I have this unit and aside occasional connection issues, where I need to reboot- I have really loved this unit. I've had mine for a few years now and it has worked very well!
I Installed the same unit on my corolla about 2 years ago. No complains so far, I love it!
Just stumbled across your channel with this video. Been eyeing one of these for a while because I agree it blends pretty seamlessly with the interior. I worry about how it will hold up to the heat here in UT and have seen folks complain about dead screens after a year. This is one of the better walkthroughs I’ve seen so it would be great to get a longevity update!

have some questions as i own a 13 access cab tacoma, my jvc i put in only works on 1 station am. i have all new wiring for it. also no android auto, am a android guy sorry. dont want the aucar headunit but listen to spotify and youtube music. does this have hdmi out, so i can plug my usb hdmi dongle in to replace the 1 that fell out of truck. looking for replacement. does it have siriusxm in cause i love that as well.
The radio works good on mine, it does have android auto, I think Sirius XM should work it has the google play store comes with gps antennas though I have never used Sirius XM before. I don’t think it has a HDMI input but it does have a usb
Great video, I ordered a Joying 10.1 and they sent the wrong harness. Picked up a harness adapter and still cannot get power to the unit....any advice?
I would go to their website and contact them directly. They were pretty quick to respond and got me in touch with the right harness for my truck

@@RustyOliveso I got the whole phone mount kit and then ordered one additional mount. If your just looking for the ball mount only I am pretty sure you can get it from their website - offroam

Great video, i don't know much about speakers or head units but is it easy to wire after market subs to this unit?
I’m not an audio guy either but it comes with additional aux connections so I would assume so 🤷♂️

Can you still play music via a thumbdrive loaded with mp3s in the oem usb? Also, did you have a link for the optional wiring harness?

Oh and I would bet you could play mp3s via usb but I haven’t tried it
Did you check the settings to see if there is a touch sensor adjustment? My Teyes head unit does so maybe the Joying does?

Hey man, maybe you can help me. I got an aucar head unit for my Tacoma. I want to put a SIM card in it but att wants the imei number. How do I find that on the tablet? I’m perplexed! Thanks for any help!

It lists the option as 05-12 or 13-15. That is not the body style change over. Should I order the 13+ if I have a 2012 no JBL?
The one I ordered was 05-12 with JBL
The Amazon listing says it will not work with the stock backup camera. Did you have to do anything to make it work or is that a misprint?
Yeah i mentioned in the vide there was a special harness I had to order. Mine is a 2012 w/ JBL and so if your is the same I have linked the one I used. If yours is different you will probably need to reach out to them and find out which one is right for your truck.

I think I have worn polarized sunglasses while using it and haven’t noticed anything

What about sound quality and the loudness?
Both are great for me, I have a 2012 w/ JBL and sounds just as good as OEM to me
So apple car play uses your phones data for it to work?
Yes it’s essentially just an extension of your phone

Have you had any issues running numerous apps i.e. Nav and music with this head unit? I would really prefer the AUCar but i can't justify the price
They have multiple unit now, watch my six month review on this one, then the Gen 2 one. Should answer all your questions. They also just came out with a 14” screen version that I installed yesterday and will be covering in the future.
@alpinetactics I did see your video on the AUCar 6 month update and the 2nd gen. I was just curious if the joying had any of the same issues with running more than one app, while you had it installed.

@@odoylerules9896 I’m so sorry I thought this comment was on the AUCar video my bad! I have seen a little lag with it when many applications are running but for my use case was still bearable. I liked that head unit a lot
@@alpinetactics No worries. I know it's hard to keep all the comments straight. I was just hoping I wasn't missing something and sounding like an a$$ commenting back lol. Thanks for the input about the unit. I think that may be something I can deal with as I don't need the maps all too often.
You didn’t like the AU ?
So far I like them both just kinda wanted to switch things up. I didn’t know it at the time of this video but AUCar just let me know yesterday that they are coming out with a new model for the 2nd Gen Tacoma and will be sending it out to me to make another video. So I will for sure at least do the video for it but I may go back to this one after. Will just have to see.

@Burdman7777 the new one will be on Android 13 OS and have a 14” screen. They sent me some pictures of it, looks pretty rad.

@@Burdman7777 hahah thanks man! After using several of these I figure as long as they have enough memory they are usually going to work just fine. The thing with the AUCar head units is they are pretty cool but also pretty dang expensive. I think the joying is a good option for someone who wants a more affordable and maybe more simple solution. I thought I was probably gonna settle on the joying but I am pretty excited to see the new AUCar one now 😂
