The holosun is perhaps on the one laser on the IR night vision market where you get what you pay for. Featuring 3 lasers at the cheapest price point, while having functional illum, comparable to the "industry leaders" such as civ I2/A3s and ATIPALs.

I love a laser that doesn't break under the weight of it's own brand name as soon as you take it out of the box.
Have you seen this company, zbolt? Out of happy valley Oregon. Theyve got some interesting laser, lights and illuminators. Supposed to be at shot this year. Competitive pricing and American made I guess.
@@adamdyment9732 yeah I'm gonna go say hi to them at SHOT show and touch all their stuff.
@@Hoplopfheil sweet. We're gonna try and have then do a demo at our range here before they bail to Tennessee.
@@adamdyment9732 been waiting to see what they come up with.
Why can't holosun just make their ir illuminators just a bit brighter?
Mine has been solid; big pro-no battery drain
That’s hilarious that holosun figured out how to not have battery drain and be Meyers cannot
“The aiming laser market is a mess and is ripe for revolution” nail on the head. I don’t care for any FDA laser based illuminators, 0.7mw just isn’t enough ass for an illuminator. NOTHING in the civilian market is “perfect”. The MAWL is the closest thing to perfect, but it’s favorable qualities die quickly due to its unrealistic price tag. At the end of the day, it’s two lasers and an IR flashlight for $3,000+. I have settled with a Perst 3 and a DBAL D2. Both perform very well and together cost less than one MAWL.
Great video sir
I had high hopes for the Phantom Hill CTF-1 but it really missed the mark IMO. Z-Bolt is supposedly coming out with some decent stuff soon.
it's really depressing when you look at the price tag of the VCEL emitters... Companies just don't care *that* much it seems.
If you have a laser only unit you may want to try pairing it with this full power unit. ua-cam.com/video/ARut4-Ewqxw/v-deo.html Can be had on amazon and can use an adapter to fit a surefire tailcap.
Dude that opener was sick! This is such an underrated channel. I can tell time and and effort goes into your vids and edits and you care about the quality of your content. Keep up the good work!
I was about to write this!!! Love the intro
Also came to say this!
Subscribe Star him with a few bucks if you like the content. I agree. Great content.
agreed, my new favourite channel for night vision stuff
midwestoptics had this unit for $625, which I think is a killer deal so I picked one up for my first LAM. Yours and Hop's vids were my primary source of info, thanks
Getting fancy af with the editing! Great review as always.
Been running the Holosun laser for years ... it has never let me down!
Great content my man, good no bs info on a product first hand. Also love the Rimworld backround music lol
As always, a great video. Love your channel dude. Keep it up !
Good video. I got into NV last year and got the LS321G and it’s served me well. Been to two classes and trained with some friends less times than I’d like to but the Holosun has done well. Held zero and I’ve gotten halfway decent with it. With rise of people getting NV may be a good idea to start working more on aiming passive anyway lol
Just bought my first 14 from Nightline. This video helped me decide to pull the trigger on this holosun laser! Thanks man!
Enjoyed the reviews of products on your channel!!
Loving this channel brother, hope it continues to blow up, good stuff
Just ordered one! Have been running a Streamlight TLR VIR II. Super hyped to upgrade to a second unit/more advanced setup.
Appreciate what you do here, Brass
Nice work on review 👏 continue good work!!!
thanks man.
Great vid and review. Thanks .
This truly helps me. I haven’t gotten night vision yet but I am considering getting my laser setup taken care of and I believe I might actually get this holosun
glad to help
Great video, thanks for taking the time and spending the money to produce this content. I own a FP PEQ15 and was close to selling it to buy two PERST4's to run with IR weapon lights to maximize my night capabilities on two different rifles. You saved me that mistake by this video.
Did you get the holosun instead?
I know this is an old video but I just wanted to take a moment and thank you and Hop for putting out this amazing information for us for free. You guys have helped me make informed decisions throughout the years and just recently helped me put together my own night vision set up. Keep doing what yall are doing. 🤘🏼
They're really invaluable for anyone just getting into night vision.
solid editing for the intro!
thanks big guy, good info
thanks for the comment eggman.
I think thus overview might very well have pushed me over the edge. Pretty sure this is what will get me into NV
Good stuff. I've been runnin the holoson ls221g. Only difference I think is, it doesn't have a built in illuminator but I run a surefire vampire 600 duel fuel with it. Been workin great.
I have a lot of holosun stuff it has all worked well so far
my ls321g has been quite the tool. never an issue
It's definitely "budget" when you consider it within the context of all of the available options on the market, especially full powered devices.
Dude, I KNOW that intro took a damn year of effort. Badass work. Optic your zero before you go to the range, brother.
Severely underrated channel
Nice review
great video thanks
Good review
Great overview! Funny enough I was searching for something to throw on my TP9 SBR for night plinking. The height of the unit has me a little apprehensive, though.
Very helpful video. I'd like to get into night vision, but all the gear options are confusing and quickly become expensive. I'll look into getting the LS321 to begin with. Great dog, by the way.
she actually runs the channel, I just do her bidding.
This is actually exactly what I was looking for, for the bb gat/.22lr upper. Just something to play with, without having to drop hella money on the toy. Then put something serious on the 300blk/5.56.
You're shooting a bb gun with nods? Man just buy a $30 vis laser and put this on your real gun. Or save up for something nicer this is still almost $1000.
IR on the tp9 love that set up.
Those interior shots are great at demonstrating that nods aren’t magic and that there are scenarios when they’re pretty much useless without an illuminator
You mentioned the MAWL, as I knew you would, as an option. Funny thing is; Now that they've been out for a couple of years there are plenty of reports of them breaking. Also, While the illuminator is hands down the best on the market, a few review/ comparison videos here on UA-cam say that the Holosun as a better aiming laser.
it might be a better starter option but the mawl is objectively better in performance, not even close.
I'm not well informed on the durability/life spawn of the mawl.
Thanks for the video. Almost got a stream light tlr2 IR from a recommendation. But going this instead
yeah that light /IR is fine for very niche applications. But for any serious use you need a dedicated LAM
hope you like it.
The review Aaron Cowan did on the LE321 is pretty awesome as far as endurance to drop
Mine has been working under duress for over a year. Nice IR laser
Good review and I like the advice. For an even cheaper option that is still functional for folks without night vision that want to play with mine or for extra guns I suggest the viridian hs1 ir. Activation is intuitive and like you said brightness is the same. The major downside is it is ir only so you need to confirm by either shooting or looking through your reddot.
that is certainly cheap. Would need a paired vampire illum tho.
Keep up the good work bud! Need more of those dad joke “facts” at the ends of your videos!
Hecken good doggo...great review you sold me on it.
cool, hopefully it doesnt disappoint.
Love the Rimworld music!
Look idk about other instruments, but my trombones are all made of brass.
Came for the facts, stayed for the doggos.
honestly, it's the best part of the channel
awsome video
I don't know why but the rave mix was good with all the lazors!
The LS321G Rocks bro, and the ir light is good enough for CQB. If one wants a super powerful ir light then get the Coyote Reaper® we are talking amazing performance @900 yards😲 😎👍
Cool intro but the exit with the dog was the best
IF i get into NV stuff, probably gonna go with this, or the ngal, but that'd just be for the looks of it
Helpful
Premium intro montage 👌 like an EDM GarandThumb
Assfacts and hop video on the same day? Lets go
😂just the facts maam.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on a kiji set up
Hops got you covered. His video is ready. Release soon.
5:16 is this Rimworld sound track?? That’s awesome!
For the algorithm. Great intro!
Sick review man. Thanks for it! How is this unit holding up now?
Still going strong.
Dude sickkkkk Intro. What's the song?
Random super-specific question: would this fit on the pic rail on the top of a BLK LBL forend on an X-95? (The long version) I was thinking that would be the perfect spot for an IR laser device because it's like a 1/2" below the optic rail.
Heard concerning reviews about the mount and QD lever being fragile. Any insights on that? Also will it clear a front sight base if mounted behind it at 12 o clock?
New to NV and look for the first laser. Great video! Try to decide between LS321 and atpial-c. I know Atpial-C can be mounted behind iron sights. How about the LS321? Thank you
I don't think so would need to be a really narrow one. But unsure. Sorry
About how many picatinny slots does it take up? I'm considering mounting this on an 11.5 with a 10" rail.
Was also my first MFAL too
if only it wasn't so ugly. xD
@@BrassFacts sold mine and picked up a juicier version that is the TRIAD C2 years later. Only difference is that the illuminator adjustment tunes all the way down to a beam.
Is the holosun le221"s vis/ir unit configured so there is less parallax. In the schematic it looked like the laser was almost directly over the bore as compared to their other configurations. Your input apppreciated. Thanks for these vids.
yes it's *slightly* (we're talking very little) better. I wouldn't worry about it.
Come for the Nova footage stay for the bonus owl footage
his name is steve.
Quadruple owls
Can it mount at 12 o’clock with a F marked standard front sight post fixed
My question is, if I have the glx 30mm mount will the ls321 be too tall for my lpvo, and would the plx 1.5" 30mm be tall enough to clear it?
I'm a huge fan of the Holosun lasers so far. The illuminator hasn't impressed me on the 321 though; the 221 with an Arisaka might be the way. I'll report back in Feb after more testing
from my experience flashlight illuminators are significantly worse past 25 yards
@@BrassFacts I've got a local range that I can RSO on, range master approved a night shoot with no lights. I can only engage out to 220, but the targets will be in bunkers. Should be a useful test of IR lights
I'm using a 221 and vampire on a gun right now. I do not recommend it.
@@bass779 it depends how much city backlighting in the sky there is. but perhaps that makes the test better as the illum would need to *fight* the ambient light to hit the bunkers.
It will be a Malkoff IR 250 on an Arisaka 600; I acknowledge the dumbness of potentially needing another white light.
I just noticed your playing Rimworld music in the background 😂
I, too, am a Rimworld enjoyer.
its the rimworld music for me! horse back video when?
Hop seem to favor his I2. The videos show a slight advantage with illumination over this. I like the idea of slaved lasers. No BS, do you think this ls321 will work good enough on a suppressed 11.5 AR with a 75 yard expectation using a gen 3 wp pvs14? Or should I consider spending more on sometning like a D2 that has a better illuminator? Thanks. This NV stuff is expensive and it's difficult to spend money to try things out only to find they don't work that well.
this will work to 75 yards fine.
The D2 will do it better, but with added cost, and bulk.
@@BrassFacts thank you. And like you said in the video. If I need an upgrade later I can always use this on another gun. Thanks again
picked one up awhile ago put it on my ak103 build then ran the fuck out the unit and got that handguard and gun hot and the laser still worked flawlessly. Round 1300 rounds and still going.
@brassfacts would you recommend going with the Holosun LS321 or spend some more money and get a surefire vampire with the DesignateIR (lasers only, no illuminator) from US Night Vision?
between those 2 options, the Ls321.
Surefire vampire are fairly close range illuminators (lots of spill)
@@BrassFactsthanks for the quick reply. I appreciate the help and all the content you put out there 👍🏼
Nice intro, I can see the tall laser being real annoying unless you a run high mounts, does it block with a 1/3 cowitness height?
Nope
Is there any way you can put together a “tried and true” budget NV video? All the gear that you should purchase in order to be “on par” for an effective setup would be incredibly helpful.
there is no budget NV stuff. The NV that are worth buying are all pricy.
The real savings come with stuff like lasers, and accessories. But they're not what I'd call cheap.
JUST GOT ONE THESE FOR A LOANER RIG IM PUTTING TOGETHER , LOOKING FORWARD SEEING IT IN ACTION
Did you buy that specific one off amazon. Slightly worried about warranty or just send it?
as long as it's a holosun product you'll be fine, warranty wise
oh hey i just bought a holosun 117IR
Oops
What’s the deal with windage and elevation? It seems opposite on mine which way is put the dot right and which is up? Thanks
It's designed to be zeroed at the 3 o'clock position. If mounting at 12 o'clock then the left/right dial is your elevation and the up/down is your windage.
Do you match your Laser zero distance to your day time optic zero distance? Let’s say 50 yards?
How tall does it sits infrony of an eotech exps3?
I've never had QC issues with Holosun products
Anyone know of an aftermarket mount for the 321? Or if it can take one made for a dbal?
This ^
@Brass Facts dont suppose you could see if theyre interchangable for us poor boys since you have both?
I have this unit and i paired with a km2c and its MORE THAN ENOUGH! People hate on holosun because its chinese but they are making competitive products at a better price.. Kinda a no brainer.
How tight can you focus the illuminator compared to I2? The I2 i owned is still too wide open even bottomed out. Thanks
almost the same sadly. If I recall the I2 gets *slightly* tighter but not really meaningfully so
@@BrassFacts 🥲oof that’s gonna be a deal breaker for me, thanks tho
Just saying I'd rave with Brass Facts
Interest in the LE321G
How far find targets on a range with illuminator? Good vjd
really depends on the lighting conditions. 100-150 yards is a good bet for strong useful illum. Past that it peters out pretty hard.
Will this stand up to .308 recoil?
WHOS A GOOD BOY!!!
That has to be music from Rimworld!
you are correct
Informative info.
Need vis/IR las to match my kiji 3°, I really want a LE221... But they're all gone.. what are my options?
have you looked at the LS 221?
@@BrassFacts yeah, ls221 sits higher, is not axially aligned like the le221, because it's in a different housing. It's my backup pick.
NEA: Not 👏 Enough 👏 Acronyms
The Perst 4 has come up? The current price of the Perst 2 has me crying. Just saw hops vid from like 2 years ago where it was only like 1400 and I was gonna consider it until I saw the current price🥵🥵
How does it compare to the somogear peq15 full power?
i mean this is civ power, and the somogear is not.
This is a higher quality unit. but it's still civ power.
How does the Dbal A3 compare?
roughly the same. slight edge to the A3
