Cool fact about Old School Mfg. I work as a CAD/3D parts drafter at a laser cutting fab shop. We make a lot of parts for these Weed Zappers. Old School wants to have every worker smiling while working on their orders, so they always add 10% to their bill to pass to the employees. Some months my portion is up to $500. We don't do Old School projects every month, though and the bonus is not always that high. But if they keep selling more....🎉
Zapper is super cool. Are there any approved organic weed control products out there that you also use, or is mechanical and zapper the primary control methods?
It does take horsepower. We run it on a 300 horse tractor. I wouldn’t want it on anything smaller for our application. We can run 4-5 mph at 40 feet. So cost per acre really is pretty low.
You can run as close as you feel comfortable. I try to run as close as I can without getting beans. Do get some beans sometimes. A bean leaf has real fine hairs and sometimes if I skim them the Zapper does not hurt them.
Depends on the field. If it is spotty you could pick areas to zap. We do that in fields where we have weed pressure in spots and you don’t need to go across the whole field. That way we prevent those spots from going to seed.

Outstanding video.
Had no idea that this is even a device to use, thanks
Have you ever tried to kill small grains like oats, barley , trit or rye with the zapper?
I've had ours out for a couple weeks. Love it, second year running one.

Feild cultivator, rowmove, and the zapper all shold meat organic standarts
We use a Row mow, in row roller crimper, zapper. Not all of them every year. Depends on the year.
Do you think it would it zap seed heads off of grass weeds sticking over the crop?
Have you used a zapper on milkweed? If so how well does it work?
ever used in pasture? clip tops in june, would think about following with zapper in July/Aug...
Never have tried in pasture.
What is cost per acre to run that zapper. I heard it takes a lot of horsepower to run the generator.

How accurate can you manage to control not to hit the beans and yet catch as much weed as possible? Do you get any beans at all?

Could the Zapper be used for crowd control?...
As long as you can get the coulter to ground.
Hmmm...good point...Tee Hee
Do you just pick the worst areas to zap?
