That single wire isnt large enough to support the total amp draw of both fans at full power. I'd recommend that each fan get a separate circuit/relay for safety purposes. Itd suck to burn the truck to the ground because you shorted out the single wire.
Greg I had the same problem on a fresh rebuild . I hooked to small turbos up for towing but have 300hp injectors.peak I would see 120 psi. One thing ive learned and this is for all engines but especially anything turbo. You need negative pressure in your crankcase. Positive crankcase creates a world of problems for your turbos draining and feeding oil , robs your engines of HP blows oil past seals. The easy solution is add a an bung to the intake of the turbo run a line add a catch can and tig another bung to your valve cover or buy a vacuum system.
american Patriot keep up the hard work and you will have one buddy been there. Now I have a few trucks and trying to grow a channel keep up the hard work it will pay off.
I've never had any luck with the billet side covers, ended up going with the factory valve cover breathers that have two valve covers bridged, stopped pushing oil and actually vented the crankcase. The tappet area allows too much oil to sit there that will push no matter what. Running double the boost from factory will always build more crankcase pressure than stock and just inevitably pushes oil because of location. This was also on a good rebuilt 12 valve. like i said, valve cover breathers allowed it to properly vent and no issues after that, still runs like a Swiss watch. part number for the valve cover breathers is PDP12Vvcbkit from Pure Diesel Power.
Redo that with much larger wire, or wire each separately. With a ~22 amp draw according to Flex A Lite, you need at least 12 gauge, and preferably 10 gauge wire to handle the load efficiently. That standard Duetch DT connector isn't rated for the amperage either at 13 amps, need a DTP connector rated at 25 amps.
Just went thru a 1993 12 valve out of an air compressor. 3600 hrs, 2nd time being overhauled. Stock rings gapped over .070” with a spec of .026” ish. Had a ton of crank case blow by. Bored it .020” over, new piston heads, new main and connecting rod bearings clearanced. She runs like a raped ape now! Whatever you do, definitely go thru the short block assy and make sure it has its ducks in a row🤘🏼
If you dremeled the lip of the fan right around the top bracket area would that give you enough clearance so the fan is flush? Maybe some on that top bracket so it fits the shape of the radiator? That may be enough for the fan the slide all the way in without dremeling the lip off of the fan? I love all your trucks they are just so sweet. Keep on living the dream.
Get some dual valve cover breathers from power driven diesel and let her breather properly. 100psi through the stock hose won’t be good for it. You’ll end up turning all the seals inside out
Vented valve covers will work better and keep the vent away from the oil. You dont have enough crankcase vent. You'll start pushing oil out of the seals.
Greg you should look into those new Hamilton pistons from the marine ISB's that PDD is selling. I bet those would be perfect for the rebuild at these power levels
Seriously vent through the valve covers to a vibrant catch can and plug the holes in the lifter cover before you tear this thing to pieces again. World of a difference. I don’t expect you to take that advise, but your motor isn’t toast, not even close yet. Also, bum the timing to slow down the egt. No reason to be much under 30* at this point.
Run all your relays where the ground is the switching wire, this way you don’t have a Hotwire running into the cab! Saves the possibility of a short and a fire. Worst case the guns stay stuck on. Lol. Lots to learn....
Julian Grossinger it would be screaming like a banshee under boost if that hole was open, I did that once and you instantly knew!!!!! The kit has a plug that when screwed in is recessed In the hole.
Check out your break booster it looks like it’s go a little bit of stuff on it. I know it probably pukes a lot but I don’t see why it would be up in the engine bay like that.
I was digging through my shop at work and found that you have the same soldering iron I just threw out. Lol. I couldn’t get it to fill to save my life. 🤷🏼♂️ lol. I’m happy w a $10 soldering iron anyway. The previous guy was questionable and just liked to waste money anyway lol
I’ve got a question, my Fleece turbo came with out a silencer ring. So I installed my old one. When I called today to ask a return question about the core, I asked about the ring. The said they have a reason to leave it off.It is not needed. Even after they hog out the case, the silencer ring does not interfere with the opening. To me it flows air into the charger much cleaner. Anyone have any thoughts?
Don't worry Greg, if it blows.............My 12 valve could always use some shiny new parts. HAHA. Its not going to break, Its an "American Diesel Engine". If it does, hit it VIOLENTLY all over the place with an 8lb sledge (the "Persuader"), that carefull technique will easily replace every Red, White, and Blue Bald Eagle that escapes after a 12 valve goes "Super Nova"! lol
Shocking! That an engine that had all the scoring you showed this one had would have blow by especially under increased boost... Told you then you should freshen the shirt block up.
Hell, those fans are louder than some railroad locomotives! >spoiler alert!< in the next video, Greg_A gets a citation for violating city noise regulations... 🤪

First gen Cummins is my dream truck, been saving so I can get one by my senior year.
american Patriot keep up the hard work and you will have one buddy been there. Now I have a few trucks and trying to grow a channel keep up the hard work it will pay off.
I bought mine my senior year, got it for a good price before everyone started wanting a arm and leg for them
Takes time brother 💪🏻 don’t lose faith
I'm rapidly approaching retirement years and just bought my first last year. Keep the faith, and look for southern trucks.

I was waiting to see the spool bus in the drone intro 👀.

pls learn from ur mistake and do the short block on the 24 valve while ur at it
I missed Greg. Was too busy with work. Me love those trucks. Greg is cool!
I love my flexilite fans on my 2nd gen. They are loud like the truck. Love hearing them running after shutting truck off. People actually stare 😁.
the drone is back!! 👍👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🤘 hay the 1st gen sweats a little bit,but atleast shes not sittn in the old barn where found her being neglected😉😉🤷♂️🤷♂️
Love the intro but it needs a little more cow bell.
Andy's truck is gonna be so cool. I hope he does the polished with paint matched.
Awesome awesome video Greg A, oh man poor ol short block 12V rings they’ve, paid their dues lol.
Vinyl floor hack for floor mats. Use bathroom carpets, they have the rubber grip backing. No problems in my 4th gen
Glad to see the 1st gen on a video!
I like that white evo when Andy leaves!
Evo 8😍
I had my Wrenchworkz shirt on all day at the SCT Kickoff Party! It's pretty cool when people recognize the logo!
I wore mine all day today. I had a guy mention it before

I watch and like EVERY single video.. Gregory..
Time to put 15-50 oil in the first gen with some Lucas
Get some dual valve cover breathers from power driven diesel and let her breather properly. 100psi through the stock hose won’t be good for it. You’ll end up turning all the seals inside out
Great to see things are working out brotha
What about the big rig?
Man the first gen needs some sandblasting on that frame.
Let her rip tater chip. Put a catch can on to see how bad it really is Greg.
If you pause your videos at random moments while you’re talking you make the funniest facial expressions
Greg, whats the wheel tire size in yellow mega? Thanks
Very nice drone footage 😬👌
mikestrucks where’s Dixie?
David Moore i bet he is sleeping in his truck....😆👍
Vented valve covers will work better and keep the vent away from the oil.
You dont have enough crankcase vent. You'll start pushing oil out of the seals.
Love that red under the hood of the first gen
Greg how do you get the lower radiator bracket out on a 2008? The first gen looks great and I bet it’s fun to drive.
You need 1 or two of those vented valve covers. The billet tappet cover isn’t very well baffled
Going to have to vent valve covers
Greg you should look into those new Hamilton pistons from the marine ISB's that PDD is selling. I bet those would be perfect for the rebuild at these power levels
That rust will come back unless you cut and replace the metal juat letting ya know
Just a small observation but I think you need a plug on your intake where it goes into the head
Are the willwods for the Minion mobile?
Game changer is it possible to put the second gen 24V with that 12v spare block and send it ?
Love the 1st gen! Good job on the vids man! 👍🏻
There is a special crimper and pins for those doitch connectors. Way better than splices mid wire. Wiring with relays is the only way with doitches.
Yeah that wiring is a shit show for sure. Way under sized.
Run all your relays where the ground is the switching wire, this way you don’t have a Hotwire running into the cab! Saves the possibility of a short and a fire. Worst case the guns stay stuck on. Lol. Lots to learn....
List of wires/parts needed?
Who doesn't love a self rust proofing vehicle?
Work hard like always, amazing job with awesome Cummins 😀 nice videos.
What's that song at the beginning?! Sounds great!
Does Greg have another full on drag truck or is the black one that?
Um is there a plug missing in the intake horn
What do you do for a living?
Those tabs for Andy’s truck are pasties!!!lol
Would you ever build another pull truck
nice 1st gen Greg
I don’t know if I’m just seeing things but it looks like you’re missing one of the plugs in the monster ram where your grade heater would be
Julian Grossinger it would be screaming like a banshee under boost if that hole was open, I did that once and you instantly knew!!!!! The kit has a plug that when screwed in is recessed In the hole.
I'm a simple man. I see Greg A video notification, i like Greg A video.
Andy - "or your girlfriend.....sorry"
Lol!
Andy needs to get some brushed aluminum wheels!!!!
I wouldn't put weathertec's in a manual truck because they fold up in the front & get caught in the clutch pedal.
Where can i get a shift knob like that?!?!?
Drag truck update?
Check out your break booster it looks like it’s go a little bit of stuff on it. I know it probably pukes a lot but I don’t see why it would be up in the engine bay like that.
When you gonna open up a full time diesel shop Greg
Your going to need a few more road draft style valve covers ....
What does Greg do for a living?
Oh yes 😬👍
I was digging through my shop at work and found that you have the same soldering iron I just threw out. Lol. I couldn’t get it to fill to save my life. 🤷🏼♂️ lol. I’m happy w a $10 soldering iron anyway. The previous guy was questionable and just liked to waste money anyway lol
Just sweating horsepower! Send it!😂😂
Piston ring gap, it happens on every Diesel engine when running high boost .
“Kinda” went and bought sleeves! LOL I can’t help but point it out!
how long till andy deletes the truck?
Time to put some valve cover breathers on it.
When the music started in the beginning did anyone else think it was the Tokyo drift theme song I almost died laughing 😂
"Or your girlfriend" - Andy Savage
😂😂
should have done switched ground
Kevin Madden Rookie mistakes still.
One day my content will be this good 💪🏻💪🏻 can’t wait to have my 2nd gen this fast
I’ve got a question, my Fleece turbo came with out a silencer ring. So I installed my old one. When I called today to ask a return question about the core, I asked about the ring. Get an oil analysis done just for the hell of it! Would be good entertainment
Don't worry Greg, if it blows.............My 12 valve could always use some shiny new parts. HAHA. Its not going to break, Its an "American Diesel Engine". We know where the bumblebee motor is going now
The first gen needs a miter cut stack again. Flat top is no good 👎
Anyone no were I can find a good block for 98 24 valve?
long time no see
And paint!!! Please paint the block black
Shocking! That an engine that had all the scoring you showed this one had would have blow by especially under increased boost...
Told you then you should freshen the shirt block up.
Why don't you put the First gen on the PJ and then tow it to the meet with the Spoolbus?
The more oil it leaks out the less rust you will have 🤣
Why do all that work on a old tried motor ? I dont understand that part but I would rebuilt the motor when you had it tore down during the winter....
UA-cam content. Lots of wasted money and time for content, redoing things over and over is more videos.
Because it only takes a day to pull rebuild and put backin the truck if you have all the parts before hand
Might need to have a little water injection for EGT’s!!!
This video started out like a sons of anarchy, diesel edition
Hell, those fans are louder than some railroad locomotives! >spoiler alert!< in the next video, Greg_A gets a citation for violating city noise regulations... 🤪
Greg your grid heater delete is misssing a bolt or plug
Gang Gang 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Powder coating oil catch can 🤷♂️😂
Leaking oil is never good. Sorry to hear...damn. Really like this truck.
Put quad turbos on it already
Just re route the breather back into the valve cover
Husky contoured floor mats are better and rubber not a slippery hard plastic like the weather tech mats are
Hey rid of thoes lead battery terminals. You will have better electrical current for all thoes power hungry upgrades.
Hey Greg will you be having your firstgen at Daytona, I have one as well @jera80 love the vids
Throw a catch can on it and let it rip!
Aye I love ur video and I subscribe and turn on post notifications
