  • I'm pretty proud of the amount of ground that I covered in 7 minutes, while managing to slip a few funnies in.
If you've been following along and making your own mediaeval costrel, I'd love to see it! DM me:

Thanks, hope you're not holding your breath though 😬 I'll probably try to release the final two videos as a pair again, so it likely won't be ready for next week!

    Great series!
Some very random interdisciplinary crafting similarities: the bouncing motion of tooling looks like a quilting/darning foot on a sewing machine. While it doesn't move the fabric (the person sewing moves it), the foot has a little spring and bounces slightly with each stitch. Like how you were bouncing the tools to move slightly along the edges.

It's very interesting how totally different crafts can have a similar rhythm! I've watched my mum make many a quilt so I think I know which foot you're talking about!

Do you have any suggestions for which stamps are most useful for beginners, and/or where to get them? Especially in Australia, because I keep seeing suggestions for American sites on forums.

Absolutely! I started off with Birdsall's carving starter kit. I've just added tools to it here and there: www.birdsall-leather.com.au/CTCS/Carving-Starter-Kit/pd.php
If you're in the Sydney area I really recommend their classes as well, they've got some really talented and passionate people there (and one day I'll blow so much smoke up their ass, they'll have no choice but to sponsor me lmao)
