I am the industry staff, the course explains how is the system constructed, what is the main function for each item, and how these devices realize the function. It helps the residents to understand why it is important to install fire alarm system, and why we need to maintain the devices regularly. And as the wireless technology upgrading, which can help us to upgrade the existing building fire alarm system, no more cable work, and complex commissioning, and realize the IoT Function to monitor the system anytime.
Good video but in most elderly buildings the fire dept now tells you to stay in your apartment if the fire alarm sounds unless they come to get you this change is do to years of research showing the same stairs the fire men are trying to come up are filled with tenants trying to get out this new change is a good one has saved many lives so far
Been working on Fire alarms since 1998, straight out of the Submarine service. They're super boring to me now. I got a job with the school district so I could fix more than life safety systems. Intercoms, Auditium lighting, sound, PA, scoreboards etc. Fire alarm service/Programming is what landed me the job though. Good techs are hard to find.

Manual Call Points and Sounder it can placed in any line cable connection, is it by our choice to connect from beginning of loop or in the middle or end even must be in separate line need to be dedicated which method need to be follow and implement regarding to circuit line connection. for both Conventional and Addressable systems.

In terms of accuracy, This is fairly accurate, except those initiating devices are European call points. The USA & Canada use Pull Stations. Same with those Notification Appliances, Those look like European Sounder-Strobes, While the USA & Canada use Horn-Strobes, Chime-Strobe’s, Or Speaker-Strobes, or the remote variants of strobes, speakers, horns, or chimes.

I have seen many UA-camrs that have their knowledge of Fire Alarms and I learned a lot from those UA-camrs. I have my own Fire Alarm System and I have the knowledge needed to know how the devices work.
I have 30 years experience with low voltage systems I've been injured haven't been able to work for the last 4 years I have experience with security systems home theatre networking nurse call phone systems ECT but My favorite to install is doing fire alarm installation probably because of all the codes you have to follow especially in cities like Los Angeles but in places like Indianapolis you don't need fire alarm license I always hated doing fire alarm service in Indianapolis because going behind someone that had no clue and use 22/4 wire for horn strobes in huge warehouse and wonder why only the first 2 on the loop would work. It's Life safety devices every city in United States should require the installer to be qualified and have a fire alarm license
There are many reasons this would be done. One, in case of a fire/sprinkler discharge, it may get pretty wet inside the building. Using a weatherproof alarm would preserve the device. Another reason is maintaining the minimum number of spare parts. Using the same alarms inside and out reduces the number of spares that need to be maintained.

That can be really confusing. In a nutshell, there is a relay which is activated by the fire alarm that is interconnected with the HVAC unit. It can be done directly at the FACP, or by a HVAC shutdown relay in the field. That relay will either be connected to something like a thermostat power wire in a normally closed circuit (break the circuit, cut power to the unit to shut it down) or to an input on the HVAC control.
