Hey Brian, good to be here with you again. This is another band I didn't know and it was good to meet them. Thank you for introducing us!!! Nice shirt Brian ;)

My favorite Jethro Tull lineup was from 1971 to 1980 (although the whole catalog I like). My favorite piece of music of all time, by far, is Thick As A Brick (1972). Ian Anderson also released six albums under his name between 2008 and 2014. A couple of them could have been released as Jethro Tull but he didn't want to use that name for some reason. Then he released two Jethro Tull albums in the last couple of years (2022, 2023) with essentially the same band he had during that period. The Ian Anderson album from 2014 "Homo Erraticus" is particularly good (not to downplay the others) and reminiscent of earlier Tull. Listen to the opening cut "Doggerland" a great intro to a great album. I think Tony Iommi did a short stint with Tull after Abrahams but quit because he didn't want to work for a dictator! I've seen them in concert about 10 times. The first was 1973 in Utah for the Passion Play (another favorite) tour. I also saw Ian in 2013 for the Thick As A Brick/Thick As A Brick 2 tour where they played both albums in their entirety! And couple more times including 2023. A new "Jethro Tull" album is due out in October 2024 and in between he and his current band continue to tour.

Tull are such a great band - almost a genre in themselves; and Stormwatch is also one of my favourites (I think it is often overlooked and underrated by people that only consider their earlier albums).
I do not think that Toni Iomi ever recorded with Tull - he was in their appearance on the Rolling Stones TV show (but do not think he played live) - not sure if he played any live shows or not.

Tull is one of my favorite all-time bands. Mick Abrahams was their original lead guitarist on their very first album. He co-founded the group with Ian Anderson but had a falling out immediately after the first album and went on to create Blodwyn Pig.
