You’re such a talented turner. Thank you again for sharing your expertise. I wish I had a hands on mentor to teach me. Everything I do, ive taught myself from watching videos like this. And I’ll be completely honest, I look up to you as a mentor. Sometimes I’ll watch your videos several times. To make sure that I have gained everything possible. Then I go to my shop and turn.

@@tomislavtomasicwoodturning thank you. Also I added a profile picture here. I’m new to all of this stuff. Please take a moment and look at the picture. It’s all my work sitting on my dining room table. Let me know where I need improvement.

@@keithedwards1038 its hard to tell like from pictures as sometimes is more to the feel, however even if you are someone with more expirience you still want to improve or at least try something new on every bowl....

@@keithedwards1038 i would say that your work is really good, some pieces may look a bit heavy, maybe chunkier but again someone may like that.....
Have you tried to sell some of it?

Thank you for yet another approach to solving grain tearing problems. I've been using card scrapers for years and like Jason, never thought of using them on the lathe. Thank you!

Wonderful as always. A set of fiddle makers/luthiers scrapers could also prove useful for different curves.

I'd heard about card scrapers on the lathe but apart from a brief clip of David Marks using one I haven't seen a useful discussion. This is a very useful demonstration, thank you.
I might try grinding a concave scraper on my bench grinder for faring outside curves.

Thats great idea as curved scraper is much easier to use on outside....😀 thank you for watching

Because of the ash boring beetle, ash is a firewood staple. I burn wood for heat so I pick through and use a lot of ash. Is this scraper card wood? It seems hard enough.
