You do not need to take the battery or airbox out. i just took the top part of the airbox and took out the ECU. and lift that little black box to the side a little bit and you can have access to all the bolts. crazy to take everything apart
Definitely subbed, I currently having a strong vibration that started in the front passenger side and has gotten worse.I was thinking of starting with the motor mount then looking into this 2nd.Amazing details and much appreciated.
Great video. Did the whole job in a couple of hours. Both mounts were broken but car has 160k on it and never replaced them. My 06 civic has something else going on though. Sounds like around the timing chain (not a belt). Might be the tensioner. Only makes noise when in gear, not in neutral. Looks like the belt flops around a little bit. Hoping not anything inside. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
hi thanks for uploading these videos. i have a 2006 civic coupe. the car was vibrating when engine was running so i changed the engine mount and the vibration was fixed.but when changing between gears i can feel that the engine is moving a bit more than it suppose to. can you please help me what the problem could be.i am thinking about transmission mount?
Reshad Amiry sounds like the torque mount underneath the vehicle towards the rear of the engine. If you go to the video page on my website atwww.howtoautomotive.com and search Honda engine mounts all my videos will come up.
Kevin Bachez I am not aware of the bolts being recommended been replaced. I did use the factory mounts. If there is a link that you know of recommending the bolts being change if you could put it in the comment section for others to see that be cool.
purpledonatello you would jack it up where it's flat on the bottom of the transmission using a block of wood. I'm not sure if a screw jack would work. A regular floor jack is best.
Hey my honda civic 08 lx shakes alot when im at a redlight or ideling also when cold start mornings when i put it in reverse it makes a metal hitting metal sound kinda jerks too. Then whem im driving likw 10-20 mph thr car kicks a lil when i take my foot off the gas then step on it again. Like you do when ur at stop signs. ( stopping and going). I have a feeling it's a bad motor mount but I just don't know what Mount if you could be the motor mount or transmission mount I don't want to buy the wrong part Thank you!
DabSHOW you can do a power brake test to determine what now is broken. You'll put the car in drive and hold the brake and stomp on the Excelerator pedal and release it while someone stand on the side watching the motor to see where it rises and falls. Then you'll do the same thing in reverse. Most likely it's the one by the radiator the one by the drive belts and the one underneath by the fire wall. The transmission mount most likely OK.
My civic is shaking and vibrating real hard only when i put it is reverse gear and when the engine is cold. Once i start the car for 5-10 minutes it stops vibrating in reverse gear. Its automatic car and only vibrates in reverse. Could it be the transmission mount?
you can look at the engine and see if the left or right side is vibrating more And you can also have someone look at the engine while you are shifting to see if there's more movement
李子豪 usually these mount sag and create vibrations or one of the other mounts break putting all the load onto the transmission mount causing it to break.
I have changed my motor/ passenger side but the vibration has not gone away. When open the hood, The airbox and the engine are vibrating at the same time. Should I change the diver side mount as well? How do I check it if it need to be changed. Please help! Thanks!
Phong Vu can you take a floor jack slighted under the vehicle and slightly jack up the engine on the oil pan or transmission you can kind of determine where the vibration is.Use a block of wood on it so it doesn't damage the pan.
I would like to add that factory mounts are defective and fail prematurely. Mine have been replaced 3 times with 90k. Use aftermarket mount. Visors and cv joints have Been replaced 3x too. My niece has same car with same 3 problems too. Mounts visors and cv joints are the most defective honda parts on this car.
aftermarket is a pain in the ass I need a different brand for each location. certain ones have better fit than others. for the transmission mount eagle works best lasted three years

you've got to disconnect the negative battery terminal before disconnecting the ECU or else you run the risk of damaging it.

bigxdaddyxsef sounds like one of the Mounts are bad. Thank you for watching!

i watched the video how can i diagnose it if thats really the problem?
Reshad Amiry without me seeing it is hard for me to say for sure if it's the problem.
Did you even replace the bolts that were recommended & did you get OEM like you said?
Kevin Bachez I am not aware of the bolts being recommended been replaced. I did use the factory mounts. If there is a link that you know of recommending the bolts being change if you could put it in the comment section for others to see that be cool.
How to Automotive
it said you need to replace certain bolts on torque spec diagram

on what position did you jack your transmission? people told me i had to jack oil pan and transmission? can i use siccsor jack?

8th gen Honda Passenger side factory engine mount $302, aftermarket- $25 to $65.
quakerlyster exactly! If you get a aftermarket that's good then it's just as good as oem

absolutely valuable video to watch.....
What were the symptoms and why did u replace the mount?
Gghyggty Gyhuyfsa The symptoms are vibrations and also thumping noises on acceleration. You also may feel the thump.

Ok, thanks..
Gghyggty Gyhuyfsa thank you for watching!
How about the engine moving when punching the accelerator. What a bs job honda made this to do!
vibration on the right side of the engine
Anyone know when or why we have to change this?
李子豪 usually these mount sag and create vibrations or one of the other mounts break putting all the load onto the transmission mount causing it to break.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was because I’m having the same problem and it irritating to feel the vibration
Good stuff buddy !!

How do you remove the rivet on the air filter box?
Has anyone here been using aftermarket motor mounts? If so do you wish you should just got oem instead?
aftermarket is a pain in the ass I need a different brand for each location. certain ones have better fit than others. for the transmission mount eagle works best lasted three years
You have no idea what you're doing, calling parts different names, not showing you removing it
