These guys just scorched the shit out of everyone in the 90's. Everyone is always blowing Cobain and Nirvana; Billy and the Pumpkins is where it was at. And he's still making great records, but unfortunately, no one cares, as rock n' roll had a brief resurgence in the 90's and ever since then it's been dead.
It's not that it's been dead; nothing he's made recently has even come close to Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. SP's everchanging line-up messes with that dynamic that they had in the 90's.
