That’s so awesome that you are getting into sewing! Yeah it is so crazy what all goes into making clothes! lol I’ll never look at my clothes the same way😂😂
I spent a couple hours using my sewing machine the other day and my back is aching so much. Do you have any advice on setting up and organising an area for sewing projects?
I totally understand with my first few projects my back was in a ton of pain! I’ve tweaked a few things to help reduce my back pain. I found that when I started cutting my fabric on my kitchen countertop it helped me because I would be hunch over cutting fabric on the floor and my back would kill. Not everyone has the room to cut on countertops so I would be more mindful about posture when cutting/sewing and readjust often❤️ Organizing for a space is really nice! I have a sewing cabinet that I found on Facebook marketplace(this is my go to place!). However there are a ton of different online versions on how big you want to go and how costly you want to spend. I’m always looking for something that would fit in a small space. My first pick is the gateleg table from IKEA because it folds up into a narrow table or can be extended into a long table. I just couldn’t find it one that was second hand and in my budget. I guess my biggest tip with organizing is figuring out what your priorities are, like maximizing a small space or maybe you have loads of room to play around with. Once you’ve created your priorities, look at how others have their sewing areas set up and find ones that are similar to your needs.
Yes! Just started sewing and I never knew so much time and technique go into our clothes.
