My favorite of theirs is "How Great Thou Art". I actually played their version during my mom's memorial service a few years ago. Best version I've ever heard.
It's my 2nd favorite hymn so I'll listen to today. My favorite hymn is This is My Father's World. The best version is by Allie Rogers. I like it best bc the video is good. Also have yall heard Sydney Christmas the winner of BGT last year. There's a UA-cam video of her singing all 3 songs from competition. Tomorrow, My Way and Somewhere Over the Rainbow. She's incredible ❤❤. Happy Thanksgiving Ya'll 😊😊
With the holidays upon us, Please PLEASE listen to Home Free - Do You Hear What I Hear. One of the most beautiful and haunting versions I've ever heard. An amazing video.
Love these guys! Please dive into the rabbit hole. They’re just as good live. That’s a no-monica you’re hearing from Rupp! All five of them can beatbox, just not to the level of Rupp.
In case any Home Fries missed it, PBS Great Performances had a Patsy Cline tribute last night and the guys performed a Patsy song at the Ryman and then sang back up a la the Jordanaires for Rita Wilson one of her songs.
Yup, that's the nomonica. Some of my HomeFree faves: In the Blood, Butts Remix, Sea Shanty Medley, How Great Thou Art, and Ring of Fire, to name a few. The rabbit hole is deep. But with the holidays approaching, you should really check out their version of Do You Hear What I Hear. Adam did the arrangement.
OML. You're a Home Free virgin? They are amazing. The did a remake of Elvia, and invited The Oak Ridge Boys to sing it with them. Kenny Rogers invited them to do Children Go Where I Send Thee, with him. Both are amazing.
The jaw harp in this song is done by Adam Chance on a looper. Adam Rupp is making the harmonica with is mouth. No instruments involved. This is my favorite version. I hope you will react to "Skull and Bones" written by Adam Chance for a video game by the same name. "Brothers in Arm" has out of this world harmonies!
Just for 💩s and giggles, you should do a double Home Free reaction, All About That Bass followed by The Butts Remix. That would put smiles on you face!😊
Home Free is the best! The do a huge variety of music and each have a very impressive vocal range. They will make you dance, cry and fall out of your seat laughing. They have great personalities and sense of humor and are genuinely good people. Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range and Adam, the beatboxer, can't be beat. I don't even think of them as an acapella group anymore but just my favorite band! I hope we get many more Home Free reactions from you! ( they have great Christmas songs, by the way. I would suggest their recently released music video " Can I Come Home" . Bastien, their new member , wrote it and is singing lead. )
You heard the "nomonica" that is one of Adam's specialties. If you watch their cover of "Ain't Going Down till the Sun Comes Up" he moves his hand enough that you can see there's nothing hidden, just pure talent. If I was a professional singer I'd be terrified to have them cover one of my songs, the majority of the time their covers sound better than the originals, regardless of who did the original.
This is one of the most popular Home Free songs. It was the first song I ever heard from Home Free & I was instantly hooked. It really showcases the talent of these 5 men (their tight harmonies, Tim Foust's bass & Adam Rupp's incredible beatboxing). They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney. Some of my favorites are "Take Me Home Country Roads", "In The Blood", "Blue Ain't Your Color", "How Great Thou Art", "Ring Of Fire", "Elvira", "Hillbilly Bone", "Seven Bridges Road", "Helplessly Hoping", "American Pie", "Brother In Arms", "One Man Band", "Listen To The Music", "Sea Shanty Medley", "Skull & Bones" etc.
You should find their live version of Working 9 To 5 with the beat box breakdown. It is well worth the watch. Welcome to Home Free's rabbit hole and you will be a Home Fry (Home Free fan) in no time. They are the best at what they do and we love our guys. Can't wait for more reactions.
Yes, Adam was doing the harmonica and he’s not the only one who can do it. Austin (lead here) can do it too and when live he joins Adam on stage and they both do harmonica. Also the new high tenor Bastien can do it too. They can all beatbox to a degree. This song was made popular in the movie O Brother Where Art Thou but it is over 100 years old and has been covered by lots of singers. This is so good. Enjoy the rabbit hole that is Home Free!
When a man loves a woman - Mayday - End of the road...they are all good. You can't go wrong with Home Free. I haven't heard a clunker yet and I've listened to most of their catalog.
@@genny5309 Yes. Mayday needs to be heard after you get used to what they normally do. BTW Tim Foust (bass) has a range of 5 octaves and has blown out speakers in concerts.
You want deep, check out Home Free, Ring of Fire, featuring Avi Kaplan (Avi was the bass from PTX). The notes they hit and the range they have is crazy.
They do this ish live and it’s still amazing. You really can’t go wrong with any pick, try their cover of Listen to the Music from the Doobie Brothers.
Man of Constant Sorrow was my introduction to Home Free and the gateway to becoming an avid Home Fry (Home Free fan). For a real change of pace, check out their cover of Boyz2Men's "End of the Road"... they have about 300 videos on their UA-cam channel. Welcome to the Rabbit Hole.
Discovered these dudes a couple of years ago and I have a whole playlist of nothing but HomeFree. They are phenomenal 🎼❤️ This is a whole nother rabbit hole you need to go down… you will not be disappointed
Really enjoyed your reaction. Home Free is an unbelievably talented group. While they lean country, they can sing all genres. For more country, there's Ring of Fire (featuring Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix), Elvira (with the Oak Ridge Boys), God Bless the USA, Take Me Home Country Roads and Crazy. If you like oldies, give a listen to When a Man Loves a Woman, American Pie (with Don McLean) and Brothers in Arms. They even sing some R&B... check out End of the Road. And there's How Great Thou Art if you're looking for a little Gospel. If you want some laughs, Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget and their Butts Medley should do the trick. Finally, all of their Christmas stuff is fantastic. The aforementioned suggestions only scratch the surface. Enjoy your trip down the rabbit hole that is Home Free!!!

There's that Home Free smile. How can you not? If you want more Adam Rupp, try their cover of the Doobie Brothers' iconic Listen to the Music or Ain't Going' Down til the Sun Comes Up. The latter is only on their Facebook page, unfortunately. You get a full harmonica solo in that one. Simply amazing.
I know that it's an older song from them, but if you want to hear Tim's ( the deep bass normally) octave range check out the song "Do you hear what I hear". Been a home fry for about 6 years now.

They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is IMO Sorry for the long read 🏠🍟
The Butts Medley was the first song I heard of theirs. I was laughing so hard, I had tears. To take a bunch of songs about butts and mash them together (with no actual ladies butts In the video) and then throw in some country twang was unreal. The transition from song to song made it difficult to remember that everything was coming from their mouths. The "ham sammich" had me rolling. Amazing!
@ I know it’s amazing it’s all vocal. I love their mash ups they are always hilarious. My favourite is their Country Fried Pop Medley or The Sea Shanty Medley
All vocal, but they use a looper heavily in this one, and have often used this to show the audience how the looper is used. Adam Rupp does the drums, but uses the looper so he can do the harmonica (called by fans no-monica) over the drum part. Rob Lundquist doe the ostinato 'dup-dup' that runs through most of the song, and that is captured early on the looper so he can sing. Similarly Adam Chance (called Chance to tell Adams apart) does the mouth harp sound that runs through nearly all and the looper is again used - I have heard that sound is hard on his voice, so that's another reason the looper is used.
@@setonhillstudios I've seen them as well, and Tim's bass notes aren't just heard, they're FELT! You can feel it through the floor and your whole body!
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. You WILL get lost in it, and you will love every minute of it. What do you need to check out? Everything, but I'll toss out a few suggestions. With Christmas coming up: Oh Holy Night - There is a moment where the beauty of the sound literally feels like a gut punch. Every single listen. Do You Hear What I Hear - Was never a big fan of this song before, but I love this version. Super unique sounds. Others: Listen To The Music (Doobie Brothers cover) - Their most fun song, in my opinion. Brothers In Arms (Dire Straits) - The #1 thing in the original is the guitar and they are acapella, so this is a song transformed. Take Me Home Country Roads (John Denver) - Just another great one. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For - collab with Peter Hollens (U2 cover) - Fantastic version, also a great intro to Peter who is another fun acapella rabbit hole. They also used their Patreon supporters as a choir, which makes the mixing work to make dozens of voices recorded in dozens of different environments sound good together absolutely legendary. Like I said, the answer really is everything. The talent is off the charts. If you enjoy acapella, you'll love these guys.
I'm glad that you have finally discovered HOME FREE! You're going to be bombarded with suggestions so I'll just say "Happy listening" because their video library contains a broad genre and you're bound to find 30-40 that you'll fall in love with. haha
Adam even has a "tutorial" on doing it on YT. I put that in quotes because it's like those old "how to draw an owl" tutorials - "draw a big circle down here, put a smaller circle on top overlapping just a little, then fill in the rest of the owl..." (Actually it's not quite that basic, but it still doesn't get you very far. Sorry Adam!)
OMGosh, I am so surprised this was your first Homefree reaction. I am so glad you went down this road though. They are absolutely amazing! I think you would LOVE their "Butts Medley"
I believe they are the very best a cappella band ever! And they sound this good live too. Gotta hear Helplessly Hoping for a testament to their perfect harmonies. More please.
Well, I'm just confused now. I'm a huge Home Fry (Home Free fan) and that usually brings me to the various reactors initially. I've listened to at least 20 of your reactions and never noticed the absence of Home Free content. I'm slipping dude. lol Listen to more Home Free please. Anything they do is between good and completely awesome!
they got a new member and Adam Bastien brings a less country flavor...more pop but just as good...Yes Homefree is my absolute favorite! You cannot go wrong with any of it but Folsom Prison,,Hillybilly bone, Stand by me... Unchained Melody just to name a few!1 I have been to 5 live concerts and did the meet and greet talented and humble and better live!!!
Oh you should see them perform Elvira with the Oakridge Boys or Children Go Where I Send Thee with Kenny Rogers. And when are you going to start reacting to Christmas videos? Because one you have to react to is the For King and Country version of Drummer Boy.
It is crazy it is phenomenal. They are unreal. I thought the same things. Does he really do that, just with his mouth? They are just so perfect together.
The song was written in 1913 by Dick Burnett. The first popular version was by The Stanley Brothers in the 1950’s. You should definitely check out that version
From wikipedia -"Dick Burnett is generally credited as the writer of "Man of Constant Sorrow". Burnett first recorded the song in 1913 under the title "Farewell Song". However, his Columbia Records label refused to release it and destroyed the master. The song's popularity grew in the mid-1950s after Burnett's friend, John Cohen, introduced it to the folk music scene."- this song has been around for more than a hundred years.
3 arrangements they do where all five sing incredible harmonies: Brothers in Arms (low bass) How Great Thou Art Helplessly Hoping (Crossby Stills Nash cover).
Adam Rupp vocally provides the harmonica and drums and Adam Chance provides the digeridoo/juice harp sound. One of Adam Rupp's best drum parts is on their cover of Ring Of Fire and his best harmonica part is on their cover of the Huey Lewis and the News song Workin' For A Livin'. Great Reaction. 🤙✌️
Do you hear what I hear, fishing in the dark/boondocks, and brothers in arms are the first 3 I'd suggest after this one. They have hundreds of songs on here though and can't really go wrong.
God Bless the USA, champagne taste on a beer budget, American Pie, End of the Road, When a man loves a woman, sea shanty, butts remix, and for Christmas, full of cheer.
If you liked the bass singer, Tim Foust, give a listen to "Misty Mountains" from the Hobbit, with Peter Hollens ft. Tim. Just the two of them, 120 layers, and Tim will make your insides rattle!

The Greatest Gifts Of All ( Tim Original
There's not a song that you pick from their 200+ catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet.
They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys. They are the best A Cappella group there is IMO
Sorry for the long read 🏠🍟
The Butts Medley was the first song I heard of theirs. I was laughing so hard, I had tears. To take a bunch of songs about butts and mash them together (with no actual ladies butts In the video) and then throw in some country twang was unreal. The transition from song to song made it difficult to remember that everything was coming from their mouths. The "ham sammich" had me rolling. Amazing!
@ I know it’s amazing it’s all vocal. I love their mash ups they are always hilarious. My favourite is their Country Fried Pop Medley or The Sea Shanty Medley
It's a rabbit hole you won't want to come to an end. I've watched most of their songs many times over and never can get enough.
"Try Everything," "Mary did you Know," "Butts Remix," "Folsom Prison Blues," "Working for a Living," and on and on 🙂
Welcome to the Home Free wormhole!! Always a treat, never disappointed!!
I have been able to see them live three times. They bring fire to everything they do. They are something else. You just fell into a rabbit hole.
I'd love to see em. I'm gonna Google and see where they'll be next yr 😊
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
That’s awesome! I bet it was EPIC! 😁
With Christmas coming up:
Oh Holy Night - There is a moment where the beauty of the sound literally feels like a gut punch. Every single listen.
Do You Hear What I Hear - Was never a big fan of this song before, but I love this version. Super unique sounds.
Others:
Listen To The Music (Doobie Brothers cover) - Their most fun song, in my opinion.
Thanks! I love your' reactions 😊 Check out The Butt Remix! It's hilarious 😂😂😂
That should definitely be on the list!! 😂
I'm glad that you have finally discovered HOME FREE! You're going to be bombarded with suggestions so I'll just say "Happy listening" because their video library contains a broad genre and you're bound to find 30-40 that you'll fall in love with. haha
If Home Free uses an instrument it is out in the open. Adam plays the nomonica and taught Austin how to do it too.
You MUST go down their rabbit hole. Every song will blow your mind.
Welcome to the rabbit hole ❤
The only instruments used are what they were born with.
I believe they are the very best a cappella band ever! And they sound this good live too. Gotta hear Helplessly Hoping for a testament to their perfect harmonies. More please.
Watch "Elvira" that they did with "The Oak Ridge Boys" who did it originally.
The “Nomonica” Rupp is the best!!❤
That's what t they call a NO-MONICA!!!
Check out "Blue Ain't Your Color"
VoicePlay, Home Free, and Pentatonix are the big 3 of the acappella world to many of us. With those three, you know it's always going to be good.
Unchained Melody just to name a few!1 I have been to 5 live concerts and did the meet and greet talented and humble and better live!!!
yup... he does that harmonica with just his hands and mouth.
The first time I heard this I was speechless
Two other great songs with Adam's "nomonica" Are Working For A Living and Ain't Going Down Till The Sun Comes Up.
Love both those songs.
The harmonic is crazy in their cover of "ain't Going down till the sun comes up" on their facebook page
So wild!!! 😳
Glad you found home Free
You HAVE to use headphones to get the FULL extent of their depth and range. #MindBlowing!
Welcome to the "Home Free" rabbit hole!
All instruments are generated by his voice
VERY excited for this rabbit hole!
You and me both! 😁
When A Man Loves A Woman is an absolute must!!
I've seen lots of posts to listen to that song so ima Google in a few !!!
Welcome to the rabbit hole. It's all by mouth. These guys are amazing and just as good live. Check out their cover of End of the Road
3 arrangements they do where all five sing incredible harmonies:
Brothers in Arms (low bass)
How Great Thou Art
Helplessly Hoping (Crossby Stills Nash cover).
#HomeFree is the best 🤘🤠🤘 I hope to see more ❤ check out their version of the Doobie Brothers Listen to the music
Check out the bass Tim Fousts solo album. He can hit high notes as well!
They are AMAZING ❤🎉
One of the greatest bands in versatility. ❤
