth and has good airtime. But I experienced...neither of those? It was rough...not unbearably so, no jackhammering like Scream Machine, but it had a bunch of unpleasant jolts. Despite being a long ride full of hills, I got airtime on maybe 2. And I use the word "airtime" when it barely qualified as such. sooperdooperLooper almost had better airtime than this... And I'm light, skinny, and I held the lap bar up the whole time! I rode it twice and was not impressed... I don't know what people are talking about lol (129/163) 1. Raptor - Here we go, time to trigger people. I was excited for Raptor. I love inverts, and Batman at SFOG is crazy intense and I enjoy it a lot. So a bigger Batman that every enthusiast loves? Prime top invert material, right? Well...first of all, it wasn't nearly as intense or fast-paced as I thought. Sure, it had good moments, especially the final helix, but the pacing slows down a lot at the midcourse where you're just waiting for something to happen. And then the headbanging. Yes, really. It's not bad, but it happens on the cobra roll and corkscrews occasionally. While it's not that bad, having to worry about your head on one of these means you can't enjoy the ride for what it is as much. The random jolts reminded me of a hang-n-bang. Then the inversions... The loop was good, and the zero-g roll was the best part, but the cobra roll...eh... I rode Raptor a few times on different days hoping to like it better, but I really didn't. It's by far my least favorite B&M invert and only my #9 in the park. It's not a bad ride (obviously a lot of people love it), but wow I was not expecting to like rides like Gemini and Wild Mouse more! (88/163)
I was definitely hoping that the refurb of Mind Eraser would do it some justice, but as we sat on the brake run (it was having issues all day on its reopening) I said that I had one regret. That said, my winner was easily the retracked Grizzly. I would marathon that thing if I could. It holds up well with the other top 3 (soon to be top 4) of KD.
Skywinder: actually I bumped my head on the backrest on Riddlers but didn't do that here. But bumped my ass the whole time. I think maybe they got new trains because they don't have any. Iron Menace yeah hated my first ride but went back and got center, really liked it. Spinning: why does everyone want more?
My #1 winner this year would be Thunderhead. I really didn’t expect much before I rode it. But it was so good. It had great airtime and was smooth and was just a huge surprise for me
Dorney has a plan for two more coasters in the next 10 years. A multi launch and a family coaster. I assume one will open on the 10th year for their 150 anniversary. Though Iron Menace is rough it brought park attendance up 25% so it showed them investing in Dorney will pay off.
I love intensity so it made me so happy that i305 was everything i hoped for and more. Other than that, Mystic timbers, zokkon, the ultra twister at rusutsu, Fury, wildcats revenge etc all blew me away. Biggest losers were Hurler and a togo wild mouse 💀 Edit: eejanaika too but i had been on that before, still my #1
Rode 56 new coasters this year: Winners: Reptilian I305 Twister Timbers Hagrids Wonderwoman at Fiesta Texas Non-coaster Bonus: Pirates Plunge Log Flume at Galveston's Pleasure Pier is one of the most ridiculous and unassuming rides I have ever been on & I came to that conclusion only after the first first drop. Losers: New Texas Giant (Rode in back. Felt some airtime & nothing else.) Pandemonium at Fiesta Texas (Got a nothing ride on it. One at SFOT was better) Diabolical Cliffhanger (Mainly because of discovering that new B&Ms have comfort collars) Non-coaster Bonus: Pandemonium at Six Flags Over Georgia. Had a lady vomit on me mid-ride.
This year was definitely a break year for me after 2021-2023. The only new park I went to is Dorney. Winners: Talon, Steel Force, Possessed, Thunderhawk Losers: Iron Meance, Hydra
1. Professor Screamore's Sidewinder. Well it's the old "lipstick on a pig" trope in play. Makes sense they repainted it Washington Commanders colors (burgundy & gold) 2. Iron Menace .... never thought a new B&M would be bumpy. Bad batch of steel?
New coaster creds: 1. Excalibur, Funtown Splashtown. And it was great! Big win. I had way more new dark ride creds, all awesome, but this isn't Dark Ride Thrills. If I had ridden Raging Spirits at Tokyo DisneySea (going by reputation) it might have been a loser, but I rode more dark rides instead. The Wild Mouse at Funtown didn't look very impressive, but I didn't go on it because there was a sign saying "no single riders"--I've since learned that this sign is a lie intended to dissuade solo children, but I didn't know.
The biggest winner for me this year was Great American Scream Machine at SFOG. The coaster went from one of the worst coasters in America to one of my favorite woodies. I have ridden it dozens of times over the years (1 and done) and it is a completely different ride now. It is smoother, faster and has a ton of airtime. We were marathoning it at night this year. They fixed it all and it is glorious to ride.
I had the same exact experience when I rode Flying Turns for the first time. As a local to Knoebel’s, the coaster is a maintenance nightmare. It’s closed on very busy days and growing up I never saw it in operation when I went. Fast forward a couple years, I finally got to ride it and had the same thoughts “it’s just an old coaster I just want to ride it for the credit” little did I know I would have the most fun of the day on that ride
I don't know parks would keep working with B&M if the shakiness keeps going. They're definitely reliable, but their new coasters are shaking from what I've heard.
I think i only got 3 new credits this year. Apocalypse and west coast racers at summit and mummy at Universal hollywood. West coast racers might be my favorite of those 3.
You’re spot on with Dreamworlds spinning car on Steel Tiapan. It is one of the single best coaster experiences you can have anywhere in the world. It alone is worth the trip to Oz! 😊
Oh my God the Six Flags America SLC. Was my 100th credit back when it was Mind Eraser, and I genuinely loved it after the update, because it tracks so horribly I spend the entire course laughing my ass off. It's just so funny that the park spent all this money on the retheme and the ride is still an absolute dumpster fire.
I was fortunate enough to get 2 rides on Top Thrill 2. I'd say it definitely was a winner. A very awesome improvement over it's predecessor. Worst new credit, hands down, Flight Deck at Canada's Wonderland. Slcs are bad, but this one was extra bad. It was running super fast on a hot as hell late July day, and I felt like my head was getting torn off at the neck. My new worst coaster I've ridden winner there.
I became a coaster enthusiast last year and rode a bunch of new credits this year. Prior to this year I had only gone to Cedar Point, Kings Island, Hersheypark, Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Dorney Park, and Michigan’s Adventure minus Universal Orlando back in ‘04 and ‘07 when I was a kid. My winners: HM. Exterminator- Kennywood #30. Sky Rocket- Kennywood #29. Flying Turns- Knoebels #28. Sierra Sidewinder- Knott’s Berry Farm #27. Batman Clones- Six Flags Parks #26. Big Bear Mountain- Dollywood #25. Viper- Six Flags Magic Mountain #24. Loch Ness Monster- Busch Gardens Williamsburg #23. Tennessee Tornado- Dollywood #22. West Coast Racers- Six Flags Magic Mountain #21. Medusa- Six Flags Great Adventure #20. Griffon- Busch Gardens Williamsburg #19. Full Throttle- Six Flags Magic Mountain #18. Cornball Express- Indiana Beach #17. Verbolten- Busch Gardens Williamsburg #16. Alpengeist- Busch Gardens Williamsburg #15. Thunderhead- Dollywood #14. Nitro- Six Flags Great Adventure #13. Raven- Holiday World #12. Phoenix- Knoebels #11. Kingda Ka- defunct (long live the King) #10. Xcelerator- Knott’s Berry Farm (so blessed to have ridden it) #9. Legend- Holiday World #8. Wildcat’s Revenge- Hersheypark #7. Phantom’s Revenge- Kennywood #6. Skyrush (new restraints)- Hersheypark #5. Pantheon- Busch Gardens Williamsburg #4. Ghostrider- Knott’s Berry Farm #3. X2- Six Flags Magic Mountain #2. El Toro- Six Flags Great Adventure #1. Voyage- Holiday World My losers: #15. Blue Streak- Cedar Point #14. Flight of the Hippogriff- Universal Studios Hollywood #13. Racer- Kennywood #12. Impulse- Knoebels #11. Jack Rabbit- Kennywood #10. Pony Express- Knott’s Berry Farm #9. Thunderhawk- Dorney Park #8. Lightning Racer- Hersheypark #7. Steel Hawg- Indiana Beach #6. Mystery Mine- Dollywood #5. Iron Menace- Dorney Park (I 100% agree with you Chris)! #4. Hoosier Hurricane- Indiana Beach #3. Copperhead Strike- Carowinds #2. Apollo’s Chariot- Busch Gardens Williamsburg #1. Jersey Devil Coaster- Six Flags Great Adventure
Took my 3 year old to sesame place over the summer and was blown away by Oscar’s wacky taxi. Sat in the back and was getting tossed out of my seat the entire ride.
The only major looser I can think of is Corkscrew at Cedar Point. Otherwise, I had a lot of winners such as Texas Stingray and Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster at SeaWorld San Antonio, Iron Rattler at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Shivering Timbers at Michigan's Adventure, Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point, Twisted Colossus and Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and Hangtime at Knott's Berry Farm.
My 2024 new credits pretty much consist of return visits to SFOG and Carowinds, plus my first visit to Dollywood. My biggest winner would be Thunderhead. This was my first GCI, so I want quite sure what to expect. I have heard mostly good things, and my favorite coaster is the Gravity Group monstrosity, Voyage. I love wooden coasters, so I knew I would probably like Thunderhead. It blew me away. I know some say it's one of the best GCIs, but it gave me a great first impression. Honorable mention to Woodstock's Express at Carowinds. I had never ridden it before, and I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and fun it was. The airtime is minimal, but it's a neat little ride. My biggest loser was Kid Flash. The track is completely awful. It isn’t rough, but the constant vibration gave me a headache. The light package was already failing after less than one year, and the whole thing may very well be defunct now. Dishonorable mention to Lightning Rod's wave turn. I don't know what it was like before the launch. I rode it with a full train on a hot day, and that element did nothing for me. The rest of the coaster was awesome, though.
I honestly didn't think Menace was that bad. In fact, it went right to number 2 in my rankings(this was after I went to Carowinds, and before I went to Canada’s Wonderland)
Got to experience my first launch coaster this year and I loved it! Bring from the pnw there aren’t many coasters to ride without traveling really far so when my family and I went to Disneyland in the summer I was excited to get on Incredicoaster and the other classics like space mountain. Hopefully next time I’m in California I’ll be able to do a big coaster trip to magic mountain, knott’s, etc.
If you ever find yourself in Southern Europe, make sure to hit up Tobotronc at Naturland in the tiny country of Andorra. It's the longest alpine coaster in the world and therefore technically speaking the longest roller coaster in the world.
I've got 5 winners and 2 losers from my new Credits this season Winners: 1. Monster at Adventureland 2. Zambezi Zinger at WoF 3. Primordial at Lagoon 4. Tornado at Adventureland 5. Bombora at Lagoon Losers: 1. Defiance at Glenwood Caverns 2. Wicked at Lagoon
I’m broke af so don’t get the chance to go to a lot of parks other than my home park of Busch Gardens Williamsburg (even Kings Dominion is a hike for me), but this year I got to go to Carowinds because one of my closest friends lives in Charlotte and went with me. Fury 325 is elite. Everyone was correct about it!
I know the feel about not having the funds to get to a lot of parks as well. KD and BGW are my home parks as well, and BGW is the hike for me. I went to Carowinds last year and, of course Fury was down due to a cracked track. However, my son and I went to Hersheypark, and it was one hell of a park.
My winners are, Motocoaster darien lake Nitro Kingda ka Superman ride of steel six flags America Bobcat Batwing Top thrill 2 Wildcats revenge Losers Skyrush El toro Ride of steel Darien lake Raging bull
Just went to Nickelodeon for the first time too, was able to rope drop Shredder with my brother and they let us sit 2 on one side with the other side empty. Was an INCREDIBLE ride! This is probably my highest rated spinner as a result.
Flying Turns my beloved It's weird to say that I got more new credits than you this year, but you have to go way out of your way for new credits, but I barely have 150
I got 129 new credits this year Coasters that exceed my expectations: Zadra (energylandia) - now my number 1 RMC Voltron (Europa Park) Leviathan (Canada’s Wonderland) Studio Tour (movie park Germany) Tantrum (six flags Darien lake) Van Helsing’s Factory (movie park Germany) Behemoth (Canada’s wonderland) Hydrus (casino pier) Predator ( six flags Darien lake) Oscar’s wacky taxi Wilde beast (Canada’s wonderland) Vortex (Canada’s wonderland) Wild wave (play lands castaway cove) Revolution (Bobbejaanland) Frank n coaster (house of Frankenstein) Big Dipper (Camden park) 12 that were worst Fury (Bobbejaaland) Star Trek (movie park Germany) Great nor Easter Maximus Der flug does watchers (Legoland Germany ) Iron menace (Dorney park) All American triple loop Phoenix rising Penguin trek Cobra (Walibi Belgium ) - tracks so poorly Professor screamore’s skywinder Devil’s loop (legendia) Typhoon (bobbejaaland)
@ It wasnt bad at all but I would put it below every single B&M invert I’ve rode. Solid ride but was expecting it to be a mid tier B&M invert going into it.
My #1 winner and loser come from the same park, Kentucky Kingdom My winner is Lightning run, I came in not expecting it to be elite, but it's ahead of rides like mako, diamondback, Orion, and outlaw run and is my #8 coaster. My loser, Storm chaser, that thing was insanely rough for an Ibox and I hated it, it had worse transitions than an arrow mine train and was not fun at all, it's down past rides like matugani, mine blower, and white lightning and out of my top 25 Shout out to outlaw for being my most surprising coaster, no one said a word about this cci woodie but it was insane and better than rides like beast and new Texas Giant. Another coaster (hilariously also in the same park) that was insane was dragon slayer. Me and my friend got 11 full flips and one half flip. It was insane and ahead of rides like freeze and Texas stingray
Big Bear Mountain is a fun coaster and a good step-up multi-launch coaster for kids. How far out of the way would you say Beach Bend is from Kentucky Kingdom? I'm making my first visit to kingdom next year and was curious if it wasn't too far off the beaten path for bend.
My best new coasters this year were hyperia and cosmic rewind. It doesn't seem fair to directly compare them as they are so different but cosmic was just an incredibly emotional immersive storytelling experience and Hyperia has a fantastic layout with some truly amazing elements. I'm tempted to pick slinky dog dash as my worst coaster of the year but I think a lot of that was almost an hour queuing for it. I think as a walk on ride it's a fun family coaster. Instead I'll nominate Tigris, a perfectly fine coaster absolutely ruined by a horrible restraint system.
Dragon at Adventureland in Iowa is mine. The best thing that park did for the public was to remove it. The pre-lift bunny hills it had were like getting into multiple car crashes in a row. Horrible, horrible ride.
Never rode Lrod with the launch got to ride it this year and was super impressed current #1 over coasters like pheonix phantom Skyrush and ofc thunderhead
@ that’s fair. Ghostrider is my home woodie and is in my top 5. I just like x2 twisted collousos, velosicoaster, and iron gwazi more. Ig is my number 1 and x2 at my number 2.
Six Flags America was the only park I went to this year (first time too), and I paired it with a trip to a convention in the area. I really agree with you on Screamore-I had a faux pau and lost my camera to it (but the SD card was safe, just needed to get a flash drive with an SD port of Amazon to retrieve the files), easily biggest loser. Roar is just okay in the front, Wild One is obviously back half/row and I did not get that. Firebird is the best B&M in Maryland, no notes. Superman was fine, but Batwing is best in the park. Ragin Cajun might be too good on a zen/unbalanced ride
@@AirtimeThrills You could probably get a decent video out of "Green vs Green vs Green", but I imagine that would be somewhere down the list. ("Ugh, another one? I'm _feeling_ a bit green.")
i rode skywinder in june, and i didn't hate it, granted it was my first slc, andthe only other one i've ridden is riddler, and i rode it like 2 days after it repoened, so it was still running super slow
is the green lantern el loco the same layout as steel hawg at indiana beach? if so then yes, short but sweet ride. big ups for the ride, big downs to the line
I don't know how much of your audience is from the US, but I would love it of you'd be able to name the metric units besides imperial :) outside of the US hardly anybody uses imperial and it's tough to translate it in my head :p
For me the winners consist of, Superman and wicked cyclone at six flags New England, as well as phantoms revenge and thunderbolt at Kennywood. Losers consist of iron menace, Batman the dark knight, racer at Kennywood, and and doo whopper at Morey’s piers
Spinning mouse coasters can actually be pretty awesome! I’ve found that Galaxy Spin at Fun Spot Kissimmee is actually a ridiculous amount of fun so long as you sit off-balance.
We rode Iron Menace in August and didn’t experience any of the roughness that a few of you coaster gurus have reported. I believe you are really exaggerating this one.
Some good picks here! I also got to try Kentucky Rumbler this past summer and was surprised by how good it was considering nobody ever talks about it.
Seriously nobody does, i had no idea what to expect
I took a little detour to ride it a few summers ago. Went in totally blind and was blown away. Having no close friends who are enthusiasts, I felt like I discovered a hidden treasure but with no idea of who to tell about it. So now I just make little UA-cam comments like this hoping to spread the word😂
13:13: I’m not paying that much for Alpine Coaster 1!
Nickelodeon Universe must be built on some undiscovered major fault line
How so?
Isn't it on an actual fault line? Lol
Or the suckiness of the jets and giants is spilling over
@@AirtimeThrills Aaron Rodgers is screwing over Nickelodeon universe 😢
It is literally built on a swamp.
Sophie's top 20 list coming soon? One of my favorites each year.
Amy is gonna need to rank hers soon!
Yeah we need to record her top 20. Probably will record this weekend
You got some good picks and I agree with a lot! I haven't ridden Iron Menace yet, I haven't been to Dorney since 2021, but im coming to Dorney in 2025.
Out of 63 new credits, I had some losers & winners as well. Starting with the losers, which still weren't bad, just should've been better:
Winners:
Iron Menace's roughness adds to its rickety old steel mill theming. They knew what they were doing.
Its a good story at least
What’s with all the new B&M’s being rough? Pipeline, Penguin Trek, Pheonix Rising, Iron Menace - B&M used to be renowned for their smoothness but they seem to be doing something wrong lately.
Could be trying something new with their trains
Watched this with my toddler and now he wants to “see more lollahcoastahs”
Sounds like amy
That’s how my craze for coasters started lol
95 new credits this year (many new parks and many I haven't been to in 15 -20 years). These are the ones that stood out for me:
Winners: Sandy's Bucking Bronco, Fahrenheit, Stormrunner, Funtown's Excalibur, Yankee Cannonball, SFGE Comet, Wooden Warrior, and Monster.
Losers: Luna's Thunderbolt, Skyrush, SFNE Thunderbolt, Steamin' Demon, Pegasus, and Cyclops.
My new-for-2024 winners and losers:
Winners:
Pipeline: the Surf Coaster - from what people said about it, I was expecting it to be just an ok ride... it ended up being my second favorite at SWO, great airtime while standing up!
Bat at CW - I've ridden multiple boomerangs in different parts of the world, and this one is the best I've been to, it's even better than the one at Fantasilandia with the new Vekoma trains
Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind - I wasn't expecting Disney's best coaster. This + I ran = elite duo
Olympia Looping - rode it Jan.1 in London, and saw some reviews complaining about the restraints taking away from the ride... Wow the reviews were wrong. That's an intense and good coaster, it entered my top 25 overall
Losers:
Vogel Rok - I'd say my whole Efteling visit was lost because only Max&Moritz, Python and this was open, but I'll highlight this. Everyone says that Vogel Rok is a great indoor coaster, but imo it was just ok, nothing special... Vurang at Hopi Hari is a better indoor coaster, for example, and no one talks about it
Time Warp - Yeah, I was expecting this to be bad... it was worse than what I thought it would be, my #1 worst coaster
Mighty Canadian Minebuster - Since it was an out-and-back, I was expecting this to have airtime and fun during those hills... yeah that was horrible
Another great video ! I’ll be honest, I kinda had a thought that you would put “Conneaut Lake Park Blue Streak” as a winner because the owner burned it down and that historical earthquake of a coaster will never re open again 😂
It was a fun quake though
Yeah darkoaster surprised me with the 2 laps
I never really saw what the issues were with Iron Menace. I rode it in October, and it was my favorite of the 3 dives I’ve done so far.
I made it to so many parks this year my #1 changed 3 times
First it was outlaw run, then it was Gwazi, then Arie, and then voyage
I’m currently making a replica of Z-Force from Six Flags Great America
Please dont
These coasters look fun! I haven't ridden any of them, but I'll provide my winners & losers list:
I visited 4 parks: HP, CP, HW, and KK, riding all of their open coasters (only missed TT2)
Winners:
My list is too long for my losers lol, see reply below
Losers:
10. Lightning Run - Great ride! Only problem was the restraints staple you--even when on the LIFT HILL so you lose what would be much better airtime. Still great, but fix this problem! I've never heard anyone complain about this. (Also, what's with the restraints? Why are they RMC lap bars?) (37/163)
8. Howler - I rode Whistle Punk Chaser and Cocoa Cruiser before this one, and they were decent kiddie coasters. This is the same model, but it shook me around a lot. I like kids coaster jankiness, but this one was too much to be fun. The kids definitely liked this one better... (158/163)
2. I don't know what people are talking about lol (129/163)
Ahhh no not Raptor
@AirtimeThrills Sooorry I really wanted to like it more lol. Maybe sometime in the future I'll get better rides
Winners: Shivering Timbers and Wolverine Wildcat
Losers: Thunderhawk and Corkscrew at MiA and every coaster at Dollywood, as I couldn’t ride them.
Biggest losers were Hurler and a togo wild mouse 💀
Edit: eejanaika too but i had been on that before, still my #1
So ready for the ATT end of year top 100!!!
Rode 56 new coasters this year:
Winners:
Reptilian
I305
Twister Timbers
Hagrids
Wonderwoman at Fiesta Texas
Non-coaster Bonus: Pirates Plunge Log Flume at Galveston's Pleasure Pier is one of the most ridiculous and unassuming rides I have ever been on & I came to that conclusion only after the first first drop.
Losers:
New Texas Giant (Rode in back. Felt some airtime & nothing else.)
Pandemonium at Fiesta Texas (Got a nothing ride on it. One at SFOT was better)
Diabolical Cliffhanger (Mainly because of discovering that new B&Ms have comfort collars)
Non-coaster Bonus: Pandemonium at Six Flags Over Georgia. Had a lady vomit on me mid-ride.
This year was definitely a break year for me after 2021-2023. The only new park I went to is Dorney.
Winners: Talon, Steel Force, Possessed, Thunderhawk
Losers: Iron Meance, Hydra
I hope Orlando takes note of some EU and AUS coasters. would be nice to get something other than more intamin launch coasters lol
Your videos helped me on my school project
Glad I could help
I think Iron Menace was my biggest loser of the year too-that jolt at the end!
1. Professor Screamore's Sidewinder. Well it's the old "lipstick on a pig" trope in play. Makes sense they repainted it Washington Commanders colors (burgundy & gold)
2. Iron Menace .... never thought a new B&M would be bumpy. Bad batch of steel?
My biggest winner and loser were both Top Thrill 2. Winner because I got to ride it and holy cow it was great, loser because of the rest of the year.
Rare ride credit of 24
New coaster creds: 1.
Good to hear Excalibur is a good CCI. I havent heard too much about it
Are you ranking Steel Taipan off your normal rides or spinning car rides (for just general ranking)?
Normal rides
Isn't Leviathan made by Martin & Vleminckx? Or is that part of Gravity Group?
They usually work in tandem
You rode more new coasters this year than my entire credit count lmao.
Thats why it was a big winner for me last year
@@AirtimeThrills Oh, I must have missed that one. I think last year was one of the only years I didn't get a SF pass.
Yeah lets see how rapterra and rakshasa fare
I think i only got 3 new credits this year. Apocalypse and west coast racers at summit and mummy at Universal hollywood. West coast racers might be my favorite of those 3.
Winners: Velocicoaster, leviathan, yukon stricker, behemoth, Expedition everest, legend
Losers: penguin trek, time warp, flight deck
My biggest winners for new credits were Demon at SFGAm, Rail blazer at CGA, Twisted Timbers at KD, and Steel Force at Dorney.
Steel Taipan is the only Blue Fire clone with a swing launch and backwards-spike (afaik), so does this make it a clone or an original layout?
I still say clone, but with a twist. Literally
Did you ride the mountain coaster at Park City?
Yep. That one was great
I became a coaster enthusiast last year and rode a bunch of new credits this year. Prior to this year I had only gone to Cedar Point, Kings Island, Hersheypark, Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Dorney Park, and Michigan’s Adventure minus Universal Orlando back in ‘04 and ‘07 when I was a kid.

#3. Copperhead Strike- Carowinds
#2. Apollo’s Chariot- Busch Gardens Williamsburg
#1. Jersey Devil Coaster- Six Flags Great Adventure
I drove by this park and saw Merlin's Mayhem's chainlift but the park was closed so I missed the credit 1:19
Hey! Be nice to Big Bear! The launches were pretty punchy!
Yeaaah its a fun ride its got that going for it
Took my 3 year old to sesame place over the summer and was blown away by Oscar’s wacky taxi. Sat in the back and was getting tossed out of my seat the entire ride.
I have yet to get on flying turns as well. I missed Knobels this year, and seems like everyone got it this year.😢
This was THE year
The only major looser I can think of is Corkscrew at Cedar Point.
My biggest winner for this year was nemesis reborn and my biggest loser was velocity at flamingo land (vekoma booster bike)
My friend hates on Pheonix at Knobels's when we rode it the air time dropped his package on the thing that's in the middle of those seats.
Thats how you know its good
If you ever find yourself in Southern Europe, make sure to hit up Tobotronc at Naturland in the tiny country of Andorra. It's the longest alpine coaster in the world and therefore technically speaking the longest roller coaster in the world.
My new for 2024 winners were in order
5- the beast
4- top thrill 2
3- diamondback
2- mystic timbers
1- orion
Why aren there backwards seats in the USA yet? Any predictions when it comes
Very very soon i bet. Makes no sense why they wouldnt. They could have done it on Copperhead strike
I've got 5 winners and 2 losers from my new Credits this season
Winners:
1. Monster at Adventureland
2. Zambezi Zinger at WoF
3. Primordial at Lagoon
4. Tornado at Adventureland
5. Bombora at Lagoon
Losers:
1. Defiance at Glenwood Caverns
2. Wicked at Lagoon
I definitely haven't heard great things about Defiance
My winners are,
Motocoaster darien lake
Nitro
Kingda ka
Superman ride of steel six flags America
Bobcat
Batwing
Top thrill 2
Wildcats revenge
Losers
Skyrush
El toro
Ride of steel Darien lake
Raging bull
Just went to Nickelodeon for the first time too, was able to rope drop Shredder with my brother and they let us sit 2 on one side with the other side empty. Was an INCREDIBLE ride! This is probably my highest rated spinner as a result.
Flying Turns my beloved
It's weird to say that I got more new credits than you this year, but you have to go way out of your way for new credits, but I barely have 150
Oh yeah, airtime thrills uploaded
I realy aprciead that Flying Turns is high up your list. Somtimes a small coaster made by love, pasion an nostalgia just is fun
The park city alpine coaster is definitely A LOT better
Yeah 100%
I don’t have a winner because I didn’t get any new credits but my biggest loser is still sidewinder at Elitch gardens.
I got 129 new credits this year
Coasters that exceed my expectations:
Zadra (energylandia) - now my number 1 RMC
Voltron (Europa Park)
Leviathan (Canada’s Wonderland)
Studio Tour (movie park Germany)
Tantrum (six flags Darien lake)
Van Helsing’s Factory (movie park Germany)
Behemoth (Canada’s wonderland)
Hydrus (casino pier)
Predator ( six flags Darien lake)
Oscar’s wacky taxi
Wilde beast (Canada’s wonderland)
Vortex (Canada’s wonderland)
Wild wave (play lands castaway cove)
Revolution (Bobbejaanland)
Frank n coaster (house of Frankenstein)
Big Dipper (Camden park)
12 that were worst
Fury (Bobbejaaland)
Star Trek (movie park Germany)
Great nor Easter
Maximus Der flug does watchers (Legoland Germany )
Iron menace (Dorney park)
All American triple loop
Phoenix rising
Penguin trek
Cobra (Walibi Belgium ) - tracks so poorly
Professor screamore’s skywinder
Devil’s loop (legendia)
Typhoon (bobbejaaland)
Rip great noreaster. Is it getting rough?
@ It wasnt bad at all but I would put it below every single B&M invert I’ve rode. Solid ride but was expecting it to be a mid tier B&M invert going into it.
@alantrotter2077 yeah I definitely put it ahead of some inverts but not many
My biggest winner: Montu
Biggest losers: Ghost Rider and Iron Rattler overhyped and lacked any forces
Definitely true of Iron Rattler. I liked Ghostrider after they smoothed it out with the retrack/rebuild.
I stalled because I thought I knew #1… sorely mistaken or not
My #1 winner and loser come from the same park, Kentucky Kingdom
My winner is Lightning run, I came in not expecting it to be elite, but it's ahead of rides like mako, diamondback, Orion, and outlaw run and is my #8 coaster.
My loser, Storm chaser, that thing was insanely rough for an Ibox and I hated it, it had worse transitions than an arrow mine train and was not fun at all, it's down past rides like matugani, mine blower, and white lightning and out of my top 25
Shout out to outlaw for being my most surprising coaster, no one said a word about this cci woodie but it was insane and better than rides like beast and new Texas Giant.
Another coaster (hilariously also in the same park) that was insane was dragon slayer. Me and my friend got 11 full flips and one half flip. It was insane and ahead of rides like freeze and Texas stingray
Storm chaser rough? Thats a new one
@ it was nylon wheels and back row, those don't run so well
Big Bear Mountain is a fun coaster and a good step-up multi-launch coaster for kids. How far out of the way would you say Beach Bend is from Kentucky Kingdom? I'm making my first visit to kingdom next year and was curious if it wasn't too far off the beaten path for bend.
Sandy's is an awesome coaster. The best one at Nickelodeon Universe imo. (Yes TMNT Shellraiser SHOULD be #1. But it was so horribly rough.)
Out of 25 ridden, Snowbird is easily the weakest of all alpines for me so far
Mind Eraser at Six Flags America is my least favorite coaster credit.
Dragon at Adventureland in Iowa is mine. The best thing that park did for the public was to remove it. The pre-lift bunny hills it had were like getting into multiple car crashes in a row. Horrible, horrible ride.
Biggest loser of my 2024 trips was lighting rod with the chain did not live up to the hype and thunderhead was the best in the park
Never rode Lrod with the launch got to ride it this year and was super impressed current #1 over coasters like pheonix phantom Skyrush and ofc thunderhead
@@ThatPaKidphonix is overrated so idk. Ghostrider better imo
y’all cry about anything, LRod was amazing even with the removed launch, a bit shaky on the valleys but other than that it’s great
@ don’t got a bunch of credits almost 50 currently, ghost rider looks nuts! But I can’t get enough of Phoenix
I guess there have only ever been 3 Green Lantern coasters, so you can't do a Versus
Yeah too bad
@@AirtimeThrills You could probably get a decent video out of "Green vs Green vs Green", but I imagine that would be somewhere down the list. ("Ugh, another one? I'm _feeling_ a bit green.")
Leviathan at SeaWorld was probably rough because it wasn't built by the Gravity Group, it was designed by them
i rode skywinder in june, and i didn't hate it, granted it was my first slc, andthe only other one i've ridden is riddler, and i rode it like 2 days after it repoened, so it was still running super slow
is the green lantern el loco the same layout as steel hawg at indiana beach? if so then yes, short but sweet ride. big ups for the ride, big downs to the line
GL is a bit bigger and steeper
Biggest winner Toutatis.
Biggest loser Nemesis.
I don't know how much of your audience is from the US, but I would love it of you'd be able to name the metric units besides imperial :) outside of the US hardly anybody uses imperial and it's tough to translate it in my head :p
Winners: Flying Dinosaur, Gekion Live Coaster, Ultra Twister, Panic Coaster Back Daaan
Losers: Thunder Dolphin, Zokkon, Pyrenees
For me the winners consist of, Superman and wicked cyclone at six flags New England, as well as phantoms revenge and thunderbolt at Kennywood. Losers consist of iron menace, Batman the dark knight, racer at Kennywood, and and doo whopper at Morey’s piers
3:28 nice to see a garden state coaster
1:46 rode it with my friend Brian. He never cusses. He cussed all the way through it. That’s how I know it’s a winner.
If you like Oscar's wacky Taxi, wait until you try Roar-a-saurus at Storyland. Most intense kids coaster ever!
So I've heard
Spinning mouse coasters can actually be pretty awesome! I’ve found that Galaxy Spin at Fun Spot Kissimmee is actually a ridiculous amount of fun so long as you sit off-balance.
I only really went to one new park but if I had to pick a winner and a loser the winner would be hagrids and the loser would be hulk
I kind of like Iron Menace… That jolt at the end is really bizarre and it is kind of rumbly for a new B&M, But it’s OK.
My biggest loser is skyrush
We rode Iron Menace in August and didn’t experience any of the roughness that a few of you coaster gurus have reported. I believe you are really exaggerating this one.
Really may depend where you sat. Back outside seat was no good
My biggest loser was lightning rod, cause it wasn’t even open😢
