Chevrolet power

I have a 2010 2SS manual coupe, and it was garage kept for years at a time. I’ve had stuff like the power steering pump and clutch master cylinder go out 2-3 times already, all OEM parts. The power steering pump issue, I figured, was mostly from drifting and hooning with the wheel locked, so I really had to adjust my driving style. That, or I would be throwing $900+ at a Lingenfelter racing power steering pump, or at least $5-600+ on a Turn One power steering pump. Crazy stuff. Aside from that, the clutch master cylinder failure absolutely blows. You end up getting stranded and having to get the car towed. If you know how to work on a car, at least you can do process of elimination and see if just the CMC alone was bad; which in my case, I’m still lucky it was just that and not my clutch slave cylinder (CSC), which is also on borrowed time. The Tremec TR-6060 is also a great transmission, but the ones pre-2012 have the non-hybrid synchronizers and blockers. Aside from that, you typically need to upgrade to stuff like brass shift fork pads, to really get the most durability out of the transmission. I figured the 2013 models were the best, if you wanted to keep the 10-13 pre-facelift body style. It comes with all the 14-15 goodies, like electric power steering, and a MyLink infotainment head unit, which has a backup camera (with optional parking sensors, I think?).

I do have it and I do like it but I think I'm about to sell it because I'm just getting annoyed with installing it in every new car I get plus I think I want Android Auto eventually. I've noticed that there are times where I'll start my car and the app doesn't open but Bluetooth still plays it's such a weird glitch but the way I make it work is randomly open the app when I'm not in the car because I guess that's sometimes what it needs after an update? I have also used an Android Auto / Apple CarPlay unit that was wired and it was so seamless and made driving so much easier and safer. Literally just plug your phone in to the unit with your charger and you have instant access to important apps on your phone on a huge screen

@@DailyDrivenProjects Thank you. That's interesting information. The app glitch would probably annoy me too. When you say the CarPlay unit had a huge screen, do you mean one of those 9" floating screens? Or something that came with the car? I ask that question because I bought an Alpine iLX-W650 with CarPlay, but I notice that my iPhone 11 (the biggest model) has a screen that is the same size as the Alpine, but the iPhone has a much sharper picture. So I started wondering, maybe I should have bought the much cheaper Pioneer that you have and just used my iPhone for my screen. Also, it's kind of cool to not have to plug/unplug every time, isn't it?

In that case, yes just get the much cheaper pioneer (was $150 a year ago), but I have a Google Pixel 5 so that standard size screen (forgot what Amazon brand but similar size to your Alpine) was quite the upgrade for me personally People say my Pixel looks like an iPod touch 🤣
