All the pond experts tell you not to use blue dye. It blocks out sunlight which is needed for small micro organisms to grow to provide needed essentials for the pond.

You should never release koi or goldfish in to your backyard pond I mean if the pond is small it ok , but that was the largest pond ever if it flood the fish will be able to escape, koi lay million of egg while goldfish lay thousand then there will be an invasive species problem
Could you possibly put that dye in a soap dispenser hose attachment thing then just spray it out around the pond? Might help spread it out a little better
