Because in truth they were not working for Donald Trump. They were working for the mega corporations, the energy industry and the gross to obscenely rich people. Trump just happened to be elected president. But the Republican Party handed him all of those people( at least the serious but dipshits like Steve Bannon, that was Trump's choice, sort of figures doesn't it?) Because they still intended to do what they have been doing for 40 years or more, tending to the needs of Corporations and the obscenely rich.
