There's so much content and lore in the first 5 books alone that there could be 4 to 6 series' made on television surrounding them. GRRM was capable of giving the reader a plethora of information within merely a paragraph or simply a few sentences. It would only take a producer(s), (winking suggestively) with the imagination and talent to develop each into a brilliant show. I'm still dumfounded on how Victarion Greyjoy, Moqorro, Strong Belwas, etc. were left completely out of the series.
Even though I hated the show from season 5 on, I give HBO a bit of a break. I read that some of the actors were tired of the show and wanted to move on, so that's one thing, and the show was stupidly expensive to shoot. I was watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets the other night, and during the spider chase scene, I couldn't help but feel angry that we didn't get ice spiders the size of hounds in GoT. If they could do those spiders in 2002, HBO could have done them in 2019 😓

Had there been no Rebellion, you would have been, at best, fifth in line to that throne. In reality, by the time you were born, another conqueror had acquired it and been crowned (and you still had a brother with a stronger claim anyway). (A conqueror who, as a male Targaryen descendant and probably next in line after you, plausibly may have won another Great Council over you - the Westerosi nobility does seem determined to avoid a queen...) The idea of making a 1:1 book to show adaptation is just unreasonable, due to production costs, plot issues etc. The books are there for those seeking the true story as written by the author, the show is there to bring some of what has been written to life, which it did a great job of doing. If you love the shows, read the books. Hopefully we will get the last two written by GRRM.
I wish they would have just put in all the sub plots and kept as true to the books as possible. You could have gotten like 13 seasons out of it and just maybe at least winds would have come out. But maybe not
The downfall of an adaptation is all the cutting down of characters and subplots. For GOT, the subplots help make the story so interesting. Another case of "What if" or maybe "If Only" HBO could have passed the production on to others when Ben & Benikoff grew tired of the series.
I can’t believe some books readers still haven’t figured that the Night’s King is definitely the Night King from the show, having a the same name and marrying a white walker bride and all. He probably got banished after the first men defeated the others the first time and wants to be human again or wants revenge or something cool like that… or my theory is that he was a greenseer (maybe a stark) and saw that the others weren’t pure evil, then after the others were defeated he became one of them to lengthen his life then began his 1000 year long wait for Azor Ahai to be reborn, waiting for Jonny Snow
I'm fairly certain that George has outright said they're not the same, kinda like he outright said Benjen isn't coldhands. I think the show just stole the cool name lol
I think there will be a leader to the others hundred percent there is always a hierarchy the others will be no different but I'm not sure this leader will be called the Night's King or Night King. In my head the Night's King will be the middle man to make peace between the others and humans. The actual leader will have another name or not be given one.
He was a LC of the NW so how can he have been around for the first Long Night? I don't know for sure but I'm assuming the Wall didn't exist during the first Long Night. Regardless, he is clearly not the same. Even if he leads the Others now, that's not the show character. The show character appears to have been the first Other, created by the Children, and when he dies, they all die. That's pretty obviously far from the book lore.
@@Liverpool-Thedirtyredteam That's fair I could see the leader in the books be something separate, they could've combined the two in the show or something I guess. I just always felt like there has to be some sort of correlation between them like in some way shape or form you know? Like he's literally called the Night's King was tied to the original long night and married a white walker plus GRRM went out of his way to say he was lord commander, plus him being a greenseer would make a lot of sense narratively no? Would explain why he married the other and why the Others are hunting Jon cause they know he's Azor Ahai. Idk seems like too much lore and too similar to the show to not mean anything
@@Amaru19 I think all the Others dying when he dies is just D&D bullshit to end the story in a simple way. That's a good point about him being the first Other though cause that whole sequence felt like it was from George and it wouldn't make much sense for that to be the Night's King. But I feel like that could also just be D&D streamlining the character, I'd guess the Children created the Others in that same way except it wasn't the Night King just a random Other, then when the Night's King (who was prolly already a greenseer) became an Other he became their leader. Idk but the show character always felt too GRRMy to me like it's not just D&D making stuff up, it just makes sense for the Night's King to be the leader in the books
All the hype leading to the white walkers and season 8......no answers, no agency and no threat. That speach in house of the dragon made me laugh about the threat in the north and how easily it was beaten.

If you had asked me after season 4 how long would it take to defeat the white walkers after they breached the wall I would have said at least half a ten episode season. Didn’t realize it would be 1/6th of a 6 episode season
9:17 damn that art with bloodraven and bran looks so cool!
9:05 « never forget the war elephants »
Cersei: can’t agree more
To think Beyond Netero visited Westeros in his free time, this verse must be insane.
And he will visit again. No matter how long it takes.
These are 3 that you missed out.
Bran the builder: he built the Wall, Winterfell, Ruinestone (possibly), Storm's End and Old Town using technology from 8000 years ago and all within his lifetime.
Blood raven: possibly the greatest spy master in all of history. He ruled the shadows of Kings Landing with an iron fist of tyranny and was the biggest reason why Daeron won his war against the Blackfyres. Now since he has honed his Greensight over decades, he has become almost omniscient.
Aegon the Conquerer: need I say more.
Bran the builder is probably multiple lords put toghether as one, dude couldn't have built in all the continent such massive thing and some timeline doesn't fit for him being only one guy
@@zzaronn, the same is probably true for other legends like Garth Greenhand, Lann the Clever, Florys the Fox, etc.
Aegon is so lame lol. His sisters on the other hand…
Why the hell are Ser Pounce and Patchface not on this list?
We all know the most OP character for the show is Mace Tyrell. He has been able to hide his true nature as the real Machiavellian Villain.
Was that Beyond Netero @1:59 !?
I wonder which will get finished first 🤔 the succession/Dark Continent Arc or the Winds of Winter??
Neither 😭
@@barakovdlich6203 you might be right 😖
I do think we'll eventually get Winds, but 'A Dream of Spring' is just that, a dream. And seeing as Togashi recently released a generic ending for Hunter Hunter ...just in case... the conclusion of that series seems highly doubtful, as well 😭
2:00 Uhh, what does "Beyond Netero" from HxH have to do with GOT?
at 2:00 they really tried to sneak Beyond Netero past us
honestly, if this channel started making HxH manga/lore stuff I'd be so psyched
I feel like euron is going to pull down the hightower with a massive kraken which he summons and controlls with blood magic powered by a huge sacrifice of iron born and old Town soldiers. (This isn't my original idea, I got it from a fanfiction called dragons of ice and fire on ao3)
I’m writing an alt season 8 fanfic where he ferries the white walkers around the wall (which can’t be destroyed by them without the horn of winter)
Can you do a video about characters that are physically weaker in the books?. A character that comes to mind is Jon Snow, because in the show he's portrayed as a master swordsman but in the books he is only an average swordsman.
And Jon, Ned, Jaime etc are on the smaller side..
Jon was trained by a master at arms, which makes his martial education superior to at least 99% of the Nights Watch, who have a lowborn background.
@@helenrose5383 jon and ned are weaker in books. But come on show did jaime dirty. The show tried to portray him as someone who isnt as good as he thinks he is, while in the books he is every bit as great a swordsman as people think he is.
Also bronn is a character thats weaker in books, show literally made him invincible with infinite plot armour
@@arul7467 Yup Jaime's reputation/ brilliance is not translated well, while Bronn was made into a greater character than he was in the books or than he needed to be!
I did not expect to see Beyond Netero in the vid
Fantastic video as always man!
2:00 lol whyd you show beyond Netero?! That’s a random but interesting Easter egg I doubt GOT fans would know who that goat is
I thought I was tripping for a second when I saw Beyond Neteros face for a second lol
i stumble upon your channel and i love it keep it going
The random Beyond Netero was odd lol. I though I accidentally unpaused the wrong video.
Keep Up The Awesome Work !!
I love how soft your voice is in these videos
Euron Greyjoy definitely, he is a god in the books and would've brought the apocalypse to the world.
We will never know. George RR Martin is never gonna finish the series.

I really think it’s so weird how little Valyrian steel armor there is
The picture of beyond was unexpected

"when they do invade in the books"
ooo you sweet summer child you still think there will be another book
Karl Urban with a full beard and eye patch would be a perfect Euron Greyjoy
Nah Mads Mickelsen would've been a perfect choice for euron
I feel like an anime or even manga adaptation of GoT/ASOIF would be amazing. Maybe the same western studio that did work on the Castlevania anime would work out great. The Japanese style & (weeb) tendencies thrown in might mess with the feel of ASOIF too much.
Game of thrones with castlevaina art design would be 🤌🤌🤌
I think they are coming out with an anime game of thrones based in the ashai area
>china< type area
Was about those realistic 3d animation? Like love death + robots ‘the secret war’ episode?
I think Game of Thrones is too gritty and realistic to work in anime form. I think Malaz could work too; it has the darkness of Game of Thrones but is also over the top in a cool way typical of anime.
@@nicolaemadalinboboc6704 I slightly agree with you, but I feel its possible, they just couldn't not make any cute moments, funny moments, but no real cute moment
Why there are no children of the forests. They literally destroy arm of dorne.
Because they were in the show.
This list is for powerful ppl left out of the show
@@REDACTED9494 Euron Greyjoy was in the show too
@@REDACTED9494 children destroying leg of dorne is mentioned only in books.
@@keyurborad0076 There power has been waning for millenia, even (relatively) shortly after breaking the Arm of Dorne they were unsuccessful in breaking Westeros, merely creating swamps in what is called the Neck.
i am genuenly considering reading the books just for euron right now
Euron perfect casting: Mads Mikkelson
Idk man I think one if they didn’t butcher him his casting was pretty alright and Tom harsh
I meant Hardy
I was born to rule the seven kingdoms and I will.

My Queen❤️ All Hail Queen Daenerys, Long May She Reign!
I think it is about time someone explained this to you:
No, your eldest brother (and his son, your nephew) was born to rule. Had there been no Rebellion, you would have been, at best, fifth in line to that throne. In reality, by the time you were born, another conqueror had acquired it and been crowned (and you still had a brother with a stronger claim anyway). (A conqueror who, as a male Targaryen descendant and probably next in line after you, plausibly may have won another Great Council over you - the Westerosi nobility does seem determined to avoid a queen...) Admit it, you were as born to rule as the previous Daenerys.
Aegon vi will take his throne. Ur fight is with the others
@@edwinsoto6932 someone with a brain should explain to u now .jon is a bastard and raegar was never king .it goes to king's children .reagar was married to elia martell with 2 kids .why do u think he did a secret marriage with lyanna ? cuz it was fake he fooled lyanna .
Beyond netero reference.... fantastic
2:03 shout out to Beyond Netero.
You should do an HXH video!
See Pounce deserves mention. Ferocious.
Hot pie is too powerful for this list
I’m surprised you left out vic and his red fire eight hulk hand
This is unrelated but I was watching GOT final ep. The Iron Throne - and at 3:14 Tyrion looks to his side and sees a soldier in all black covering his face. Then I was thinking of Sandor's eyes that were gouged by his brother before they fell... What if he surviver the fall.
Euron makes Jofferey and Bolton's bastard Ramsey look tame.
his black Valyrian armour and dragon horn are just the tip of the iceberg, he is just a menace through and through.
I love this channel
Excellent work! Literally made my day!!
ah, can you imagine Bran becoming like that skin changer having awesome animals following him around and probably using all kinds of animals in the fight against the undead? now that would have been awesome and made bran actually usefull.
love to see beyond netero making a cameo
Others also do Not Break snow so that might mean they can dematerealise
Dragon Horns sound like massive ex machinas, I see why it's important (and would honestly probably be better than how Rhegal died) kinda glad it got cut.
I peep the hunter x hunter beyond netero reference
young kurt russel would have been a great euron
Why was Beyond Netero sown lol
*shown
nice to unexpectedly see som hxh in your vid
Never expected a HxH slide all of a sudden.
By the end of the books the skinchanging in the remaining stark kids will be so important bran rickon and jon will be able to control multiple animals at once by the dream of spring book i think rickon will do something heroic and stupid and sacrifice himself to save someone maybe bran jon or osha
Lol I thought for a second you were gonna talk about Beyond Netero being too powerful for GoT
Why is the corspe queen a white walker and not more similar to Lady Stoneheart ?
A bit off topic, but is there a likelyhood that HBO might make a season 9 to fix the mistakes of S8? I mean Dexter got another season to fix it's ending.
No.
No
Not a chance.
I hated the dexter ending. Original run .
Hopefully no
I remember when I was young to I used to think that I was right about absolutely everything I thought until I got older and then look back and realize how purely ignorant I was it is absolutely embarrassing I wish I could spare people I know that are growing up from doing that but just like I was when I was younger it's hard to get through to a thick-skulled young person that feels like they know everything and refuse to be corrected maybe you're not that way and you won't just see me as some idiot running off at the mouth maybe I'm trying to help you a little bit save you some embarrassment
I think he’s doing an amazing job! You don’t think so?
hoping there will be an animated version of this..
Where mace tyrell?
I'd love to see an anime fan fiction about deep dive game of thrones
why the fuck was there a picture of beyond netero out of nowhere lol
The idea of making a 1:1 book to show adaptation is just unreasonable, due to production costs, plot issues etc. The books are there for those seeking the true story as written by the author, the show is there to bring some of what has been written to life, which it did a great job of doing. If you love the shows, read the books. Hopefully we will get the last two written by GRRM.
Where’s Hot Pie?
The fact that lommy isn’t in this video is absurd

Euron needs to be a big great villain. They hyped him in the first book.
Theres so much that would look great on tv
I wish they would have just put in all the sub plots and kept as true to the books as possible. You could have gotten like 13 seasons out of it and just maybe at least winds would have come out. But maybe not
1) Macumber
A daggerfall type of rpg game but got would be amazing
The downfall of an adaptation is all the cutting down of characters and subplots. For GOT, the subplots help make the story so interesting. Another case of "What if" or maybe "If Only" HBO could have passed the production on to others when Ben & Benikoff grew tired of the series.
House of the dragon is shaping up nocely
King Stannis the Mannis! Too powerful for D and D.
Wait all the starks are wargs ?
How come Melisandre is not part of this group? Compared to the books, the show did not even show enough of her powers
Did anyone else notice beyond netero lmfao
All the hype leading to the white walkers and season 8......no answers, no agency and no threat. That speach in house of the dragon made me laugh about the threat in the north and how easily it was beaten.
Bran made absolutely zero sense in the show. He was basically my dad telling me what I F’ed up after it’s already been done.
