Bro, Do you know if kicking the cat out of the house and installing a full 4 inch exhaust on the 05 LLY will kick a check engine light? I have an 05 LLY and bought a full 4 inch drop down pipe back system and have not installed it yet out of concern for a CEL. Thank you in advance.
@Captain R. The answer to your question is no. It won't set off a CEL for the '05 if you have the FE9 code in your glovebox build tag. Just open your glovebox and look at the silver build tag in there. It's in alphabetical order so just find the "F" codes and look for FE9. If you have it, you're good to go.
@@thatoaklandfan_6.621 Which emissions version did your truck come the factory with? FE9 is the federal emissions version and should not throw a code. If your truck is a California emissions truck then yes it probably will. It may also throw a code if it's one of the oddball emissions versions. Here are the RPO codes for the different emissions versions: *NE1 is Northeast Emissions this covers NY, VT, MA, or ME *YF5 is California Emissions *VCL is a CFF (Clean Fuel Fleet) *FE9 is Federal Emissions
