As a Norwegian Telecommunications Technician, I work alot with fire systems. Autronica's autroprime and autrosafe accounts for about 80% of the systems, Schneider 15% and the last 5% is different kinds of random systems which are 20 years or older. Autronica systems is by far my favorite kind of fire system, with autroprime being my speciality

Been working on Fire alarms since 1998, straight out of the Submarine service. They're super boring to me now. I got a job with the school district so I could fix more than life safety systems. Intercoms, Auditium lighting, sound, PA, scoreboards etc. Fire alarm service/Programming is what landed me the job though. Good techs are hard to find.
Manual Call Points and Sounder it can placed in any line cable connection, is it by our choice to connect from beginning of loop or in the middle or end even must be in separate line need to be dedicated which method need to be follow and implement regarding to circuit line connection. for both Conventional and Addressable systems.
Really explained the basics very well. Well understood. Grateful if a complex fire alarm system with all types of components (repeater panels etc.) is explained.
In terms of accuracy, This is fairly accurate, except those initiating devices are European call points. The USA & Canada use Pull Stations. Same with those Notification Appliances, Those look like European Sounder-Strobes, While the USA & Canada use Horn-Strobes, Chime-Strobe’s, Or Speaker-Strobes, or the remote variants of strobes, speakers, horns, or chimes.

Good video but in most elderly buildings the fire dept now tells you to stay in your apartment if the fire alarm sounds unless they come to get you this change is do to years of research showing the same stairs the fire men are trying to come up are filled with tenants trying to get out this new change is a good one has saved many lives so far

Thanks for this video....kindly do an illustration of how a fire engine panel wiring is done , the automatic start and stop when water pressure drops in the line.
There are many reasons this would be done. One, in case of a fire/sprinkler discharge, it may get pretty wet inside the building. Using a weatherproof alarm would preserve the device. Another reason is maintaining the minimum number of spare parts. Using the same alarms inside and out reduces the number of spares that need to be maintained.
