From The Field: Vacant Unit

Here is a quick test of a Silent Knight IFP-1000ECS system in a high rise office building. Everything you see in this video was an addition to this vacant unit. While the unit is unoccupied, there still needs to be fire protection. This was follow up work after we completed the annual inspection.
This system is programmed so if an alarm condition occurs, it will activate the floor of origin and the adjacent floors. For example, if the fifth floor were to go into alarm not only would notification sound on the fifth floor, but it would also sound on the fourth floor and the sixth floor. This is a common set up in high-rise buildings and it all comes down the authority having jurisdiction and what their local code requires.
