Well done Bill, I hope you win GPHG award, that would be crown of your work . After so many educational videos you deserve it. Aleksandar, if you want to get in on one of the projects, sign up on Pure Horology FB page. It would be great to have you. The last thing I want to do is to start a watch company! Take care, Bill
Beautiful work but on the Lyrique One, I don't understand why the number 8 is cut off. From a design perspective, it doesn't work, like scratching on a chalkboard. I would be best to move the minute dial down a bit, perfectly centered between the 8 and 9 o'clock position... BUT, I understand how that might not be possible. The position of the minute dial is determined by the movement. Moving the minute dial down just a few millimeters might not be possible without substantial change to the movement.
Thanks for explaining what goes into making a bespoke watch. I’m your brother and would trust you with $7000 to make a watch. Good to see others trusted you with their money as well. Congrats on the fine watch you and your group created.
Hi Bill. It sounds like a great idea, so long as the up front payments were promptly received. Your graph is most interesting. In comparison, I wonder what the volume to average price ratio is at Seiko?
You are quite right Tuna; such an undertaking is not for the weak-hearted or -minded. Lyrique will probably be going with about 100 subscribers per project. So work out the math for Seiko, Rolex, etc, and we are but a blip on the radar...but an affordable blip with hand-made craftsmanship and originality. Take care, Bill
Congratulations Bill. This was excellent and showcases that union makes strength. The story is remarkable, you got not only an outstanding watch but a story worth telling. Love to read it as well some day. I suspect this is just a start for Lyrique…

Hi Jade, keep in mind that any group can do it. The more collectors who work together in groups to create watches they want, the more it helps the real horological craftsmen and watchmakers. Take care, Bill
Hi Bill. Amazing work. Follow u guys in some talks over the topic and I am pleasantly surprise of the result. Nice watch, nice detail of the watch and very nice choice for the case. Just one question, from where it come the choice of the subdial cutting the number & just leaving a small stroke. At first I was skeptical but together with the hand choice the dial sound quite balance and homogeneous. Very good work, chapeau. Love it.
Alberto, we had a choice ... leave the 'stub' of the '8' or erase it. We chose to keep it as a 'beauty mark.' The hands were from a watch designed by Derek Pratt for Urban Jorgensen (See Reference 2 and Reference 3 - www.acollectedman.com/blogs/journal/derek-pratt-the-forgotten-watchmaker )We tried to choose excellence all along. Take care, Bill
Impressive work and impressive results! This sounds like an extremely high-risk/high-reward proposition, though. Even if everyone involved in organizing the group buy is 100% trustworthy, all it takes is one person falling victim to a phishing scam and the money is gone. There's no backsies on wire transfers.
Joshua, all of those things you mentioned kept me up at nigh.We used good security in our communication and with our banking, but anyone who undertakes this kind of organized purchase needs to be careful. Bill: I cannot tell you how much impressed I am with what you have done. The Lyrique Etude One is beautiful. Is there one still around? If not count me in for Etude Two. Whatever watch is good for you is great for me! Cheers! Rafael.

The trouble is with your Opportunity Market for Collectors with limited funds is that they will almost always be squeezed out by the more affluent. This has been going on since the Paul Newman Daytona auction; it's The Invasion of the Moneyed Snatchers.
We collectors are a pretty hearty lot, Clyde, and we will always work to find a way to get excellence at a price we can afford. Have faith, bro! Take care, Bill
