Great video man. Thanks for letting us see all those headlights
Great video! Thanks for going in detail with these lights 🙏🏼 I am fully sold on the morimotos and will be getting them soon 🔥
I got the hybrid Morimoto as headlights and Alpharex as tail lights. I’m a happy camper!
I went with the alpharex alpha black pros and installed a 55w innovited 5k hid kit. Didn’t want to worry about the led chips failing. Nice comparison review🤙🏽
Definitely don’t blame you, it’s always nice having a replaceable bulb
Can you send a link to those hid kit

Thanks I needed this. After 7 years my oem headlights need to be replaced. The inside of the lens melted. I'm going with morimotos
Glad I could help! I have them in stock. Square1offroad.com
Just watched the video! Thank you! What’s a good bulb upgrade for the stock halogen? I have a 2013 Tacoma .
I think I am going to be choosing the Luxx headlights for my rig.
A solid option 👀
hey. solid option.
@@austinreading1I went with the Luxx for my 2015 Tacoma too. It is definitely a solid option.
Would you be able to help me out with how to adjust the beam?
Driver’s side is higher than the passenger side.
Novas all day baby, not the brightest but easily the best looking!
Definitely going to test them again. I was surprised they weren’t brighter!
Thanks for the video! Is there a reason why both headlights have the yellow connector when there is only one connector on the harness ? Installing my Alpharex pros tomorrow . Thanks
Alpharex lux are my choice!…
do you put the 15 fuse with the 5 fuse in the fuse tap or just the 5 fuse into where the 15 was?
Can you do a detailed install video for the Morimotos? I’m having trouble getting mine to fit!
You will want to remove that bracket that’s blocking it from angling in. 10mm ratcheting wrench. Or take off the bumper (not hard) to get to everything
Will you be putting together LED kits like you did for the 4Runner say everything inside everything outside and maybe option with or without a lights?
Shoot me an email with your year truck and what all you’re wanting to replace and let’s see if we can get a kit together
Austin@square1offroad.com
Great video! Thank you for taking the time to put this together. I was leaning towards the Nova, but after watching this video Luxx clearly out performed the Nova with 2700 lux output! Wow!! Alpha Rex Nova lights you tested were for 2.5 gen Tacoma. Nova for 2nd gen Tacoma's have projectors stacked in square pattern, two bottom & two top. I'm assuming (Nova 2 Gen) output would be similar to the Nova four horizontal projector lens you tested? Again thank you for putting this together. It was very informative!
Yes it would be similar. I like the luxx output better, just a cleaner beam pattern.
If you decide to get them, we have them in stock.

Thank you sir. Grateful for quick response. Still trying to decide on color Alpha Black or Chrome? I have silver Tacoma with black Overland front bumper. If I purchase from you guys, warranty issue go through you guys?
@@trinityprojectc3548 if you have black accents, I’d go with black! And yes!
i just installed the headlights and im having trouble adjusting them. what does the top and bottom adjustment dials do?
I have been trying to lower the brightness cuz its a little high, but the light dosnt moved at all
I was loving those LUXX lights until I saw the price! My truck is a 2006 so Its a budget build. But the video is very informative.
Not the cheapest but if you decide you have to have them it’ll actually get you entered to win another Tacoma!

Great video! Are you planning on adding fog lights too?
Already have! Just haven’t uploaded a video
@@austinreading1 sweet! Can’t wait
@@ridewithme3428 new fog light video is up!
@@austinreading1 I’ll check it out! Thanks for the heads up!
Just installed the Alpharex Pros on a 2015 tacoma. Halogen model. They are without a doubt way dimmer than the stock headlights with halogen. Alpharex Pros use H7 bulbs. I put in the high end Sylvania halogens and still garbage output. Upgraded to Auxbeam F16 Plus bulbs. Massive difference. Not sure how long they will last but the halogens were just awful. Bottom line is the halogen bulbs in the Apharex Pros are borderline unsafe and are definitely unusable during a bad storm. If you upgrade to LEDs with large heatsinks/fans you will need to modify the dust caps on the Alpharex headlights.
Novas 👍🏻
Just ordered some of the gtr ultra 2s to put in my alpharex pros and hoping they are worth the price!
From us? They will be. Best you can get in those headlights
@@austinreading1 found a discount code on another site but have been checking your site out and will be ordering there in the future. Thanks for the response and your videos have been super helpful!
Lol I still chuckle at myself. I have morimoto 2.0 stroke in my alpharex pros lol
Did you need to go with resistors for the LED turn signals on the AlphaRex headlights?
Nope!
Does the Alpha Pro not have the sequential turn light and the lock/unlock animation thing?
Sequential turn signal but not the animation!
Does the pro’s have the panel in the back to make the drl amber instead of white?
Did you find out about this, cause i wanna do mine into amber!!
How is your front plastic bumper so clean and new looking? Did you replace it? Do you use any plastic restore ?
It only had 49k miles
Did you say there is a way to modify the Alphas and remove the amber turn signal lens and replace with clear? If so, where is this product / accessory / hack? I can't find any reference to it anywhere?
We can do it! Send me an email. Austin@square1offroad.com
just put these on my truck and the turn signals dont work at all and its looking like i might need that harness you put on but i never got that could i get a link to that harness?
Send me an email austin@square1offroad.com
Austin, didn't you have a Titan before this Taco?
I’ve had 3!
The morimoto look awful compared to the luxx alpharex, great vid and tutorial👍🏾
If they were black housing it would’ve definitely been hard to choose imo. Thanks!
So on the luxx headlights, if I already have DRL on my Tacoma, do I still have to have the fuse tap? Or does it just plug and play and that’s it?
Same question I have my has already factory DRL
On mine without using their harness the drl came on but turn signals didn't work. Once I added their harness the turns signals are working and the harness also varies the drl brightness depending on headlight on or off. I have 2012 Tacoma sr5 with the 3 position light switch.
Hey how you doing guys I purchased the pro model and I was wondering what LED light bulb I can use on that model headlight I'd like I would like to have the 6000 K LED light bulb which would you recommend best for that headlight please let me know thank you very much I appreciate it

Can I plug in the 2 prong GTR ultra 2.0 into the 3 prong Tacoma brown plug in? Asking about converting alpharex pro to led
No. Unplug halogen bulb inside the headlight, and then you can connect the new leds. Brown plug is outside of the headlight
Ok thanks, getting headlights tmr, I guess it’s a whole different deal than stocks, stocks the bulb goes in and connect to brown wire
You still need drl harness even if you truck comes with drl from stock?
Yes
Yeah it's weird. These are American companies who don't think of us Canadians when they're building them
What is your recommendation for a good quality LED? thank you
For stock headlights or alpharex pros?
For the alpharex pro
Can I buy your oem lights
Do you have to get to haylight adjusted?
Yes you need to adjust them. It’s easy!
Alpharex needs to design a better headlight assembly for the 2018 Silverado so I can buy a set
Always morimoto!

@@austinreading1 I was torn between alpharex and morimoto tail lights. I went with the alpharex tail lights! only bad thing about them is they are hyper flashing. I’ve been in contact with alpharex about this problem for 3 weeks now 😡
Are all of them a sequential turn signal?
All the alpharex are. The morimoto uses your stock bulbs. They are all on sale currently when you add to cart and go to checkout.
square1offroad.com/search?q=2015+tacoma+headlighrs&options%5Bprefix%5D=last
Can I have a link for the bulbs you recommend for the Pro headlights?
I haven’t confirmed if the 2stroke bulbs fit under the dust cap, the other few do though. Any of the 3 bulbs will be solid
square1offroad.com/search?q=h7+led&options%5Bprefix%5D=last
@@austinreading1 do you know which would fit my 2014 2nd gen Tacoma? Would it still be the H7?
@@uliseslopez2617 yes h7
No turn signal few ?
I forgot on a couple
do i need to do the DRL fuse tap if my tacoma already has the DRL feature?
Yes
@@austinreading1 okay. Hopefully the headlights came with it. I ordered them last Saturday .
@@dizydank they do for 12-15. Gotta buy it for 05-11
thanks for letting me know!@@austinreading1
How will you change the led chip if they go out?
You can’t. Thats what warranty is for!
Same for any led tail lights or fog lights, gotta replace the unit if it fails, but if you buy a quality product they will be warrantied
That make sense. That’s why they cost an arm and a leg
Morimoto is far superior in quality and warranty it’s a no brainer .
I have a 2015 Tacoma, bought the alpha Rex pro, I want an led light, whats your recommendation for a bulb? Do they go by h5-h7 etc light halogen
These are the best and brightest. Lifetime warranty also. They barely fit under the dust cap, but they fit.
square1offroad.com/products/28497?_pos=5&_sid=7e63a03c7&_ss=r&variant=41938877874338
Do they plug up directly to where the stock halogen goes?
@@brandonroblero5411 yes, unplug the bulb and remove them from the headlights, then you’ll connect the new bulbs to that wiring. Plug and play
Ok thanks, one last thing, you recommended h7 but my truck came with h4 halogens? Will h7 fit
I think I see, the alpha Rex pro come with h7 instead of h4
Anyone know if the projectors in the Morimoto XB headlights are superior to the Morimoto MLED 2.0 projectors?
I'm building some 100% custom headlights for an older truck project and I'm not opposed to retrofitting the internals of a model specific XB Headlight (one that has multiple projectors like a newer Silverado, etc).
Either that, or quad MLED 2.0 projectors (2 per side).
D2S projectors would be a better route strictly performance based, but the mled is solid also
how many grille clips were harmed in the making of this videos
This ain’t no titan bubby
I want to buy it
square1offroad.com/search?q=2015+tacoma+headlights&options%5Bprefix%5D=last
19:42 Agreed. They look terrible - and that's being nice.
The deal breaker with the Morimoto is the consequential turn signal, you still need to use the old turn signal bulb or upgrade it to LED yourself.
that's the reason I went with the Morimoto. Not a fan of turning my Tacoma into a fast and furious Honda civic.
You can swap out the halogen bulbs on the pro series, but just be aware that it isn't street legal so there is a possibility of being pulled over and getting a ticket if you go that route.
Why isn’t it street legal if the cutoff is maintained?
Cops can't tell the difference anyways lol
In no world does the dust cap fit over the gtr
I’m about to break it trying
@@brandonroblero5411 it does! Multiple customers have done it! They always think it doesn’t fit but they get it
Count me as one of them, got it to fit, the first headlight I worked with seemed more stubborn but I got it in, the other headlight was fairly easy started to doubt you my man
@@brandonroblero5411 haha all good man! Now you can enjoy them😎
epoxy that floor bubby
😒
My lights burned out putting it in that place
I like the look of the Nova Lux...but that Morimoto pattern was the tightest...its a toss up between those two.
We have all of them in stock ready to ship. Let me know if you have any more questions
