I've been working on this one behind the scenes for weeks. This is the first of many videos that I have planned for the newest Pocket Go. In this first video, we are going to take a look at how this little system handles Playstation 1. - Ігри
Big oopsy, that game 3:24 is in fact Disruptor and not Diablo (I edited this video at 1am)
Sleep is for the weak.
@@mkuktra9 well I guess Im weak sometimes cuz I like sleeping lol
Great game btw
i know that feeling lol
Great video mate!
3:17 Disruptor instead of Diablo (for anyone wondering)
We need to get this comment pinned
Did not know this game Disruptor :)
That's Diablo 4
Haha! Thought not!
Lmao I had to run to the comments knowing someone had to have said something.
I've been messing with obscure handhelds since the days of the GP2X and Dingoo and remember when full speed PlayStation emulation on unofficial hardware (read: not a PSP) was just a pipedream.
Seeing just how far we've come since then continues to astound me.
The Dingoo was such a great little machine. :)
Yeah, also i cant wait for ps2 handheld like this.
@@mirasam3370Maybe in 5/6 years if you mean on a chinese device like this.
Mira Sam they have one that uses a ps2 bored I think. So technically not emulation I guess idk.
P Lawrence I remember wanting one so bad. I would honestly still love to find one just to compare it in person with a more modern console. It’s a piece of gaming history.
I've been looking all over for this thing to no avail!! Thanks Master Taki for the quick peek in, and I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to more awesome videos!! Keep up the amazing work! 😎🕹🎮
PS1 runs very smooth like on the Retro Game 350, Thanks for sharing Taki ;)
Very crazy cool effort!! To even get hands on this !!! (; Thx for showing the performance so far!! I think were getting better and better as far as gaming on the go goes..this is so insaine when u remember playing this back on the olds days in a TV using a DISC DRIVE.
I've been watching the channel but todays video made me believer I'm new to the channel but your content is defintely great looking forward to more upcoming videos.
Been playing Disruptor on my Powkiddy X18 all day! Its cutscenes are something else!
Excellent video! So many cool little devices for retro emulation these days. Something for everyone!
really really love your content. it's narrowed down my portable emulator search so much
Thanks for the quick first tests. Looking good.
Thanks for the awesome video and the heads up about the presale. Already order one up. I had the pocket go and was a cool device but having one that works with ps1 will be super cool since i never had the opportunity to play those games.
Congratulations. Thank you very much for all your efforts, both seen and unseen. I’m looking forward to see just what this will do. Did they happen to drop any hints on what that price point they are aiming for with this unit?
Really enjoying your channel, you're producing some excellent content.
Would it be possible to film closer to the screen? If you look at this video only a very small part of the on screen footage is of interest, namely the pocket go's screen. It makes it harder to see the quality of the emulation
Now it looks like a proper device, glad to see the are going for de v1 model aesthetics
Great Video Taki
This looks so promising I’m gonna garb this as my first hand held emulator when it come out
Great stuff, one suggestion though - since many of the games you show play at 60fps, it would be even better to offer a 60fps playback option for your videos.
Yeah, that's the bad thing. I don't have a 60fps 4k camera and I need to record in 4k to limit aliasing.
Great review Taki.... Can't wait for more reviews? N64????
That’s amazing. I want it now lmao! Finally, we’re getting close to the perfect, affordable handheld
This is becoming the best channel to get a first hand extensive look at these. Good timing as they are coming out the flood gates these days. Does this allow for 2 player support with another controller?
Handheld is actually good for 1 person use, it suitable to play your childhood game that you missed to finish the mission as you when kid, play alone, yes it have many retro games like contra that can play 2 player in this device but it will not give both player to play at comfortable feeling, if you want to play like that just buy cheap retro console, this handheld more for easy to go person, not to play party, yup your questions just like you going to obama house and asking him, "hey obama how trump doing ?
@@keisuketakahashiREDSUN: I have no idea if that's a yes or a no. You're off your tits. Go take your meds and try answering that again.
@@Mistraker Handheld = solo playing and Console = multiplayer thats what the other guy wanted to say.
Pokkle - Some handhelds do 2 player, that’s why he’s asking. You’re basically telling him he shouldn’t be asking bc it’s a handheld, but it’s actually a valid question
@@froschente yes yes
Another contender. I wonder which of the current new handhelds will be the best.
Thanks! Keep us posted on release
Big thanks for all of the work you put into this channel!
One question: How about Secret of mana, and other titles that don't run so good on RG350?
I wonder if those are just Secret of Mana's usual frame drops you're referring to.
Christoffer Bergquist hmm, maybe its the same as on the RG350 cause its use the same hardware.
I got my RG350 now and SoM looks like a charm for me. (on firmware 1.7)
@@mopeybloke I thought this was the case since I saw the choppines (35/60 frames per sec) in this video at 12:32: ua-cam.com/video/3zFEs2AlmgY/v-deo.html
Was expecting it to be sold out, but just placed an order for one just a few minutes ago
Kind of excited :)
I bought 2 of them, I think the 1000 unit are unlimited. Just business strategy.
MUCH improved over the early prototype images that everyone was posting on Discord. Of the RG350, GKD 350H, and this, I feel like I like the look of this one the most.
But... You might already know I'm going to ask..... Is there a dust problem with the screen on this one?
I do appreciate the stereo speaker on the RG350 tho. Directionality is part ofwhat makes the game engaging.
Thiz lookx cool Taki niice bro, i like the 1st one too tho ;)
Thanks for the sneak peak!
Could you try testing MegaMan legends 2 and street fighter ex 1 and 2?
Hey cool, no draw-in issues with Crash Team Racing! That was an issue on PS Classic and I think Raspberry Pi as well.
Awesome work, Taki. Can you do a comparison between this and the GKD 350h? I'm almost making up my mind 😆. Cheers
Hard to decide isn't it! :D
I know that feeling bro 😕
Omg, i love this !!!
Looks great. Do you work directly with the manufacturer?
Wow this is amazing! Anything you threw at it was played at full speed! Have you tried N64 in there? How does it perform? We might have a winner here
Please do a video once you know the specs, price, and release date! This competition between all these retro handhelds has got me super hyped. So hard to decide which one to buy.
me to i cant make deside befor i see vedio betwen all these retro handhelds
All of them
This looks awesome. Would have loved this new cpu in the old form factor, but what's an additional half inch on the bottom?
Purely aesthetically I like this thing the best out of the three devices of the most current generation.
Awesome! Please test UMK3 and Killer Instinct both from Mame, supper interested in got one of those if works well.
Seems like a cool little device. It seems to have CPU power to spare as far as PS1 emulation is concerned. I didn't notice any frame drops or audio hitching so it has to be doing pretty well. I would be interested to know what took your time up with this unit (I am assuming it was probably issues with the pre-release software or something like that).
Outstanding
Great video an great machine! Thanks 😍
Do you prefer a android machine like "super retro handheld" or zpg?
I need a powerful machine for dramcast & n64.
Thanks.
That is really solid performance.
Now if we could just get full speed N64 we might be beating a raspberry pi portable in price and performance. That is what I look for.
My powkiddy x18 does a great job with Saturn and n64.
Love the Powkiddy x18 and GPD XD + platforms.
I would save for the XD + for that sweet sweet 5ghz wifi
it's a matter of software not hardware, so it's a matter of waiting better firmware and emulator update.
I think a jailbreak on psp will run far better
It looks amazing.
thanks for your presentation
This looks like a def buy if that screen is that nice and the feel looks good is it 3.5?
The audio doesn't have to be front-facing. The audio slits take up space for a potential extra thumbstick.
What I'm BEGGING for in a new handheld is L1L2R1R2 triggers in the two finger typical layout. Not this line you have to reach over to press. I would sacrifice a sleek pocket fit to be able to press the shoulder buttons easier
Me too man. Something like the Nintendo Switch lite has. This needs to happen.
@@vidi0t could they just flat out rip off the molding of the switch's shoulder button section or is that like patented
Good job, my friend!
I do not why, but the screen seems a little bit bigger than on rg3500 and gdk350h. Can you check it, please?
I have the original Pocket Go and this one is incredible! I'll definitely buy one. I'm not seeing any screen tearing. Is the joystick analog or not? If it isn't then I might wait for Pocket Go 3 which might come with 2 analog sticks...
How about bloody roar 2 and tekken 3?
really nice
nice video
Hello taki i love ur channel and wanna ask what the first top down stealth game is thank u
Metal gear VR
Had me sold the second I saw MGS VR missions and RE3, I would assume MGS1 and RE1 & 2 perform just as well?
Please test doom 1 and 2, quake 1,2,3 and maybe some hexen 2...
And especially doom 2 mods... Like brutal doom
The good part about this very fast cycle of upgrades its you didn't need to way for 3 years for good releases. This one is perfect for me, it plays PS1 games smooth, has 4 shoulder buttons and none thumbsticks (Never use one playing ps1).
Very impressive so far. Some games look to be running too fast?
please make a video of how to install PS1 games on these devices.
im getting an RG350 but have no idea how.
watched almost all of your videos, great work!
I covered that in a video for that device.
Was thinking about getting one of these, do you have to do anything special to play through multi-disc games?
Thanks for sharing!!! Cloud this unit run SEGA cd and 32x?
Not 32x
Maybe I just haven't been paying attention but it seems like these kind of devices are going thru a bit of a renaissance period? I followed the Dingoo a decade ago, whose success practically seems like a fluke, and most alternatives that came out around then just didn't stack up at all, either in design or support. I stopped following for a while but nowadays it seems like there's a new one of these one-upping each other every few weeks.
A good test for these devices would be Bloody Roar 2 or Tobal 2 since both games run in hi-res mode and Tobal 2 even features hi-res textures (for the time/console)
Hi, thanks for sharing this, preordered mine. Possible to copy my gba saves from original pocket go to this one?
Great another handheld I want.
Is there a side by side comparison for size , with the old pocket go?
How is the new PocketGo compared to the RG 350? They both seem to be very solid due performance.
Screen refresh rate is my biggest question, since the previous was 50hz. Also, yeah if this had a second analog slider, it would be so much better
There's literally no need for a second analog stick but ok
@@skrep123 what are you talking about? even gran turismo let's you accelerate with the analog stick to control the throttle better...
SOME games do use it so... yeah, with the right stick it would be so much better.
@@skrep123 It emulates ps1 games. Try to play ape escape with 1 analog. Lol
@@aurelios69 yeah that's literally the only one lol.
@@skrep123 alien resurrection, also uses the second analog stick. And they shouldn't be the only games.
About that device. What's the screen resolution? I find you omit this information often in videos.
I actually never omit that in any of these devices reviews. I put it in the fridge section of all of them. Check actually reviews, not emulation tests.
@TakiUdon How does this console handle disk swaps for multiple disk PS1 games?
I never got my head around that voodoo.
Man if the price is right, by this test seems it may be the top handheld for portable emu. Since it has One Analog, could you test N64 next?
I'm impressed with this one. It seems to be running PS1 games rather well. I'll be keeping an eye on this thing.
I know you gonna show me the good stuff
Right that good good🔥 he got ;)
If this had also another stick...
They gonna put it on their next console so you can buy it.
Yeah for like the 10 games that would support it, half of which -maybe- would run well
Nah its no big deal. Want it, buy a rg350
@@jlim003 Even the PSP had one stick, so still not needed unless we get GC,1Xbox, PS2 emulation.
@@franciscobutte i hope so , because some psx games need/use it like Ape escape , Alone in the dark the new nightmare , spyro etc
Francisco Butte I’m ready for that to come out.
i hope it goes on aliexpress before black friday
Looks incredible! I would love to know the battery life on this thing when the review is out.
Hey, boss, is that a real analog stick? If it is how would you compare it with RG350's and GKD350H's sticks? Which analog is more console-like in performance?
Ah snap, I just bought the PocketGo, haven't even received it either. But oh well, still prepurchased the new one and I'll sell the other one for a small loss. Still worth it and this new one seems to rival RG350 in performance so yay!
Getting this one for sure if it's under 100$
can you test tobal 2, vagrant story, mgs, wipe out 3, tekken 3, Castlevania SOTN, einhander, rtype delta, soul reaver, fear effect, omega boost, driver 2 (games that pushed the limits of the ps1) thanks
SotN has been tested in another video somewhere on UA-cam - it's only the starting area, but it runs perfectly from what I saw
Wow! I heard that Spyro is one of the hardest games to emulate.
Any pointers on when they think to release this? Early 2020 I hope? Takes me back to the dingo days ...
They still need to fix stuff before the full release. It's all minor, so it shouldn't be much longer.
So I know you don't like to base your opinions of a device on arcade performance, but as a lover of arcade games, I would really love to see what this can do. I'm sure it'll run Neo Geo ok, but I'm curious about heavier stuff like CPS 2/3, Sega STV, IGS PGM, Cave titles, and more.
Give me a list of specific games you want to see and I'll test them if I have them
@@TakiUdon I'd love to see Marvel Super Heroes, Alien vs Predator, Dodonpachi, EspGaluda, Battle Garegga, Demon Front, Die Hard, Radiant Silvergun, In the Hunt, and Cyber Sled. That's just off the top of my head, IDK if this thing runs a new enough version of Mame to even support all of these, but they're in a similar league as PS1, kinda.
Oh and if you could give your thoughts on playing vertical games with the unit held sideways that would rock. Many arcade games use that orientation and this system looks like it might be shaped alright for some vertical games.
Looks good so far. Out of curiosity, is there an FPS limiter in the settings somewhere? I've noticed that Megaman Legends is running at double speed and I'm thinking that limiting the framerate to 30 FPS would fix that -- and potentially for any other games that have the issue.
Also looking forward to your other showcases for this device.
Would you mind testing Grandia?
I really wish these companies could come up with something better than just using a phonetic translation of their Chinese name as their company name and then slapping it in big bold letters on the front of the device. The perception that Chinese made products of this category are generally of cheaper quality or made with unscrupulous methods isn't going to go away anytime soon and having a logo slapped on the front only calls out to that fact even more.
Hell, at this point I'd prefer a literal translation of their company name: "Sweet Pomelo".
Plus that bottom bezel is just OBNOXIOUSLY huge, even with the logo.
Taki, does it have a low battery indicator and can you exchange the battery?
Hey girl good questions...this lookx cool but i like the 1st one its smaller and cuter lol
Yes and yes.
Taki Udon thank you!
this looks promising
Hello good day! I wonder, what is the name of the first game you tested?
I preordered one mainly because of the form factor. You think it still will change?
Not that
Really great performance, minor texture issues, and some other accuracy issues (MML too fast, pretty sure the FF8 soundtrack is missing reverberance). Considering this thing isn't even out yet, this is a really good sign. There is clearly nothing about the hardware preventing these games from working perfectly sooner than later. But still I'm unable to tell if the refresh rate matches the FPS from the video. I really hope they don't fudge that up this time. 60hz or go home.
(Actually, 50hz wouldn't be bad, either. About time we get a way to play PAL 50hz classics. Any refresh rate other than these two sucks, though.)
tenka footage says diablo in text
That's Disruptor. Tenka has some big round bibbitybobs in the bottom-left of the HUD.
@@TrollDecker I was about to say Powerslave, so I'm glad someone knew the right answer. I would far prefer to see how Diablo plays, since many emulators and consoles have problems with its CDDA sound, including the Playstation Classic.
MML looked to be running 2x speed. Is that due to the emulator?
Probably
maybe it's something related to PAL/NTSC rom
@Don Vito try to run the same rom but NTSC instead of PAL or vice versa, I heard of that fix in another video about the NES Mario Bros 3 that played faster, and it was because of PAL version
Cpu is 1.5ghz?
What is different with gkd350h?
Thank you
1Ghz
GKD350H = 1.5GHz CPU
RG350 and pocket Go 2 = 1GHz CPU + 3D accelerator
Any verdict on this compared to the RG350?
I can't get any save state option menu got any psx or fba games, any suggestions?
Awesome Video!
so, your verdict? is this better than the 350? Because the price is quite different, I want buy one of them.
is there any framskip activated?
I wish I Get That One
Why are games like Crash displaying 60/60 FPS if they are 30 FPS games?
And why does Megaman Legends look so sped up?
It just means they are running at full speed internally
How well does it run Bloody Roar 2 and Tekken 3?
Megaman Legends is running extra fast. Was that on purpose? Another video I saw an NES game running at a higher speed. It's making me very hesitant with these.
You need to use the PS1 bios
