Well I felt deflated on this video , it’s a horrible feeling when you put all the hard work in and conditions don’t give you any sort of chance . We were 1-2 club 4-6-10-12-17-20 federation So once again a great team performance and it proves we were just in a different race from the front guys and I definitely think the birds have went round bad weather hence the gap between our area and the combine winners . It’s been a tough day for returns and it’s getting warmer and warmer and we were 10 short when I left so I’m really hoping more return but they need to find water . We have two nationals left this season and I just hope we get one chance , thanks for watching
WOW gentlemen what great results in a very strange and difficult race. It only proves what an amazing team you have as well as your management 👏. Again, great video Rich, give the team a well deserved treat, and a pint or 3 for you and dad. Looking forward to next week..... what a great season your having
Thank you , I think the birds might need a brown ale in 4 weeks 🤣, there certainly trying for us . Thank you for watching and your kind words as always
Hi Richy real struggle for the birds yesterday a very tough one obviously,🤞at least most of the later ones work or are home already. Thanks for the video as always it was excellent .
Good result there today ,a tough race , the weather up where you are looks good , down here in kent we had showers on and off today ,think the birds done you proud today ,good luck with the returns mate
I live 20 miles north of Plumpton and we had intermittent drizzle till 0945 before we saw any blue. Also lot of Peregrines in that 20 miles so I'm guessing they didn't clear as a convoy.
I think your bang on Callum , we didn’t think we would get a race on the morning but either the smallest of batches left immediately or they went round bad weather on route 👍

I hope you guys get the rest of the birds back. I know it's a busy time to do videos, but it will be nice if you can publish a video of how to prepare the birds for a race start from Saturday (on their return) to Friday (when the birds are heading to the club) including how to choose which birds are prepared to be sent to the race. I don't know if this is something you'd be able to share with us to help people like me (the new starters) Thanks in advance.
I would love to do something like that but I’m not great with technology and I do it all via my iPad so because of this I don’t have a pause button where I could have different parts to the video , I’m sure it would be possible but I would need help and guidance I’m afraid 👍
We’ve been getting birds back every week mate but everyone is flown out and won’t race again this year , we got one on Saturday with the race birds off2 weeks ago and one on Wednesday unbelievably came back the same time as the birds when we had a chuck but this one with a broken leg . I think we are 2 short from last weekend but they were probably the worst 2 performers all season but the way things are going mate they do eventually come back for potentially next season 👍
Well done Richie great result but what a bad race we were 2rd club two minutes behind the winner and 6 behind the fed winner down here on Teesside and miles behind the combine winner in Middlesbrough just over river about too miles away felt like you said we were in a different race hopefully you get the rest back we are 4 missing at 7 o’clock when I left the garden good luck for next week 😮
At some stage the majority of the birds took a different route , I currently have us 6th section with only one more federation result to come in , so just another strange race Graham, I’m trying to take the positives and we also have 7 in top 20 of Fed but it’s always disappointing when you don’t top fed so strange emotions if I’m honest 🤦♂️
@@alibrospigeons8317 couldn’t agree more that feeling in your stomach is terrible after all the hard work you put in and the stress unbelievable but that’s why we love this sport 😊
Hi Richy, the weather is the main culprit currently, not too much bad weather around except this morning early I think its the heat exhaustion, driving back from the town today i saw a blue racing pigeon with two yellow rings on one presumably NEHU and the other the timer ring, on the pavement knackered, didnt take off when cars went near so I stopped and tried to pick it up but it summoned the energy to get on a nearby roof but it was definitely dehydrated. Well done for the birds that came back but im sure youll still not be happy about missing birds though, they are also part of the hard work you guys put in but todays race should not reflect badly on any of the birds to be honest if the temperature goes above a certain pre agreed level the race should be postponed and birds returned to lofts, its a very expensive hobby as we all know but also its about looking after the birds too and that should come from the homing society, weather today even up here was ridiculously hot.. KEEP BELIEVING... Sorry forgot to ask but you mention peoples names but which area did the first five birds clock ?? Just so I can understand your commentary better.. thanks guys.
Hi Stephen mate , the first call we get is from Middlesbrough so they are pretty much first drop in the combine , we usually have around 30-35 mins to beat them from the call and they are just over 30 miles in front of us . The second call we get is horden so they are right on the coast and 15 miles in front of us so pretty much bang in the middle of us and the front lads , you know the daft thing today Stephen is we beat loads of the front feds but the combine winner is doing 1420s and our fed winner is doing 1370s so 50yds a min difference which is huge , but as I’m going through the results we could be in top 10 of our section and as a team we put 6 in first 20 of section so you sometimes have to look at the bigger picture and a handful and I mean maybe 4-5 birds out of 8000 pigeons have got clear so it can only be that the rest have gone round weather and once they started coming they came well and steady but as for the missing birds I’m afraid if they don’t find water then they are now in serious trouble and a lot of that has to do with an extra day in the transporter which needs looking at going forward. Thanks for watching mate 👍
@@alibrospigeons8317 Thanks for the explanation mate, appreciated so I now know what you mean, I always look forward to the videos and the " thumbs up again from me" , you do have some very good birds in your team and I'm still listening like when your dad mentioned the first home was an offspring from the 320 hen if I heard right. Fingers crossed for the rest to come home I believe you will get more back..
I remember the feeling Richy, gut wrenching, good to get the result but you just want them back, hopefully they keep coming, obviously somethings got in there way, best of luck
A real tough one rob , it’s a strange one as there so gappy today I think we will still be right up there in the section , so I best not be to deflated , down to 7 missing now
Well done lads!! On the flip side I think your team done fantastic 31 home out of 38 sent last count, on a tough hot day like today, wow that really is well prepared birds, Thanks for sharing 😊👍

Hello Richie, that was a tuff race that from Thursday & red hot temperatures to contend with.
Hope you get all of them back.
Regards Dave
Thanks Dave , we got one about an hour ago so 3 short , you see this heat hasn’t relented so I suspected we wouldn’t see to many today mate
We've finished racing in Spain the weather is just too hot,so it makes my weekend waiting with you as you watch for the birds, thank you
Thanks John , I’m glad you enjoy the videos mate , makes it all worthwhile for us 👍

Yeah we didn’t expect to get a race as it looked dreadful down south , but it was glorious this end all day , that doesn’t happen very often does it 🤣
Great results in the end of a tough race well do. Hopefully you get the rest of your birds back and good luck for the coming races mate

38 55 minutes in this film was that a sparrow hawk flying past skimming the loft roof.
I’ve just looked and I’m not sure , I didn’t recognise it as a song bird but if it’s a hawk it’s a small one but you could be right
You cannot plan for the weather I know the feeling but like you said still have 2 nationals to come hope the missing birds turn up.
The Scottish lads lost loads of birds last week
Thanks Pat , down to 7 missing now mate
Yeah I seen mate a absolute disaster
Did your dad have birds before u guys well done on a hard race
