Can you do a review on "the stalk archery" arrows? they are not exactly "name brand" arrows but I've been told they are phenomenal arrows and I would really like to see how they match up against big name arrows/brands
Who are your parents!!?? They did amazing job teaching you to be objective and how to think about things in detail. These videos are really a breath of fresh air in a sea of "here are my sponsors, they are great buy them." type archery videos. The detailed explanations and data driven conclusions quench my thirst for the archery information that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. Thank you for all of your hard work sir, keep it up.
Thank you so much, they sure loved your comment, haha! I really appreciate the support, that's exactly what I'm trying to do. The archery community is so oversaturated with brand bias and salesmen, that it's almost impossible for any archer to find what will ACTUALLY work for them. I'm trying to go about this differently. I'm not selling people products, I'm educating them. Thanks again for the kind words!
Dude is awesome! especially for a new archer like me who knows nothing about about buying the right arrows for what I'm hunting. I was close to buying the FMJ's but after watching his videos I decided to wait and that saved me some money!!!
I really value these reviews. As an archer who rates empirical data highly over biased [?] "advice" from sponsored pro staff archers they are awesome. Keep 'em coming Samuel! Liked, subscribed and your channel recommended to all of my shooting mates in my club.
I must say, you’re outstanding at explaining stuff. Granted, you edit very well too, to keep things flowing. After 30 years of not shooting, things have changed in archery. As I’ve simi retired, I wanna get back into it. I’m kinda wanting to do it on my own and UA-cam, without having to seek out instructors($$$). I haven’t pulled the lever on either a bow or arrows, yet. Indeed, thank you for helping me with that decision.
Just grabbed a box of the Piledriver ds today for 40 bux. They are awesome for the money. Thanks for all the info, Love the channel bud. keep up the great work :)
Loved the previous review, I actually just built half a dozen deer hunting arrows with the VAP TKO Elites based on the incredible score the VAP 1 got. Really tightened my groups up!
Thanks for the review. I started shooting the Piledriver DS in 2019 recommended by my cousin. Saw them on sale so bought a 1/2 dozen. Liked them and was able to buy 2 dozen for $100. I don’t have the knowledge or the tools to dig to deep so I would just and find the best performing arrows out of that bunch and save those specifically for hunting.
Thank you so much! Me too, it's definitely on the to-do list. What other arrows are you wanting to see? I'll see if I can get my hands on them at some point 👍.
Samuel White I don’t have another arrow preference right now, but I’m just sitting here wondering if you could apply this same style of objective review to broadheads. 🤯
I think it would be interesting to compare the different straightness-es of the same arrow... VAP sport vs elite, Gold tip hunter vs hunter pro, etc. Could have some interesting results I think.
Great review!! I went from the GT Hunter XT to the Easton Axis Pro Grade. I find them to be more accurate than the the GT’s. I’m sure if they were more evenly matched I wouldn’t be able to tell a difference. I wanted to try the GT Valkyrie next since my issue with the Axis Pro’s were the Hit inserts. Not a fan of building arrows with those, I’ve learned. 😒
Hey John, thanks for watching! I'm spinning the 5mm Axis match grade right at this very moment, and all I can say without spoiling one of the next videos, is I'd get used to those inserts if I were you... 😉
Very good test. Almost perfect. For perfection, I would take into consideration factory length. My draw length is over 33". Any shaft less than that is 0 points from the get go. Suddenly there is only a handful of arrows to shoot.
DANG! That's a huge draw length, I'll try to throw in the total arrow lengths next time. I bet that makes it such a pain to find arrows. Thanks for watching!
@@SamuelWhiteArchery You bet :D X10 and X23 2315, PROCOMP on one end, or cheapo very very bad X and S size hunter arrows. Bought bunch of them recently as a tuning exercise but I'm getting strange inconclusive results from them.
I love what you're doing with the budget reviews. How about a100% Walmart review? Like the Barnett Vortex with Whisker Biscuit and Joker 4 with whatever arrows they have and release. I mean true budget review
This was great. Good testing dude. I’d love to see comparisons on the micro diameter shafts- VAP vs GT Pierce as well as the actual measured variation between the different grades. Purely a selfish request I admit as I only shoot VAPs at the moment but want to try the Gold Tips or other similar shafts
What do you bet that it is policy at some of these manufacturers to throw a bad one (or two) with every box. Gold Tip straightness, in my experience, has really dropped in quality since they moved manufacturing out of the country. Easton remains at the top for straightness for me, with Victory second, which is why I usually only buy raw shafts. Most straightness issues are near the ends of the shaft, and one can cut the ends to shorten the shaft to your length, increasing straightness. Been shooting for decades and once had an Easton Bowfire arrow, one of two in a bow mount quiver I bought at a second hand store. The arrow was just long enough to clear my rest by a half inch at full draw. (A little short for me, as I like to clear the riser) I must have shot that thing a thousand times or more over the course of 5 years. It glanced off the target, stuck into trees, deflected more than once off a metal target frame. It was the straightest, stubbornest, most dependable arrow I ever shot. Finally lost it in the corn field. Broke down a few years later and bought a dozen. A skinny shaft fan, but these are amazing. Only way to kill one, it seems, is to lose it. Easton should bring the Bowfire back, in true form. Life lesson: It is unconditionally better to buy quality used products, than cheap out and buy brand new junk. Good Journeys All P.S. Great video, Sam! When you can. pick up some CX Adrenalines. I'm curious to see how they stack up. They shoot really well from my Stinger when I do my part.
@@SamuelWhiteArchery Sounds good to me. I'm headed out to the cabin next weekend to do some hunting. I'll probably shoot some groups with the Adrenalines and the Stalkers to see how they perform against eachother and let you know what I find out.
Regarding your comment of boring people with the data, I think you can just link to your spreadsheet in the description, just mention in the video that it's there and you're done, no bored viewers :) Regarding future content, I would (same as last week) want to see some more high-end arrows (x10s, cx nanos, victory VXTs), I realize that this is expensive, which is why I donated to your GoFundMe. I realize that this specific campaign is not intended for high end arrows, but hopefully it will get you on your way there. Another area of even more marketing mumbo jumbo is stabilizers, and I (same as last week) would like to see you go there, perhaps create a universal ranking system for stiffness. I have some ideas regarding how to make that feasible on smaller budget, let me know if that's something you'd like to discuss.
I appreciate your hard work, and all you do to help other out! I will definitely drop some cash, (hopefully everyone does) and can't wait for more videos!
Hey Shane, not that I know of. If I had a way, I would for sure let you know, but nothing comes to mind. If I come across something in the future, I will definitely get back to you. Sorry man! Thanks for watching the videos, I really appreciate it.
Samuel White Thank’s Sam! I wanted heavier bolts, so I bought the Piledrivers. Emailing w/Barnett, they said- ‘We dont recomend them because of shallow nocks(half moon)+ may cause a dry fire!’ I compared them w/my Eastons, and they ARE shallower! So then I went w/Easton’s XX75 Mags. Exact same wt, about 442 gns(w/100 gn tip). Then I put 60 gn inserts in them, so now I’m 500 gn total. Ever since then, complete passthrus! But, they are all aluminum, and if they bend a little, it throws your shot off by 6”, at 30 yds. I found that out by accident! Oh, and I tried to get better nocks for the Piledrivers, but the ID is SMALL! Like .290 or sumpin.
Hell yeah they are, but thats not how you ask the question. It's is getting that deer worth it?? You put in all the time and effort into hunting then cheap out on equipment??
Another great video. Im probably wrong, but I have a hunch you might have been homeschooled? If not, you are motivated, speak well, and are doing a fine job or acting like a homeschooled person.
@@SamuelWhiteArchery The original Maxima Blue Streaks were excellent arrows. The Maxima Red is TRASH. Please expose this arrow, so many people shoot it.
All these people that pay American prices for 6 made in Asia arrows, have been DUPED by the American businessmen that have slowly increased the price of cheap imports to the price of American made arrows. Even if you have imports or American made arrows of the same quality, the imports have an astronomical mark up. If you pay way too much for imports, then you really are undercutting American job opportunities. All imported arrows should be much cheaper in price, even for the same quality.
