Performance pages (preset and global) are awesome! Yes, the Fractal units have what is an admittedly overwhelming number of parameters that can be tweaked. While almost everything can be tweaked on the hardware unit itself, it would require an almost impossible level of knowledge to QUICKLY adjust something on the fly at a gig. Enter performance pages. You can MAP virtually any parameter to one of the five physical knobs on the unit. My personal favorites are the amp master volume and the output level but you could also map things like reverb mix, delay time, etc. You have ten parameters you can map that apply GLOBALLY to every preset, and ten PER PRESET. To access, hit the right "pages" arrow two times and boom! there they are.
Im really glad you got a FM3 ....this is a unit on my radar. Love boss units as a unit but its in dire need of decent realistic sounding gain amps. My Helix is incredible btw....but you are the best at getting great diverse tones out of units already especially on the boss stuff....now you will be able to tell us if Fractal is actually a step above like we all read abd hear people say 💯
FM3 is BETTER than they say. EVERYBODY (rightfully) talks glowingly about the effects and amp models, but the secret weapon is the foot switch management. To call it next level would be underselling it. I can EASILY get through a gig using only TWO of the three switches. It's ingenious.
To me ToneX and FM3 are both keepers. ToneX is undoubtedly the best to have a huge collection of great amps but fm3 also offer nice ones, you just have to learn to tweek deeply. Effects are great.
Loving the outfit 🎸
Enjoy and Happy New Year!🔥
Thanks!!! Happy new year :)
