Robert Lustig carried on from him.

Having said that ,I think its foolhardy to overlook the legitimate association between hyper-cholesterolemia and a significant increased risk of cardio-vascular disease ... (particularly in a context of the ever increasingly prevalent metabolic syndrome , for example ).Dave Feldman actually goes to extraordinary lenghts to stress that lmhr's ldl amounts only infer that we need to research and learn more about 'excess' ldl health affects , as opposed to assuming that such elevated ldl amounts don't contribute to cvd , especially in the long term. Its not so simple as to say elevated ldl is necessarily bad for us , but , its also incorrect to say that elevated ldl isn't necessarily bad for us .ldl is just one important bio-marker for cvd health and we need to learn more from research .The lmhr phenotype may be one possible way to learn what we need to know.

My total cholesterol was around 242, after I had just started losing weight on LCHF, primarily carnivore, diet and the medical professional I saw wanted me to take statins. I flat out told her "NO". I explained why and because my dad died at 39 of a heart attack she wanted me to take them at 49. I told her they would come down on their own within a short while and she kept pressing. Within 3 months I was under 200 again. Shortly after the visit she emailed and strongly encouraged me to ignore my doctor's dietary advice, the one who put me on a high fat diet, and to follow her eating plan which included lots of carbs... included in that email was a stern warning that I needed to take statins, so I fired her.

But I brushed my teeth and my gums didnt bleed! Wtf???? They have bled EVERY time I brush my teeth for FIFTY BLOODY YEARS!!! I really just can’t believe this. My dentist couldn’t help me, my healthy low fat, high fibre, low meat diet sure didn’t help me. It’s only been a week! this is crazy, I just brushed the hell out of my teeth and literally couldn’t make them bleed! Thanx for listening my new carnivore family, I’m beyond thrilled Doc. My last labs (April '24) came back with "elevated LDL" of 109 still down a few points from last year. BUT, the big thing was 3 years ago, I had a CAC (calcium plaque) score which came back at 287 and had a new scan and it is now, three years later... 101! If high LDL were truly bad, how is my CAC drastically reducing? Even my doctor commented he's never seen a patient reduce their CAC.

They do as the CDC, AMA, etc. tell them to do, they are no longer critical thinkers or independently minded.

Is it possible that, with your carnivore lifestyle, you could have healed enough or could eventually heal enough to have those stints taken out? The human body is miraculously self-healing when it is given the proper nutrition, which you are now getting. I'm no expert, but I think it's worth being tested/scanned to see what the condition is of the area where the stints are. You might be pleasantly surprised. The only downside is that you would have to go back into surgery in order to get the stints removed.

I started carnivore lifestyle in Jan 24 after 4 yrs of Keto. Lost 4.5 stones on keto. 1st month was good on carnivore, but since then I’ve been either been oxalate dumping or histamine intolerant don’t know which. I’ve been tired and sore (I also have osteoarthritis in my spine and fibromyalgia). Have stopped the 8 tramadol and 8 paracetamol I took every day for 10 yrs. but still don’t have energy. Maybe a female age 65 that is normal. I will keep going though. Is blood ketone reading 3.5 ok? Keep up the good work Dr Chaffee. Love from Perthshire in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Takes time to heal, depending on how bad off you were to start. Make sure you get an electrolyte drink in each day that is high in potassium.
With healing and clearing of things like oxalates the body burns through minerals and your bones are probably nutrient deficient in them to start with. Mine were very deficient starting out, only after over a year and half do I now don't really need an electrolyte drink but maybe once a week.

Increase your fat intake butter tallow or lard, I have oxalate poisoning even spices make me ill. Aged beef can cause a histamine reaction, grass fed and finished beef does not for me, electrolytes are very helpful, I am in my second year eating the carnivore ketogenic way. Women have a tendency to not eat enough, steak and butter gal covers this well and Dr Elizabeth Bright, taking Lugols 2% solution is important.

Nothing is going to stop me doing this , but if you get tired while the oxalates are bending flushed , that fine as long as it’s that my pain is bearable now , I’ve had constant pain in my body since 1983 when I had back surgery. Which triggered the fibromyalgia. Sometimes now I have a day when I’m good, I’ll take that. I’m not doing this to lose weight , although I will lose the last 2 stone eventually. I’m 37 but have an extensive medical history since I was 13yrs old being diagnosed with Lupus, had about 2-3 seizures at my 20’s a clot in my left leg, was on dialysis for 6yrs then got a kidney transplant in 2012. My doctors at Rush University have been saying I had high cholesterol focusing mainly on my LDL. I had what seemed to be a heart attack in 7/2023. They recommended me to get a stent placed on the middle artery of my heart, where a 99% blockage was at or open heart surgery.
I got the stent placed all good after, then recently on May 2nd through a stress test I failed they saw another blockage above that same stent smh! Had to get that area unclogged and another stent placed!
They said it could be inflammation, the previous high cholesterol because of that plaque build up or missing from time to time my blood thinner or Brilinta. I know I probably made a huge mistake by even getting the stents placed idk 😣 but I wanted to know what do you suggest for me to do as to better my overall heart and artery’s?! I’m eating heart healthy meals btw and grass fed meats from here on out!

My total chloresterol flucuates between 250 and up to 295. LDL is usually in upper lab range. That should be better by next lab tests. Ratios are good though. Is 295 too high? PCP won't order the LDL particle test.

When you think about it. Our immune system is constantly repairing cells damaged by ROS and cholesterol is needed in every cell. To simplify it. bad diet equals excess free radicals. So its constantly battling with inflamation. My mum got put on statins last year and She has had the worst bout of flu/covid in the last few weeks. Getting worse even after 2 weeks. She never had it this bad before. I told her to come of her statins and increase her fat consumption. The other day she told me her chest felt clear for first time after she started eating bacon and egg for breakfast. Still coughing but on the mend. Even though there are plenty of BS studies claiming statins boost our immune system. crazy eh. How about all the old that died during the pandemic, most will have been on statins. One way to get rid of the old. Lower there immune system by decreasing cholesterol and give them all statins, but i'm sure many other medications impair the immune system too. Its obvious the inflamation is causing the bad LDL.

Don't pay attention to your doctors!!! Carnivore is the best diet out there. You don't need to be worried about high cholesterol!!! Maybe find a low carb doctor who can help you. ❤

My husband is really struggling transitioning to a carnivore diet. He says he feels awful. I feel really good. I had some adaptation systems, but I'm starting to feel great. He grazes a lot and says he always feels hungry, then has diarrhea, isn't sleeping well, etc. Any advice?

Lower carbs in steps, may be not all in one step. Keep electrolytes up, make sure he gets enough salt. A salty broth might help.

Vitamin D supplement. Both of you should take 8,000-10,000 IU per day. It's necessary for so many different body functions, and most people are way deficient in it. It's amazing how much better it can make you feel. All the good stuff you're putting in your body won't have to wait for your metabolism to adjust and can get right to work.
Also, electrolytes. A basic, unflavored supplement for the first month or two. When I started carnivore, I used to get bad foot cramps. I took electrolytes for a few months and just never bought more.
btw, grazing is a deficiency indicator, your body knows what it needs but can't voice that for you. sometimes a glass of lightly salted cold water cures that

Not everyone can easily go cold Turkey. Start lowering carbs. Maybe use milk or fresh fruit to stave off carb cravings. My transitioning process was slow. Can Supplement with electrolytes to help the keto flu. Diarrhea is often just a part of fat adaptation.
