One plus piont lads you've had good returns in the end, You've mentioned the possibility of a underlying health problem although they look good and have been performing really well, as a team as well, could consider a low grade respiratory issue in some birds, may be worth covering, but most likely weather conditions being the culprit, good luck and thanks for sharing 😊👍
Don't let a freak race dampen the spirits lads, agree with you I'm surprised that race happened at all yesterday with that forecast, look forward to hearing you got them all back, you put a lot of time, money and effort into racing them though so I get it. Must compliment you both on the loft and garden though, really nice for the birds..Great idea putting the trap in the corner too but again as you said you don't know what they had to fly through as not a nice day at all yesterday.. Thanks lads.
Thanks mate appreciate it , we’ve a right dilemma now though as do we put a line through it or could there be a health problem, it couldn’t have happened at a worse time
@@alibrospigeons8317 you'll know yourselves if theres a health issue with the birds in the results, we all know where they usually place so for me that tells the story. I do hope they are ok, see what the next couple of days bring, eating drinking etc, you will know. They are extremely well kept and looked after so will be surprised if it becomes an issue..
Hope you get them all back mate what strange race it was the same down here on Teesside when there got here came well but were sky high like dots took some getting down like you said seconds cost you on these trapping races
Officially the worst race we have ever flown mate , most of the birds just didn’t leave , we were still getting them straight down the line at teatime . I just hope that is all it was as it’s shocking preparation for next week
A difficult day racing for you both not the prep you want with the bigger races coming up. Chin up m8 a bit disappointing & probably left you & your Dad scratching your heads with this race, regards Dave.
I think we just need to draw a line through it Dave , one thing is for sure if there is a problem they will get found out next week as it’s a 100 mile jump 🤞
Hello Richie, I don't think it's a health issue more it's a difficult lib & conditions on that day on route back, who knows that the frustrating thing your both second guessing as to why or what happened, interesting what the convoyers report will show.
High Guys, surprised your birds were up, the following is not an excuse but maybe a reason. low still cloud, grey sky, not a lot of wild bird movement, everything echoing, never a good day for pigeon racing, only one short! Think you are correct birds slow to clear. chin up guys get them ready for the national. Best of luck 🤞
Right I guess I need to hold our hands up and say that is officially the worst race I can remember us flying . There is a familiar trend looking through the results , some birds left straight away and some birds didn’t and unfortunately we fall into the 2nd category. A full 5 mins behind our fed winner and the first time this season we didn’t win the club. Our mate Dan who I spoke about on the video has been flying fantastic and we just beat him well he had exactly the same race , the truth is we should have been in on the times we thought from the start of the video . The one saving grace is somehow we were only one short when I left at teatime and speaking to others we were very fortunate in that respect . So I guess we draw a line through it and try and best prepare for this weeks national and hope it was just one of them days and there isn’t a underlying problem as they seem well enough in themselves. A hard one to swallow I guess but sometimes you just have to hold your hands up and say we flew a stinker 🤦♂️
@@alibrospigeons8317 If others top flyers had a bad day as well you can only put it down to the weather .... try not to blame yourselves. Take the positives as you say and move on to next week. The weather looks more settled so hopefully get a nice fair race. All the best getting them prepared, what's the regime? Usual stuff?
@@AndrewKenmaredefinitely going to tinker this week Andrew as I think we would regret it if we didn’t , changing the corn first and foremost and looking for any signs that the health isn’t spot on , I want to draw a line under it but at the same time I don’t want to wait till next week to find out there is a problem mate
Hope you have got the birds back on track for the national good pigeon men good birds all the best Richy and your dad for tomorrow looks like son on the backs all the way home
D day tomorrow mate , either they come well or we maybe have to miss a week and get them tested , they look a million dollars going in the basket so all we can do is hope now mate 👍
Well they were still coming straight on at teatime , so my reading of the race is a small batch left great and the rest didn’t but who knows maybe they went round low cloud on route ?

Thanks mate

South West here near cleethorpes today 80 miles from huntingdon clouds moving rapid
Yeah they were going fast enough mate , just avoided low cloud I think mate
Hope you get go returns richy for next week mate it would definitely be devastating now to lose a load before the national

It can't be a health issue as many fanciers in the UK have reported that they've had a bad race, and a lot of birds returned very or still missing.
Let’s hope so mate 👍
Pigeon racing is a funny old game races like this is about getting them back and fighting another day
