  • In my recent debate on Cholesterol with ACNEM, I made the case that we have completely gotten it wrong about cholesterol causing heart disease, as did my two colleagues, both cardiologists, Dr Aseem Malhotra and Dr Ross Walker. We won by 86% of the vote. In this talk I go through my arguments against cholesterol causing heart disease, and show the hard evidence to support my case. References are provided below to many of the studies mentioned, the others can be looked up by name and author given in the talk. Enjoy!

Thanks for all your information. Now I am more calm . My blood test was total cholesterol 326
      Bad cholesterol 237
      Good cholesterol 76.
Dr want me to take statins. I said no I want to trying lower it with my diet.
She said I will see you in 3 months if you didn't lower your cholesterol I will give you medicine.
The weird thing is my A1C 5.3 that's fine. No High blood pressure. I said weird because if you're glucose is high and blood pressure you're more likely to have a heart attack.
So now that I watch your video it makes more sense to me.
I already bought a supplement to lower my cholesterol but I am not going to take it.
Next time I am going to see my Dr I will ask for a CAC test or a lipid test.

I became diabetic 15 years ago and I was an individual that should not have any illness. I decided to try keto. My labs all normalized and any trace of diabetes gone. AC1 6.0. I'm just trying to figure it all out with so many opposing views. If you have thyroid disease, I'm learning that that alone can push your numbers up and thats just through my own experience. I think stress also played a role.

Yet my diabetes and weight got progressively worse. Beginning of 2022 I started ketogenic diet. Didn't lose much weight so I went ketovore & stopped most vegetables and fruit. I've been keto / carnivore for nearly a decade. I've just recently switched to strict carnivore. I had some issues happening so I got some blood work done on my own, everything perfect, except my cholesterol. My cholesterol has been in the 250s-380s for a long time as well with an LDLc HDL ratio always in the 8-12 range. People always told me my heart was going to "explode" if I didn't lower my cholesterol. I set up an appointment to get a coronary calcium score. The doctor almost refused and immediately wanted to put me on statins. I asked why would I need to be on statins to lower my cholesterol if the high cholesterol wasn't causing any damage? He said that doesn't happen and I needed the statins. I insisted that since my cholesterol has been high for a long time, I needed to know how much blockage there was before getting on statins. I had a hunch it was low. So he orders the CT and I go get it done.
I understand I'm an N=1 and this is anecdotal, but my calcium score was zero in every area. I have zero blockage or build up. There's not even begun to be any blockage or build up. I'm in the top 5% of men my age (45) meaning 95% of men my age have a higher calcium score > more blockage.

I’ve been doing Carnivore for two months after stalling out on keto. I was finding I was still having blood sugar issues on keto. After two months the change is noticeable! I’m not doing this for weight, but I have noticed I’m developing a six pack, and as a mom of two, I’m loving it! They just tell you that’s not possible because you’re a woman! Well, I don’t have a gym membership and I’m still seeing it. I’m sure that’s all the protein. My bones feel stronger, my colon is fine (even better than I anticipated), I’ve gained muscle but lost weight, I sleep better, my moods are more stable...
I am working on a naturopathic doctoral degree and now I want my focus to be the Carnivore Diet. I think everyone should try it for 30 days. I will not go back!

I did it for 2 weeks and lost 10 pounds, but it was beyond horrible, for me, to only eat meat. My body completely rejected the idea of only ever eating meat. Anyone who can eat this way...incredible! My diet is whatever I want, but no overeating, low sugar, and only water, to drink. I mostly eat some dairy, apples, a few veggies, zero greens lol, lots of eggs, chicken, brown rice, potatoes, dark chocolate is my only treat, and the occasional indulgence of spaggetti/mac n cheese. A few other things, but I mostly try to keep it simple. I am 60 years old and in perfect health. What one eats is very personal, and if it works...great!

After watching your videos I've started the zero carb, full carnivore diet. I've had some ongoing problems with health but my main reason is that my gran grandmother and her daughter and her daughter (which was my mother) all had and died from breast cancer and whole my life I'm trying to exercise and eat healthy. So the problem with my health started with the job that I currently work (which is highly physically heavy and demanding) where my colleges constantly was trying to convince me that eating a lot of meat is bad for me, even though i was raised eating a lot of meat and was always very lean and strong as child, but now living with my husband and being long hours with my colleagues stared to eat less and less protein thinking that "maybe" is not that good and I gained 33 pounds in few years and a lot of health issues. Now only one month in carnivore I drop down 17.6 pounds and feeling almost back to my old self.
Thank you for sharing the knowledge! 🙏🏻

I’ve heard this cholesterol message so often now but it never fails to amaze me that doctors are still pushing statins on so many people. I was put on statins 4 years ago but couldn’t tolerate them so came off them after 6 months, despite my GP trying to put me on another type. Now with all I’ve learnt from Dr Aseem Malhotra (consultant cardiologist in UK) & others, I would never go near them again & as I’m now 64 I know that higher LDL is actually protective. I no longer eat “low fat” anything, have massively reduced processed food, never touch seed oils, do intermittent fasting and have dropped over a stone, so am no longer overweight. Big Food & Big Pharma aren’t interested in healthy populations as there’s no money in good health but something needs to change as healthcare systems around the world are buckling under the strain of largely preventable diseases.

The U.S. is still rated #1, (I may be wrong)with respect to “emergency care” services, in the world, but this is sure to change. Apparently, rural, regional hospitals are facing funding/financial problems, across the nation. Many hospitals are being forced to close their doors, as a result of the illegal immigration overburdening such facilities. This is part of the bipartisan NWO “replacement theory” agenda/strategy implemented to usurp our country.

Then doctor said cholesterol too high (but triglycerides, etc were perfect), MUST take statin immediately and stop eating meat and add good carbs.
I tried the advice (except the meds) and in a few weeks, my blood glucose went to pre diabetic range again.

I ate what was deemed “healthy” and not the Standard American Diet - tons of fresh fruits, fruit and vegetable juices, vegetables, rice, milk, potatoes, whole wheat bread, very little red meat, fish & grapeseed oil for cooking. I do have a very big appetite but I eat mostly real food. I even did a juice fast, fruit feast and vegetables only for some weeks. It was a big shock to me to be diabetic. Turns out that these carbohydrates whether real food or not turn to sugar. Natural sugar in fruits is still sugar - not good! Now I know better. I’m pretty sure the Carnivore diet will again fix my health.
You know, when I went back to the doctor after 4 months and my A1C became normal (due to Carnivore), she didn’t even bother to test again for fatty liver and gallstones. Basically saying, you don’t have them anymore.

I feel like I’ve gone down the rabbit hole. I started carnivore nonchalantly, in Jan of this year at the recommendation of a few family members. Almost immediately, I started gaining weight…. So I began researching. Reading, watching, listening….. to everything, trying to figure out why I wasn’t losing! As a result, the more I learned, the more strict my diet became. I started initially, thinking it would be nice to lose a few lbs … and I didn’t have much to lose! But now, I’m 13lbs heavier (which I don’t love, I’ll be honest), but I literally couldn’t care less. With respect, I have known people who are remarkably "fit", but that, in and of itself did not wholly translate to "healthy". In fact, my 35 y/o personal trainer died from cancer, as did my friend's gym buddy who was a total stud. I also lost a friend to cancer who was vegetarian and who also happened to be a runner for many years.
While I am a big proponent of healthy diet and lifestyle, I must beg the question:
How the heck did someone like Charles Manson live so long when we know for a fact that his mother had an extremely poor diet and lifestyle, therefore NOT a particularly good start for Charlie, AND, we also know that prison food (and hospital food😜) is about the worst stuff you can eat. Furthermore, Manson spent most of his life incarcerated (~53 yrs), which likely meant not so much sun, fresh air, healthy relationships, etc. Scientific marvel? Genetics? Idk.

@@karenf9137 I’d say lifespan and health span aren’t synonymous. Also, someone being a runner hardly qualifies them as either fit, or as you mentioned, healthy for that matter.
What is your definition of fitness? If you subscribe to CrossFit’s train of thought for ‘fitness’, it falls along a spectrum from sickness on the left > wellness in the middle > fitness on the right.
They link metabolic flexibility, increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains, and anti-fragility within the same family. Runners and personal trainers do not inherently fall in line with this necessarily.

I am so relieved to hear you say all this. I just turned 65 20 feb. I have been lifting for over 40 years, and see you do as well. Mr Dr. two years ago perscibed, perindopril ( 8 mg ) , anti-depressants, and a statin. His remarks at the end of the appiontment, were......" you will be on these for the rest of your life" I have never taken the statins, took myself off the anti-deprresants June 2021, and off perindopril two weeks ago. I have cuff at home my reading this morning before food was, 128/65 pulse 61 I'm 5' 10' at 226 lbs. My wiegh was at 260 lbs I started the carnivore Monday this week with no fear, high hopes for great results. I liked and subscibed to your channel is so comforting to hear your voice of logic and reason. Thank you so much. Bruce from Canada.

My doctors and practice nurse were annoyed with me for changing my diet to zero carbs a couple of years ago, stating that I should stop what I was doing as it was dangerous. They were blind to the fact that that was exactly how I lost 98 lb in weight (severely obese to ideal BMI) and reversed T2D, NAFLD and hypertension!!! My nurse tried to make me have a statin again because my “cholesterol” (cholesterol-carrying lipoproteins) levels were “too high”. I refused as I know the standard thinking on the subject is all completely backwards on downright wrong. I can no longer trust anything my doctor tells me and have to do my own research before I decide whether or not to accept their advice.

Strange how Cholesterol goes up in vegetarian diets ...also Keto ... my heart attack was 10 years ago and for at least 9 years i have had high cholesterol
which in my opinion must be required because it stays almost the same each year ... i wont take a Statin period ... thats because they are toxic .
So far i take a number of natural things like krill oil ... Gly Nac .. Nattokinase .. Taurine .. Creatine ..Vitamin D and K2 ..Magnesium .. i lost a lot of aches
and pains (age69) as i used to be a gardener for 13 years ..i still do hard work in my own garden .....i turned down a quadruple by pass in 2014 also .

Dr. Chaffee you look amazing! You look strong, youthful, and radiant with energy. This is what we want!
I am so glad to find your UA-cam Channel! I am always a heavy meat eater, with plant food as side dish. I was always concerned with my meat heavy diet, thinking it is not healthy based on what we heard so far. I even tried plant based diet briefly and my body did not like it.
Now, after watching all your videos, I feel so liberated! I am always healthy, strong, and people think I look younger than my age. My diet has been working for me, now it is also proved by you and a lot of healthy carnivores out there.
I think other than avoiding sugar and processed food, people should be open minded and just listen to our body, eat what make us feel good. Everyone is different, we shouldn’t be boxed into just one diet. I believe some people will thrive on plant based diet, but there are also people who would do better on meat, probably most of us!
Keep up the good work and I hope more people will find your Chanel!

I went off the medication for a year and felt great but when I started taking it again my anxiety returned. Have been off for several month and on a keto diet. Was glad to hear you say it.

My entire family has been "diagnosed" with high cholesterol and prescribed various statins. The "doctors" claim its genetic and a liver disorder. I shared this with all so we can make more informed decisions in regard to this. The fraudulent claims by paid researchers is beyond despicable. I applaud you for seeking and speaking truth.

Cutting out alcohol has been a life changer in so many ways. I am glad you mention it. I am amazed how many doctors never even mention alcohol or suggest one stop drinking. Depression, anxiety, inflammation, blood sugar, etc are usually a alcohol problem. I encourage everyone to stop drinking for one month and see for yourself. If you are a regular drinker you are in for rude awakening about alcohol’s negative effects on just about everything in your life.

Although it has been decades since I have had a medical exam I would tend to believe any doctor who looks as healthy as this one and lives the lifestyle he recommends. Also great you brought up how even as smoking has been reduced heart disease has increased due to the bad advice to cut fat and increase sugar.

Thank you so much for all the work that you do and I really appreciate your mission to put the allopathic chronic symptom treating doctors out of work. Awesome. I've been told by my regular M.D's that I must lower my cholesterol especially after menopause. It's high, but up into the 230s to 250s, but I was told by my functional M.D. Dr. Nuenshwander that it's the the precursor to making hormones and that it will go up especially after menopause. Can you please do a video on menopause and carnivore if you have any information. I still suffer with some pretty strong symptoms, but I have probably only been eating about 70 % clean, and only meat and fat for about 2 weeks now. I sure hope this puts some muscle on me, I still look decent for 57, but I really can see the muscle disappearing every year now. Thank you.
