    First off. Thanks again for review. I have quite a few Splash paints. I love them. I use the champagne, aluminum and steel mostly. Also, looking at those Vallejo colors I’m definitely looking forward to seeing that review. Keep them coming. My wife was just saying she doesn’t like you. Your costing her money😂😂 because I keep buying more paint.

    Darn, I thought they were gonna be similar to Alclads, especially when you were spraying them - they looked so glossy and beautiful - they undoubtedly are not bad at all, in fact the gold colors are awesome! Just not as I hoped. I have one of their 'chameleon colors', and I love it so darn much, so I just can't wait to see the other colors you have ready for review! Awesome video, thanks again for all the plentiful information you give us on a semi-daily basis!

      I realized after consulting the company that all of their paints need a top coat, be it Gloss or matte, they must be coated. I have a big box of their car colors coming in this week so I'll be testing those out soon with their 2K Gloss coat too

    Though I haven't used any of the Splash Paints metalizers, I have used four of their auto color paints and really like them. I have building model cars for over 40 years and I just started using an airbrush. I love how Splash Paints flow on so easily. I believe you have to clear coat other popular paints from various companies.
    Great video. Keep them coming. Will you try using fingernail polish. I have heard if they are thinned properly they are a great item to paint with. And their are some wicked colors. The ones with metal flake seem to be more in scale.

    The titanium is for sure supposed to go with black. It’s the only spoon that looks like how it’s supposed to. Titanium has a darker hint of block in it.

    I see you're looking at Wicked Colors, by Createx. I've had really good luck with their two Auto-Air Quicksilver Chrome colors. Over a nice gloss black and then a quick rub after and they're some of the best water based I've used. Only two colors in the range, though.

    Sorry this is incredibly off topic... In an earlier video you had some amazing music playing while you showcased your friends gundam store. After some internet sleuthing I discovered the artist was Andy James, a British musician. Not since John Petrucci have I been so inspired by a guitarist! I really want to thank you for introducing me to him, his stuff will be awesome to paint to.

    When they say “Apply to black base.”, do they mean Paint, Primer or either?

    • @barbatosrex9473

      Black base primer, usually Gloss black when you want a shiny result like chrome or polished aluminum. A Matt black primer base will give you a dull finish

  • @Undeadtroll
    @Undeadtroll 4 роки тому

    You might have figured it out by now but Splash recommends a black base for all their metalizer colors to get the intended effect and they MUST be cleared. The following instructions are ripped straight from their website:
    Apply thin layers over BLACK primer/base. 2K Primers or Solvent primers are recommended prior to application.
    Use SPM-012 Semi-gloss black or SP-028 Beluga black
    OR
    2K Black primer for best results.
    Flash off 2-3 minutes between coats.
    AVOID SPRAY WET COATS
    25-30 PSI IS RECOMMENDED.
    THIS PRODUCT MUST BE CLEAR COATED.
    WITHOUT GLOSS CLEAR COAT, THE COLOR MAY APPEAR DIFFERENTLY
    Cheers, and thanks for making this review!

    • @barbatosrex9473
      @barbatosrex9473  4 роки тому +1

      Yes I realized it when I was done spraying them. Because they are labeled "Metalizer" I thought they were meant to look like my other Metalizer paints such as Alclad and AK Xtreme, a dull metal like look. But it's not the case with Splash, all there pants must be coated afterwards. That's what I'll do for sure when I test their auto colors.

    All splash moralized paints are required to go over super gloss black coat. Then topped with their 2k gloss clear. All of them. So all the ones your showing mean nothing.
