    Very nice review, but I have to disagree with you about the ride quality. As someone who just traded in a 2012 Escalade with only 34,000 miles on it. I think the ride is much smoother than the one I just traded in. My complaint is the lost of about 4 inches of cargo area height with the fold to the ground seats.

    I like the refinement of this Gen Escalade but look wise inside and out I like the previous Gen better... I think the Yukon Denali looks better something I couldn't said with the previous Gen. Either way I like it and good video Steve!

    Nice video Steve. I also enjoyed your QX80 review a few weeks ago. My lease on my 2013 JX35 is up in September and so far the QX80 is on the top of my list. Your reviews have been very informative. Thanks again.

      I prefer column shifters because they're out of the way compared to the space-robbing console shifter.

    Nice review, Steve
    Wanted to learn more about the 'Slade. Sounds like 22's carrying 3 tons is too much to ask. If you can put up with a firm ride, sounds great. The softest MR suspension setting couldn't get smooth it out?

    Yikes on 22" wheels. I wish there were a downsize option to get back the plush ride. 20" is only on the Standard trim, which I believe massive enough.

  • @97I30T
    @97I30T 9 років тому +7

    I struggle with how this truck costs $95000. Especially when it's 2015 and it still has that God awful column shifter. This truck really isn't worth a dollar more than $70000 on a good day. All of GM's new full size SUVs are overpriced by $10-15,000. It's absurd! Anyone who buys one of these brand new is a colossal moron.

    • @97I30T
      @97I30T 9 років тому

      ***** I personally think that unless a truck has a bench seat or is the base model, a column shifter does not belong. They are extremely tacky and outdated. They definitely do not belong on a $95,000 truck. GM is the only truck maker that still uses them on all trims. Everyone else only uses them on the base models and bench seat versions. I think that really dates GM. Alas that is just my opinion. We will have to agree to disagree.

    As a paradox; all the safety features this truck has may lower insurance rates. But the snobs who can afford this escalade probably don't care too much.

    • @chloebear1197
      @chloebear1197 9 років тому

      I priced a new escalade at $167 a month on insurance through AIS. However, i would rather wait until a certified preowned one came in. These things lose about a good $35,000 within the first year of purchase alone. Insurance should be better with a used car hopefully. Too bad no certified preowned 2015 platinums are near my area. I'd totally be checking one out. =)

    If I could afford an escalade I would ditch those awful looking 22's. They ruin the look of the escalade which is already pretty subtle and not as eye popping and exciting as before.

      Tex Sledgehammer trust me, in my area there's thousands of luxury high end vehicles especially cadillacs. i've seen a lot of the new 2014-2015 escalades at my school, not a fan of it at all. they should have kinda stuck with the previous design and waited for this design for the future. in my opinion, it's not bad looking, just needed some time before releasing.

      TestDriveNow.com featuring Auto Critic Steve Hammes You can't really compare the RR to a Escalade. Two different worlds. Plus the RR Sport is small. Not a larger SUV. The RR starts at $83,000. Option it out with the the escalade goods and that will be over $100,000.
