  • This is a step by step guide on how to get Jeti ExBus receivers to work with Betaflight F4 boards. In this example, I used the iFlight Nazgul all in one 5 inch FPV quadcopter. It took a lot of try and error to get this to work because I could not find any other guide or documentation about FPV and Jeti.
    1. Bind your RX using the bind plug
    2. Set one output port of the RX to Jeti ExBus using the devices function of your Jeti radio
    3. Solder a servo wire to the flight controller using ground, 5 volt and a TRANSMITTER tab
    4. Plug in your Betaflight FC
    5. Set your UART port to serial based RX. No other settings needed.
    6. Configure your unit to serial based RX and select the protocol Jeti ExBus.
    7. Double check your inputs. They should work now. You might need to reconfigure the channel mapping either changing it inside Jeti or Betaflight.
    8. Configure your telemetry sensors and map them whereever you like.
Have fun flying! I hope I can get more people to try Jeti and FPV. So far I had good experiences with this combo. I like having a quality radio in my hand and I did not want to buy any additional radio just for FPV. No extreme tests done to this so far, I cannot say anything about penetration. flying between trees and behind small buildings was no issue so far.

This is a GREAT video - thank you very much!
I will put a Jeti RX on the next 5" quad, and might put one of the little RX's on a smaller quad also! THANK YOU

Hi Pascal, nice video. Let me ask you. I am a Jeti user too and recently found an iNav but my invitation into the iNav world was no pleasant. I have crashed twice because the iNav got frozen during the flight and I lost control completely. Is it familiar to you? (I fly iNav 6.0 and Matek H743-WLITE / JETIEXBUS) thanks

So far I never had any freezes with my iflight copter. It is not using a Matec board though.

@@PRHeli If you would be so kind and have a look into the iNav and the "version" command in a CLI? I would like to know what version of GCC is there. Thank you :)

Amazig tutorial, it works for me perfectly but i am having range issues. I am failsafeing in like 500m with ds-12, duplex R5L ex and the two antennas in 90 degrees angle apart from video antenna, any idea what can be the problem??

This is why i wait to buy an Jeti TX... but now if it works... thousend times better then Graupner, and higher Quality as my Radiomaster TX16....

Thanks you very much! This works also on X-Rotor F7! I've wasted hours till i found your Video.

At last a video using Jeti with FPV, COULD you share the model setup as i have never set up a FPV drone with Jeti thank you

I literally set nothing inside the transmitter but one or two switches. New model. Drone. Done.

How is the experience of using it instead of another tx? Like, stick feels etc? Thanks

I had to get used to the ergonomics first. I previously used the Futaba T8 which I liked more from the shape and switches. I did not use any FPV style radios yet so keep that in mind.
The DS12 took some time getting used to and could use two sliders in its side for additional functionality and the hall gimbals are okay, nothing special. They feel better if you buy the Carbon DS12 which has metal gimbal construction.
From what I have SEEN, not used, is that there are very competitive and well made other radios out there for FPV. The Jeti sets an extremely high standard for all disciplines which is why it is so popular and why I love it, too. But for specialized applications, you might be better off with a small and light FPV radio.

@@PRHeli I am using an frsky x20s because I fly fpv drones but also wings and planes, trying to find a tx that can handle all of them is quite hard.
My option would be to use the exbus to crossfire converter made by Rob, as I need crsf or expresslrs for lightweight drones and range reasons that Jeti cannot handle. Hoping the total latency will not be that bad.
Otherwise, I am curious about the stick response and tension as the global geometry seems way différent that what I'm used to

    • @PRHeli
      @PRHeli  2 роки тому

@@stevenmorisset4307 Stick tension is very well adjustable. I also bought different gimbals, though M4 threaded ones are hard to find. Geometry is sth you need to find out for yourself. The DS12 has rather short travel which I really like but apart from that is just like any other rx radio for planes.
