Like everyone else, I love those gloves and am working up the skills (and courage) towards leather gloves of my own one day. Also your comment re: useless tools was a perspective I hadn't thought of before! But you're right; sucky things have valuable lessons to teach us just like awesome things do. Also, let's give it up for all the CosTube Moms who patiently taught us how to flail a little less with fabric and a sewing machine, eh?
I agree, I'm very grateful to my mum for taking the time to teach me! Especially given my belated interest in the hobby 😅 And thanks for the kind words! If you ever decide to take the plunge and make some gloves, let me know! I'd love to see how they turn out
Your Witcher costumes are so cool! I watched almost all of your videos from old to new a few months ago and I loved watching the new armor come together. I can't wait to see what you make next! (And you kind of make me want to make things with leather, like I need another making-hobby :P) P.S. All hail our lord and saviour, Adam Savage
@@Cxizent I'm not sure I needed to read this! I have more than enough hobbies now and I've been putting off learning leather working even though I see some amazing stuff that I want to make. I suspect this is a loosing battle.
@@Cxizent That's so true! If only I had all the time in the world... And I enjoyed watching your videos get better so I don't mind having watched the old ones :)
Seeing costumes in photos or in movement is always so completely different, its great to see you wear those armours on film! And the glovesss... /drool. I was already going to comment on how I like your editing style, I love the rapid fire between costume and non costume you, but seriously, the end cracked me up.
I need to say that You are one of my inspirations to do something with my old leather jackets and other meterials to make believable Mad Max universe character based on (in)fameus Max Rockatansky cause i love George Miller postapocalyptic universe
Thankyou for the very kind words! I do love postapoc/wastelander costumes. If you're in Australia I can recommend a really awesome group of costumers for it! Now I just need to figure out what to make next 🤔
@@Cxizent Poland here :D but we have some groups to, and very cool events like OldTown :) I can't wait to see what You make next, maybe a wasteland guy? It would be neat!
I've actually done my take on a wastelander, I put up a video very recently of the costume showcase! It's more in line with the "ruined Formalwear" vibe from Fallout than with Mad Max tho
Hi! You are SO RIGHT about the satisfaction of edge beveling. I love it. If you want to get into the 14th c stuff, I suggest you seek out the SCA. You're in the Kingdom of Lochac, though I'm not sure what subgroup. They cover all time periods and places pre-17th century, so you can get your historical costuming groove on for just about anything you'd want to do.
Thankyou! I definitely want to get into SCA, and there's a HEMA school not *too* far from me, but this is all contingent on it being safe to go outside, so maybe in 2030? 😅 I think the local SCA group does a display at an annual comic con, now that you mention it.
Literally watching this while I craft, myself. 😁 I'm currently knitting a blanket. I love that you got into full cosplay for this and the manticore armor looks so good!!
The algorithm sent me this video and while leatherworking isn't something I'm going for, I still enjoyed what you did (both the armor and the video itself). See you at CoSy?
Haha, definitely keep your pet rats out of the workshop. They will decide that the weirdest things are edible. Mine desomated the first beeswax candle I made, then made me worried sick for their health because they ate so much of it and I didnt know of the bees was was treated with anything. They were fine though, but my candle was not XD.
The armor you've made is completely epic! The gloves look fantastic!
Thankyou, I'm beyond pleased with how it's all come out! I do feel a tad dressed up with nowhere to go currently, though

There was something so precious about "I got my mom to teach me how to do the fabric part"
Fabric is scary, so naturally I went running to my mum :P
These transitions are awesome, and I'm so impressed that you learned your leather skills just to make a Witcher cosplay!
Indeed, quite inspiring)
Thanks, I try really hard. It turned out to be my favourite material to work with, so I'm glad I took the plunge!
I'm really hoping that among various creators we'll get to see your CoSy contribution as well 😉
You surely will! I'm going to be running a leathercrafting tutorial, so keep an eye out for the schedule to be released!

Something stupid extravagant! Excellent. Those are amazing gloves. Looking forward to checking out more of your vids. Thanks!

I lol'd at "no tool is truly useles...that being said I hate that strap cutter!" 😂😂😂
There's a reason I've never shown it in a video :p
Your gloves are 1,000% magnificent!!!
Thankyou! I should make a pair without the gauntlet part that I can wear around every day 🤔

Good algorithm, I'm glad that you enjoyed it! CoSy's getting real close, see you there!
Ok. Once I get into leather, I will have to look into kangaroo hide. That sounds fascinating.
It's a lovely material, I like using it along the edges of a piece (all the black edges on my first armour are kangaroo)

I'm glad they were okay! Ours will eat corks and pistachio shells so yeah, not chancing them in the workshop lol
