    Those liability warnings are because they know that someone is inevitably going to die. That's basically overhead line voltage and current where it can be easily touched when complacency happens.

      @TimothyFluegel  Рік тому

      😆 🤣 😂 I love the way you said. Could not have been more accurate, not that someone might die.... someone is going to be stupid and kill themselves with it for sure 🤦‍♂️. I understand the liability claims for sure, it might be a different operator that gets back in the seat. The company that makes them is family owned great people, that feel blessed to make a living selling these so they definitely don't deserve a lawsuit on top of everything.

    Zapping weeds is better than walking them when I did that for my grandfather once I passed out walking beans. Once I passed out five times in one day, it was cause by the heat, and you have awesome video footage, which is what I like 👍👍👍👍

      That's for sure Turbo! I've scientifically the last 6 years Pulling by hand, this thing is a game change for sure. I've never passed out due to the heat but I've had peyote working with that have its not a good situation. But I've had vitamin D poisoning more times than I can count 😆

    Seeing the flames reminded me of the night top fuel qualifying session at the U.S. Nationals. That machine is awesome, glad to see it making a big difference in the weeds for you. It would be awesome to be able to do custom zapping with it too. I had a few places in my field where the co-op couldn't get into to spray and the ragweed was about 5 feet tall already. There were beans under it all but without any way to get rid of all the ragweed I just bush hogged those spots. Figured it was better to lose a few beans than to grow that much more weed seed. Thankfully most of the field is cleaning up. I'm really happy for you Tim, hope you get a really good price this fall and I hope you have an awesome crop to sell! Thanks for the video Sir!

      I had a similar situation a couple years ago in my beans, I disced about 2 acres of ragweed out that year, and also decided that year to do away with end rows. It's made my life so much easier all the way around. And now with the zapper I need to do a 3 point turn to get back in the rows at the end, so if really be beating up the end rows so I don't think I'll change that practice. Thanks for watching Evan!

    Glad to see your happy with your new toy. It looks like it was a good investment. As a fellow organic farmer I totally know where your coming from. One thing that I have found that works really good is rolling the ground after planting. It slows the germination of the weeds way down, so the corn and soybeans get way ahead of the weeds. By the time I come back to cultivate I can hoe the dirt right over the weeds because the crops are tall and the weeds are still short.

    • @TimothyFluegel
      @TimothyFluegel  Рік тому +1

      I've found the exact opposite to be true when it comes to rolling the ground. Especially when it comes to foxtail. Witch is a constant battle for me here. I used to roll every year. Then one year I tried a side by side test in a 10 acre patch, I ran the cuptipacker across half it and left the rest, the foxtail flourished in the ground I rolled and that half of the field yielded 10 bushel less than the part I didn't roll. I found that the gas grew alot faster than the soybeans mainly because I gave them a perfect seed bed, I've found that a good planter that gives just my soybeans a nice packed seed bed and leaving the rest lose alows the beans to germinate faster than the weeds and grass, and get ahead of them. Also with the loose dirt, the rotary hoe and drag are able to do there job better. I think of the hay kings, when they plant grass or clover, hay, ect they like to roll it to pack the seed in and make it germinate faster. That's definitely the last thing we want in organics lol. Long story short I've retired my cultipacker and am never looking back 😆

    • @stephenfonder7409
      @stephenfonder7409 Рік тому

      Maybe it is just the difference in your soil type. I don't use a cultipacker it is a smooth roller so maybe that makes a difference, I guess as long as your happy with what your doing, thanks again for the video about your weed zapper.

      Thankyou Eric. I just posted a crop update last night. It shows pretty good what the zapper did a couple weeks after. There was alot that wasn't over the canopy and didn't get zapped I'm doing a 2nd pass this week. But everything that it touched is definitely dead at this point lol.

  • @jazzerbyte

    Wow - that fire show at night really highlights what it's doing. Good demonstration of the overload patch of weeds - it's great that they can still be zapped in multiple passes. It will be interesting to see if the ironweed patches are reduced on future years if they don't go to seed as often.

      Thankyou my friend. I am one lucky farmer to have this machine. I'm a firm believer in carma. I try my best to be positive and to spread my positive attitude. At the risk of sounding like a hippy good vibes 😆 🤣 😂 it's a big part of my spirituality, I interpret the good book a lithe differently than most. I see god as every one of us, we're all part of God, when the Bible says one with God I take that in a very literal sense, the universe the planets were all made from the same thing. That being said I Bellerive were all connected in some strange way that i don't understand but I Bellerive a positive attitude or good vibes towards all is important to having a happy life and directly related to being blessed with things like this weed zapper. Thanks for being here my friend it means more than you know.

    I understand tho whole reason behind this being you are organic farming. I am curious about the cost per acre forgetting for a moment the purchase price of this vs. say a traditional cultivator and manual labor (rouge crew) The fuel burn of the 7060 under full load while decent isn't great at that ground speed and making multiple additional passes, your thoughts please?

    • @TimothyFluegel
      @TimothyFluegel  Рік тому +2

      I was acualy just doing the math before I was only guessing at the fuel consumption. But I used just under a gallon an acre so 150×3.80=$570 in fuel. So to do it 2 times it'll cost around $1200.
      So organic soybeans have been pretty steady at $21.00 per bushel.
      When I hired it done my average went up by 7 bpa. But I've been saying it gains 5 bpa for sure.
      So 5bpa on 150 acres is 750 bushel at $21.00 is $15,750 gain.
      As far as a ground crew if I cloud manage to find people to work we wouldn't have cover 20 acres for 1200 dollars. When I hired it done he charged 75 an acre to Zapp it.
      But either way I figure it will pay for its self in 5 years and that's if I don't do any custom work with it. And that's all not mentioning the seeds that won't be there in the corn next year. It's hard to put a price on that.
