Murdoch Mysteries is intelligent, thrilling, heart-warming and an all-around great show. All the characters and actors are great and I hope they are around for years to come! Yannick would make a great James Bond!! I just wish the episodes were more available here in the U.S.
Hi, have been following your career long before Murdoch. So great to see you in this wonderful show. It is great. Thanks so much. Sharon Cruikshank, Halifax
We in the USA learned about Canada in world history class! Glad that series is Canadian, the U.S. has our own series here, time to see our own actors on tv here!
Just one of the many attractions of the show is that it has somehow captured the romance of Victorian brilliance, invention and manufacture and the pursuit of such things by ingenious individuals such as Murdoch himself. (indeed, the romance of an individual pursuit of mastery of things is part of the appeal) The programme has somehow got to the very heart & soul and essence of this romance
Love the Series,we were hooked!!! Love all the characters, especially Yannick. We were disappointed when it went off Netflix..so will have to watch on another source or buy the dvds.
I absolutely LOVE Murdoch Mysteries .. or the Artful Detective... my two favorite genres.. Victorian and Murder Mysteries!!! and a bit of Steampunk added in... Love it, just love it!!! I wish I could contact their costume people come how and donate some of my Victorian/Neo Victorian style jewelry for the girls!!!
I definitely understand your enthusiasm(I'm a huge fan myself), but he probably wouldn't want to give that information away. People like their privacy and famous actors have to be especially careful about such things.
I think Canadians are "simple" for the most part. But they are, in the same breath, heart-warming. This is Murdoch and friends...dumb but well-dressed in period costume. I love the series I do I really do. Love me or leave me...
@Don Thall, I agree with your first sentence. Sadly, it's taught, it's the privilege level and the fact Canadian Culture is "not rocking the boat", not speaking up for oneself, self-oppression, not questioning anything or anyone including oneself, not being critical (outside of during conversations with the odd friend or lover who also says atrocious things about those who "are" (seem) and think and speak and love and... differently than oneself), not being analytical of anything including oneself, having a long-running trendy disinterest in politics and authentic Canadian history and world history, being complacent in an easy, lazy, social issue denying, leisure/intoxication/partying/entertainment/pleasure focused lifestyle). To the beginning of your second statement, I respond: I take it you're not a self-respecting and "good" (ethical), conscious woman of African or Indigenous North American descent living in a mid-size Candian city, then... There's a LOT going on that those not living in Canada do not know that has been going on for a long while. Subtle disrespect and social oppression enforcement is nearly refined to an art form. The circa 1970s / 1980s reputation that Canada and Canadians experience is far from accurate and absolutely undeserved today, sadly. It could have the potential to be the most progressively intelligent, humane, and evolved country but not enough of the majority human group in Canada are willing to invest in the personal efforts to take the responsibility and personal strength to care or think or identify themselves in the perpetuation of political and social issues or self-educate or unify or act.
