    I have the grinder. Right now just for my drip Moccamaster. But nice to see that you can change the grind without having to grind first after changing grinding size.

    I've not heard of the French press coffee, it's not something we do in Australia.

      Yes it is, but not usually at a cafe. A French press is a cost-effective and simple method of making coffee at home, it's just not espresso. Eg, I have an espresso machine at home, but make French press coffee at work.

    Please don't call a pour over/hand drip coffee method by a brand name. It's confusing to those that might be looking at learning different methods of making coffee. French Press is a TOTALLY different grind from a filter paper method.
    Also, I just don't understand this nonsense of everyone rinsing/wetting the paper filter claiming that it removes any possible flavour from the paper. To be honest, anyone making that claim doesn't have a clue what they are talking about because if they did, they WOULDN'T use bleached paper filters at all. The other annoyance is this dog's breakfast of measurement standards, pick one and stick with it. Since the WHOLE world is using metric, go with metric, it's far easier and then we'll all be on the same page. Water boils 100c and freezes at 0c. 1 litre of water weighs 1 kilogram. 1000 grams in a kilogram. To the knuckle draggers that rate hotties out of 10, you're already using the metric system.

    Why did you let that latte just sit there?

  • @MaZEEZaM
    @MaZEEZaM 8 років тому +2

    If he was making a latte it should have been in a glass, he used a cappuccino cup. Btw an espresso is usually purely a double shot of coffee in a tiny cup. I used to have a customer who would order a takeaway double espresso which is equivalent to 4 shots of coffee (no milk) with 3 sugars added, gotta be bad for his heart. Looks like a great machine, I would just hope it had the option of a manual steam jet so you can easily control the steam pressure.

      You can adjust the steam temp. Its set at 135 from factory but ypu can take it to 140 which is also a higher pressure

    What a slow grinder! and the noise...

    • @RoastedBattleSquirrL
      @RoastedBattleSquirrL 5 років тому

      The sound is identical to the built-in grinders in the Barista Express etc. I didn't find these to be suitable to make grinds for normal espresso filter baskets (it does work with the Breville Dual Walled filters, but pure water works on those too).

      @@shameelali2549 With mine i could never get any pressure to build up, even on the finest setting. Using a Lido-E grinder, it would work. But my Breville is (was) the first model that came out, i think.

      @@RoastedBattleSquirrL hey not sure,I have the 870 with the grinder built in,but I do want to buy the dual boiler with the separate grinder,I use very fresh beans,and iam around 10 on the grind scale,if I went slightly more fine I would easy max the pressure gauge out.

    • @RoastedBattleSquirrL
      @RoastedBattleSquirrL 5 років тому

      @@shameelali2549 Well if your grinder lets you grind fine enough to choke the machine, it should work fine - unless the grinds are very inconsistent (lots of coarse mixed with lots of fines).
      The dual boiler works very well, i'm happy with how i have control over the entire brew parameters.
      But yes, you DO need a good enough grinder too, and the grind quality is even more important than the espresso machine itself.
      Personally i'm currently using a manual grinder, the OE Lido-E which produces OK results, but i have a Niche Zero on order...
