Programming is interesting and I would like to do it, however, I want to be focused on the security side of things more. Would Cyber Surety be a good choice? I'm curious what Cyber Surety is like in the Air Force.
Dope video bro! I did my asvab and passed my medical at MEPs! I got Fire Protection, Boom operator, engineer, HVAC, electrical systems, and admin! I’m leaning towards Fire Protection you know anybody with that mos?
I don't unfortunately, ive met like one person with that afsc but I don't know them. Good job getting through all that other stuff though, hope you get the job you want! Good Luck!
My degree is in English with emphases in Modern Lit and Creative Writing. Now at 23, I'm trying to reroute my career into the tech side. I've been taking pre-requisites for computer science grad programs. I want to join the USAF or USN to gain experience in software development or DevOps. (I get that they will provide job choices base on my exam score.) Upon watching this video, I'm leaning more toward getting enlisted over becoming an officer because I want hands-on experience and perhaps the ability to have different jobs.
Can you please make a video covering the 3d0x4 career field more in depth and clearly. I was thinking about joining in that career field but there isn't any information online. Thanks
Could you do a video about space force. I heard they are taking some air force jobs and making them into the space force branch. I may be wrong but hopefully you know a lot more.
Hey man I'm in the airforce now. Going to be retraining. Wanted to get your thoughts. 1B4 is my first pick. But my other 2 are programming and cyber ops. What would you put as your 2 and 3. I'm afraid if I get programming I won't get to program just sign paper work for civilians. Sorry for the long comment
How is 3D0x2 different than 1b4x1? Do you have to pass Sec+ and EDPT for 3D0x2? In your other video, you mentioned that the 3Dxxx job can be different from base to base, do you work on automation tools - Jenkins, Chef/Puppet etc?
Hey Jonathan! Since your previous job doesn’t exist anymore is there anything you recommend getting prior to Joining now for your new job? For instance, before you recommended to get security + to be a cyber security operations. Now that that job is gone, if I wanted to be in that new job that you have too, what should I get prior to joining? To make the tech school easier. Thanks man!
3d0x2 isn’t gone! The changes to career fields wont be for a while, it’ll come quick but its not right now. The reason I’m doing a different job is because they needed some help elsewhere and they picked me for the job. I still recommend sec+ because thats what is currently a requirement to graduate tech school. Also thanks for watching and yeah 5k subs is incredible haha
Hello, I was actually trying to become a web developer before now trying to join the Air Force. I know Html, CSS, JavaScript, React, and briefly familiar with python. I am wondering what language would be best as what you mentioned I only heard C# as Bash and power shell aren’t programming languages. I have heard something about Ada language not sure if that is actually used in the military as that’s what google says but also wondering how the transition into civilian is as military programmer, as you said you are doing automation, wondering if it is like machine learning, data science, web development or what they usually transition into after being a programmer in the military usually. Also Thanks for the video as I am having a hard time finding information on this.
what degree are you working towards as a 3d032 i’m joining as the same job you joined as and trying to find the best degree to work towards for civilian job and what jobs i would be doing when i’m done
Did you have to take the edpt test before getting your computer job? And also do you havw to know a lot of math for tech school or your the job itself everyday?
EDPT is only for programmers I did not take it, I've heard it can be difficult but that its doable. Only math was for subnetting and I do zero math everyday.
I cant make that decision for you! How would I know what you want to do lol. Cyber ops is server administration, programming is well, programming. They are 2 very different jobs, both can pay very well in the outside if you apply yourself and if thats something you want to do in the outside.
@@Sk8Gnarley yeah i really want to do 1b4x1 but have to cross train into that. Wasnt sure if one area would be a better choice to cross train over than the other.

Jonathan Sullivan so true. Please shed light on the cyber jobs part of the Air Force. Does It translate well into to the civilian side of things? How can I get a job in this field etc
@@Sk8Gnarley ah np, I'm sure I'll have to take it when I go to meps so hopefully I can score high enough for programming. Scored an 83 on asvab (M47, A96, G64 E79). @@Sk8Gnarley Yea I wish I knew what went on behind the scenes so that I can know exactly what to expect. OneRealAssNiggaa my son scored an 83 on the ASVAP with a very similar breakout. He took and passed to EDPT before swearing in. He ended up getting programming and ships next month. He said the test was not that difficult, just answer easy questions first and then go back and work the harder ones.
